Hi Guys

A small price drop on this stock.

As is always as popular with these deals, we have both the HP and Dell stock available for the Budget Gaming/ HTPC configurations. The HP's offer more storage space as well the use of the full PCI-E slot.

We have good stocks of all, but normally they do sell out during these periods.

Both units are the same specifications

Core i5 4570 3.2GHz (4C)
8GB RAM
128GB HDD
They have 7/8 Home/Pro COA's but they are imaged with Windows 10 Home/Pro. If you need pro specifically you can message first to check availability, but most stocks are pro.

We also have the 9020's in the USFF if you're looking for the smallest option

Always 30% cheaper at your local computer auction… where OP buys them.

    • +1

We do not buy stocks from auctions………

      • +6

Even if you did, who gives a damn. You provide a service, it comes with costs, end of story :)

        • +1

Every now and than I'll pop onto the Auctions sites for a Lol and the pricing goes for more than what we sell it. Buyers premiums are like 16%+ these days. You might get a bargain, but the personally think the risk isn't worth it, Especially as there is no quality control & no warranty.

          • +1

@Calmago: The Australian Consumer Law covers buyers for warranty on new & used goods.

            • +1

@mlakmlak: Not at auctions buddy. All goods are sold as is.

Last week I sat in on an online auction selling a small fleet of these hoping to pick up a bargain, I figured if these eBay shops are selling at $250 they're probably about half that at auction. Every one of them sold for $200. For an extra $50 you can buy one of these which provides refurbishment, warranty/ insulation from DOA risk, delivery and some kind of after sales service - that's fifty bucks well spent.

The negs on ebay suggest otherwise to 'refurbished' and 25% is pretty high for insurance (& a hug). Your money I guess.

        • +1

I've bought 15-20 PCs from this seller over the last few years including some 9020s. So far all fault free, as advertised, and at least some of the SSDs aren't original which implies a bit of refurbishing happens.

Not sure about the negs, maybe I've just been lucky.

  • If they have Win 7 COA sticker is the Windows 10 licence legit? I thought that free upgrade had ended?

    • +2

Officially it ended, but it still works.. .

      • +1

Can confirm as of 5 days ago. Moved my M.2 (sata) SSD from my old PC to new, required re-activation. Put in a spare Win 7 Pro key, bam, done.

  • At the very least thanks for making me aware of the 10% off.

  • How are the RAM configured on the HP? 1x8GB or 2x4GB? And the 16GB version is I guess 2x8GB?

    • Same question, as I have 2*4GB DDR3 laying around.

Makes it a difficult purchase when Associated OP is online but doesn't answer the question.

        • +1

They probably don't know, or cant guarantee what's in them, probably best to assume the worst…

I bought a Dell 9020 i7 with 16GB ram from them, it came with 12GB, the original 2x 4GB 1600 sticks and an odd 1333 stick, they ended up sending me another 2 odd mismatched 4GB sticks of 1600… (looking up the service number mine was originally an 8GB with 2x 4GB sticks… the ones that were originally 16gig have 2x 8GB sticks) …. and another issue I've discovered since, the front USB3 ports are flakey, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, they seem to have a bad connection, the joys of refurb computers, frustrating…

My bro in law grabbed a i7 16GB 9020 from them also, it arrived with a i5, it had to be sent back for a refund… Hes since bought another one, it seems ok so far….

          • -1

@FLICKIT: Thanks for your feedback. OP could have replied s/he doesn't know instead of giving us the golden silence.

    • +1

You could send an email through eBay for the quickest response.

But ram configurations are mixed and not something that we are able to guarantee.

  • Excuse my ignorance, but does "use of the full PCI-E slot" in the HP mean you can fit a non-low profile graphics card in it? Like a 1060?

    • +1

in fact, you can fit 2 in (although the the bottom slot is right up against the PSU, so you'd have to use a very slim and well as low profile GPU. I bought one of these from a Grays online auction with an i7 4790 for $230, I took the i7 out to put in a higher end build, put an i3 4130 in it and 2 HD6450 1GB GPUs in it in crossfire configuration, and overclocked them to the max in MSI Afterburner.
It can play eSports titles quite well now.

  • Could these systems be rehoused in a new case? OR does the MB have custom cable headers? Id like to buy it and then upgrade case to slot in a full size gfx card.

    • +1

the hp has custom header not sure about dell

    • +1

It varies between brands and models but generally not. Many don't even use standard power supply connections.

    • +1

I am farely sure the Dell has a custom power supply header, i believe 4 pin so that is a no

    • +1

      sometimes.

For example the 9010 desktop version and tower version has standard ATX board and PSU connectors. But you'll need to use the fan out of the unit as it has a fan sensor.

Sometimes the Acer stocks too are standard ATX format.

  • +1

Thanks. I've grabbed one! Appreciate any price drop :)

      No worries bud.
