But how to add to cart?

Been keep buying this for my pocket WiFi and HeyYou.

    • +4
    • For heyyou, you can just edit your profile to a random number before creating a new account with your current mobile and reuse it

also after creation, the popup asking to verify mobile can be closed via top left X icon without completing verification

theyre just data harvesting. sms verification is an excuse

      • can be closed via top left X icon without completing verification

I think without SMS verification you can't use it.

So I have to keep using gmail [email protected] to create new account, new mobile and referral.

        • even if it forces u to verify sms u can keep reusing teh same number using what i said

          • @furythree:

            reusing teh same number

You mean mobile number? It won't let you use a mobile number used before in their record.

          • @furythree: Mate have you tried to order doing what you're saying? The app does not let you order no matter what if you dont verify with a new number. If you have found the holy grail, then please let us know. Thanks.

    • sorry to be off-topic - what pocket WIFI you are using with the Kogan Sim card?

  • +5

this is my standard monthly "plan" now

    • +3

This is my standard bi-monthly plan now. Alternating with effectively free $40 vodafone sims ($20 but free $20 netflix card) every second month to keep my number.

      • +1

How would one go about getting the $20 netflix cards?

      • How do you claim the $20 Netflix Gift Cards? I've had a look but the one deal I found seemed to be expired. Could you perhaps link me the deal that you use please?

        Thanks :)

    • +1

Same for my pocket WiFi and never use up all the data.

  • Will buy one ta OP.

  • +2

Thanks, OP. I ordered 2 for my parents visiting from overseas.

  • +6

I've been a new customer for the 6th time lol

    • Same here, will they allow if we keep activating new sims using the same name? Coz once the 30 days expired I just throw the sim away. Won't bother with that mobile number.

      • +3

will they allow if we keep activating new sims using the same name

So far no problem, I have 4-5 old Sims and a few more for visitors.

        • Do you guys just keep porting your number?

          • @mcmelonhead: I would assume so… unless if they don't care about losing their current phone number.

      • Unless you activate more than 5 in a 30-day period. Then you'll have to phone Kogan and explain you won't be recharging the earlier ones so they can delete them from their system, and/or activate SIM #6 (and up) manually over the phone.

    • Mind helping me understand how this works? Are you dumping your number every time?

      • Nah, i just activate new sims each time lol one of the questions ask when you active the sim is something like "have you activated more than 4 sims?" I just answer no each time and then just activate it normally. havent had an issues lol

        • new sims with the same phone number or are you using a new number every time?

  • Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 14/01/2019

Can buy more for the next two months.

    • If we buy less it may drop to 49c! lol.

  • Nice! ordered one, still got 2 vouchers waiting for sim cards to arrive.
Is there a faster way to get free sims in advance?

    • Is there a faster way to get free sims in advance?

I have a few from before when they were free, still OK to use it to activate with the vouchers.

    • +2

Yes, you can buy prepaid starter pack here for free.

    • Is there a faster way to get free sims in advance?

The free sim MIGHT only be if included with another order. They change it from time to time. But normally the SIM (only, with no plan/data/calls) is $2 shipped. So the idea is, buy an extra one now while it's free (if it works), or only $1. Then you always have a spare SIM ready to activate.

  • Every time I try to activate with these 30 day offers I get an error saying to contact system admin.

Anyone know how to fix it?

    • Hard to say with so little info.
Have you been using fake infos? Did you pass the ID check? Try with a different credit card/browser/internet connection when activating.

      • I pass the ID check. And I have used multiple SIM starter packs and credit cards.

I will try on a different browser I guess. I have been using Chrome.

        • Can you provide a screenshot?

          credit cards

5 limit activation per debit/credit card number.

          • @cwongtech: Will get a screenshot when I try again tonight.

          • @cwongtech: Is this 5 limit from first-hand experience? I read it on OzBargain before. Just need to keep in mind that I'll need to order, use and cancel some debit cards once in a while.

            • +1

@peterpeterpumpkin: 1st hand experience for activations within the same week at least.
Just use some prepaid visa cards if you need :)

              • @cwongtech: can you tell me more about these "prepaid visa cards"?
Any fees or other requirements to be able to get one?

                  • @superforever: The Australia Post cards have a $6.95 fee and minimum $20 deposit.
Was hoping for something more economical but thanks for the link.

                    • @Travis J:

Was hoping for something more economical but thanks for the link.

"Oh hello bank I have lost my wallet and my debit card"
Free, new card number, new expiry :)

                    • @Travis J: The other tech, Zotech, says he has tried over 20 on the same debit card. But I suppose with a backup card you never use (e.g. CUA for the cash back) you can declare it lost every 6 months (before you come under investigation or put on an National Checklist of the Irresponsible").

I haven't heard of Divipay in a while but can't be bothered signing up on their website just in case it's still just a waiting list…

                    • @Travis J: divipay use to be great but its down for until sometime next year now

          • +1

@cwongtech: Activated over 20 on the same debit card, no issue.

            • @Zotech: Strange.

I've definitely hit a similar limit of about 5 activations per Credit Card. Pointed it out last time and there was also another guy (unless that was you as well) that said he was able to activate 20 on the same card.

              • @illumination: To be honest, it is probably more like 30.
I always use all my correct details with a temp email and never had a problem.

          • @cwongtech: Yeah, this /\ or they don't like him changing credit cards so often. I use the same CC every time and don't have any problems.

I use Firefox and driver license.

    • I did that before in my last activation putting fake DOB and won't pass the ID check, it actually locked up your activation session, even clear cache wont help, only way is to ring customer service and ask them to completely reset your activation details, so you can start from fresh again.

      • I did not provide fake dob. The ID check was passed each time I tried.

  • whats the shipping time like? will i get it before monday ?

    • whats the shipping time like? will i get it before monday ?

From Kogan direct will take a few days from last Groupon deal took longer, Monday may be not.

      • My groupon one hasn't arrived from the last time their deal was out.

        • +1

          My groupon one hasn't arrived

Mine did arrive but took very long but I used one of the old free sim activated.

    • Doubt it. It's been 9-12 days for me every time.

  • +7

At this rate I will have a pile of Kogan SIM cards, soon I will need to catalogue them.

    • +2

Lol … already do that. I have several Vodafone and Kogan sims (phone and data; some not activated as yet), so I have to note the activation and expiry dates of them all … and whose name each is one is in. The Kogan ones deactivate after 90 days following end activation expiry if not recharged. Not sure about Vodafone ones; could be one year (well … used to be).

      • 3 years old Vodafone just activated.

        • Thank you for the update about those … I have a few and thought they only lasted a year.

      • If you're saying Kogan SIMs expire (before opening and activating them)… That's the first I've heard of it.

        • No, did not mean that. I understand once they have been activated and, say that 30 days runs out, if not recharged within the 90 days following, then the account is deactivated and you lose that particular mobile number. I don't actually know if the sim card could be used for another activation though; never actually thought about that. Don't know about totally unused Kogan sim cards although I have a couple of spares.

  • Buy now or wait until its 49cents? :D

  • +1

i got a few premium numbers from kogan sims that comes with these vouchers with 04XX ABA AAA

    • -1

      Any ABBA?

  • Was anybody successfully able to use the voucher from the last deal (that expires on 10/11) but NOT activate the SIM card as a result? The previous deal mentioned the SIM card could be activated up to 1 year after but you had to register/use the voucher by the 10th November?

    • +4

I've activated on a 2 year old SIM before.

      • +1

Me too. But I still activate oldest SIM first just in case.

      • Silly question, you activated it using an old/expired activation code?

        • +3

          No. Expired codes are expired.

    • +1

The last deal was activate by 8th November. I realised at 11:45pm last night it was the 8th - and had to quickly activate my last SIM or lose it.

  • Thanks op, 32gb will come in handy.

  • Kogan sim use vodafone and vodafone sims have no expiry so assume the kogan sims also have no expiry.

    • +1

I believe Vodafone sims now have 1 year expiry.

    • -1

Kogan sims expire after 90 days from initial activation expiry if not recharged.

      • +1

They're talking about before activating - still sealed.

        • 👍

      • One plus vote for honest mistake :-).

  • +2

Perfect for the overseas visitor over xmas/new year :)

    • Wish it was as easy when we travel overseas. It's so expensive to get a temporary service in the US.

    • exactly, my dad is coming over for a month in early Dec.
Are you going to activate on your phone first so it's ready to go?

      • +1

Voucher expires on 14/1/19, can activate anytime before that.

      • +2

It takes no longer than 10 minutes to activate.
Activate it before you head to the airport.

  • Is Kogan9 a typo or something new?

      • Thanks, appears to be an alias for Kogan.com.

      • +1

Kogan's way to measure the response to their channel 9 campaign. Now inflated by ozbargain post.

        • not really cos the OP link does not go there, it links to the end target.

    • +2

Most likely, he posted on his mobile w/ quick copy and paste.

      Edit…LOL Kogan9 = Kogan + Channel 9??

    • +8

      Who let you in?

      • -2

You can always just read on fella
But i guess you feel bigger now

        • +1

But you could also just..ify why you shared it? It's $15 vs $0.99 so it doesn't seem logical.

    • +1

      For 15x the price??

  • anyone have issues so far with identity checks / having more than 4 sim cards?

    • +1

I have problem with driver license, I have to use medicare.

    • Personally no issue. Probably used my ID for about 15+ services?
