      The thread you posted is referring to another Group Buying site that ran a deal with an individual misrepresenting himself as the owner of the Hotel. In actual fact he only owned 1 room!

          Agreed, not the group deal site that will be held responsible after people make the purchase and don't get their money's worth. I think the same 1300 number throws a lot of people off since the story at http://ourhols.com/ tells us of constant problems with nobody answering the phone and unanswered emails/messages.

        What is the extent of your "guarantee"? If you can provide enough assurances people are more likely to be interested.

          Good question, itx. It may be a different provider, but I would be wary unless there was some kind of easy way to get my money back. Does OurDeal have a contact phone number? This seems to be an ongoing problem with group buy sites. Poor customer service, and hard to get refunds.

        just a suggestion, please make sure you can come up with good booking system.
        different provider maybe, but same hotel, right?? as i can see, the issues were with the place's services and booking system.

          Just to clarify, the Ouffer deal wasn't managed by the Hotel directly. It was handled a 3rd party misrepresenting himself to be the Hotel.

I have stayed at the Mantra and now live near Ettalong - it really is a beautiful little place and I would recommend staying here to anyone (just dont go through shonky dealers - look at lastminute.com or wotif.com to find cheaper rates and the hotel will match the lowest genuine internet price you can find…).

    Same phone number, new ABN, and very little explaination from our deal about the guarantee. does not worth it. if Ourdeal can provide 200% back guarantee should this deal a shonky deal again then i will be willing to give it a go. This ettalong deal has been running both on Ouffer and Scoopon and both shonky deal!!. good thing Ouffer refund my money

    The same phone number & recent change in business number is a sure sign of a shonky deal.

    I thought id call the number 1300 668 827 to see, try make a bookin everything seemed legit, until the lady on the other end couldnt find a free weekend stay for the next year!!!! she actually told me "look im all the way to feb 2012, do you really want me to keep looking?" her voice seemed like she has to tell all the guest the same thing,

    this doesnt make any sense a quick search of the 'la krisp group' reveals that they have been on most of these new group buy sites in the last few weeks, they sold 100+ last week almost 200 this week? & already their full for the next year?

    Does that mean my coupon for 12 months will expire because its subject to availability, which seems to be non existent.

    Maybe im wrong but it seems everyone here is right onto this type of shonkyness, so ill have to sit this one out. i just cant believe that these group sites are letting this happen, surely they would want to see some ownership or ability to handle so many bookings - lets hope they put their money where their mouth is if people need to be refunded.

    Let me know if anyone who has bought has any luck, if its legit ill try jump on the next one - it is a great deal.

      I think the deal sites need to review how they market this.
      It is more than likely weekends will be full up as most people would want to go on weekends. Availability would probably be for week nights.

    Hey All,

    New to this type of thing & so far have had no luck, first purchase was for a restaurant voucher, i called to book in which was all ok until i mentioned i had a voucher, then they were full except Tuesday/Wednesday :( - not much good with the kids & full time work.
    Now this, tried to enquire about dates this morning, i was told full until the new year for w/e & in fact their is only one room available for this deal??
    I was in shock with only 1 room & 12 months its not possible everyone can come, even if we did want weekdays - the are only so many days in a year.
    Ill be asking for a refund on this, how can you sell something thats not available, its a disgrace.

    Seems that there are so many of these deal sites now & they are just after a quick dollar in commission. OurDeals should be ashamed, ill be taking my self off your list.

    P.S No i dont want a hair cut, restaurant voucher, dancing lessons or art classes for 60% off - IVE HAD ENOUGH
