    I remember the days when Pro Evolution was so big and was more popular than Fifa. Can't believe they have to give it out freely now.

          I know it was popular and maybe closer to FIFA in sales than it is now but I don't think it was ever more popular. Happy to be proved wrong.

            @GodsSon23: I think in regards to japan and europe it was more popular than fifa. Its a shame how far it fell but its been getting pretty good again over the last couple iterations. The only thing FIFA had on them in the past was licenses. Pro evo didnt have the names for lots of clubs like Liverpool was Merseyside Red for example, and lots of the players had butchered names. There were database files you could download and modify your save for the ps2 that would fix everything up. But I'm sure not everyone wanted to do that. If they had the licenses back then, fifa would have been completely buried. Only 10 year olds would be playing it since it was easier. They still would have fallen by the wayside though as they did later. The game became pretty poor for a number of years. Just weird as a pro evo fan to have moved to fifa which had gotten substantially better. Competition is good.

      Given it's the new version, and there is the option to buy it for $99.95, it just seems like it's a promotional trial.

      I think you are right but the title could be taken that the game is free for a limited time, not that your time is limited. Wording is ambiguous as all hell.

        Yeah that's the issue. In PES 2016 they were in and unlicensed, but then PES got the Euro 2016 licence and then full licenced Croatia was in the game from then on, even with the pre-Euro 2016 outfits as well as the Euro 2016 ones. It's such a weird and convoluted thing, these licences :/

              @Iggemo: pes wonder why their product never sell well yet they buy new smaller leagues licences just to use players names. For example they have full partnerships with Celtic, Rangers, Monaco and have promised the stadiums of being in the game yet we are 2 months into the games life and still no sign of player face scans/ stadiums being added. Now with no champions league and a bunch of leagues with 0 authenticity the game is going to get boring quite quickly

                @toblerone21: Which is a shame cos i think it's a much better game than FIFA. I tried playing FIFA 2018 and found it soooo slow and boring and tedious. Just ultra focused on realism at the expense of fun (kinda like another popular game that just came out btw!). I prefer PES more but i really miss games like the FIFA WC 2010 game which was absolutely a blast to play online. Now it's just boring tedium, such a shame.

    Not to be that guy but this is most likely what it says "Play for a limited time".

    All of the previous "free weekend" games show up as "You own this" until the free weekend is up. MS has different licence structures that all show "You own this" if you are applicable.

    • EA Access
    • Xbox One Games obtained from Games with Gold (Requires an active Xbox Live sub)
    • Xbox Game Pass
    • Free Weekend/Play for a Limited Time.
    • And of course if you just outright bought the game.

    Each of these licences comes up as "You own this game".

    Got the game and played a few matches. Should be the best PES ever I reckon. I am impressed with the gameplay. Hopefully this is not just "limited time" ownership lol.
