It's unclear to me how anyone could consider this convoluted pricing structure attractive over paying, say, $5/mo.

    • better off with aldi $15 GO plan for the year

    • Because they would be happy to save 2 bucks. Lol

  • +2

the plan has been at OZ for 5+ years

    • This, been using it forever for the spare phone.

  • And $11 port out fee as per point 8 on the last page of https://tpg.com.au/sites/default/files/doc/Mobile_T4G_Brochu…

  • this has been around for yonks and is standard pricing. the $20 pre-payment is a pita and keeps topping up every time your balance drops below $10

TPG's non refundable deposits and fees are not worth the hassle. They hound you relentlessly for the $11 cancellation fee. The $15 ALDI SIM is a better option for long expiry dates.

50mb is nothing these days and the excess data charge of 10c per mb is ridiculous.

  • with initial minimum charge of $31 from $1/mth + $20 Prepayment + $10 sim).

Plus the porting out fee! Dont even bother

  • $10 for the SIM?? Wow !!

  • Great for receiving work or affairs calls and txt.

  • Better value is the $30 voda sim for $9 at Coles right now, which you can put on 365 long life prepaid!

    • May I ask which kind of plan it is?

  • What a joke & nonsense company TPG is - $10 sim fee ? Highest margin for a mudune product.

    +$20 Prepayment + $10 Sim Charge

I'd say that's a minus - minus then minus another $11 when you get fedup & leave!
Just when you think they can't fleece you any more…..you read the PDS

Voicemail Deposit 15¢ per 30 seconds
Voicemail Retrieval 15¢ per 30 second

they obviously think there's still some suckers out there they haven't already conned.

  • Seems like a good option for keeping a number alive.

Don't forget the exit fee you'll pay shortly afterwards after you realise how bad TPG is!!

  • Wow! Did not realize there is so much hate @ TPG. Lesson learnt lol!

  • Just got one to use for a solar inverter to upload its data in a house that doesn't have permanent internet. Just need an old 4G USB modem and router.

    • Glad it works for your situation, as long as you are aware of all costs that TPG charges. From the 7 negs you know that this particular deal from TPG is not popular with ozbargainers LOL!

      • Worst case the inverter needs more data and uses too much excess, well just dump it and it'll have cost $31. Worth trying.

It'd probably work as a receive only or emergency call phone if you turned off data and only updated the phone over wifi (or in a dumb phone).

        • Hope it works for you mate! :-)!
