  • The second link is wrong. If it's this one, OzSupply is cheaper:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/offer-listing/B01M1FCDWS/ref=dp…

    • Have had bad experience with Baseus cables, they stop working after a few months even when claimed MFi. I’d stick with Blitzwolf cables, way better quality.

  • EDIT meant to reply to MJ1's comment above:
This one you linked is the last generation USB C cable, shape is more rigid and no LED indicator

    • +1

Gotcha - I saw you were a seller so thought it might be the one. Nice prices on these!

  • Is the 2nd cable definitely a Lightning cable? When I click on the link it says:

Baseus Angled IP Cable with Charging LED Indicator, MVP Mobile Gaming Collection, Elbow Plug (1m, Black)

Not actually sure what an "IP Cable" is?

    • Unfortunately it's not a Mfi cable so can't legally use words like Lightning, iPhone, iPad or APPLE!? on Amazon.
The charging speed will be capped at 2A10W due to this restriction. In comparison, Mfi cables will go up to 2.4A12W.

    • So would be slower than the Blitzwolf 2.4A ones?

I like the angled connection idea.

      • Correct, will be 2W slower than Mfi certified cable when charging with the iPad charger(12w) or other fast chargers that support Apple 2.4A protocol.

      • Ok, still be handy to have a couple of 2m ones for the kids in the back.

  • How does the Baseus PD Car Charger compare to Anker. I have the Anker I need a spare.

    • Which Anker specifically do you have/are you looking to compare with?

      • Well there's only 1
        https://www.anker.com/products/variant/usb-c-car-charger-pow…
This is what I bought off Amazon US. Works pretty good and look pretty, but too expensive to buy another for spare.

        • How did you get that? I think it was released after Amazon US stopped shipping to Aus. I've been waiting for it to be available in Amazon AU.

          • @tukanglistrik: Very expensive through shopmate, but I bundled it with discount coupon and a couple of other on sale stuff off Amazon US. It's still VERY expensive though.

        • +1

This Anker A2229 has very similar output power from either USB-C or USB-A port, the biggest advantage of Baseus over this one is the fast charging protocols on the USB-A port sporting QC4.0 which is backward compatible with QC3.0 and Huawei SFC etc., whereas the Anker one is PowerIQ2.0 (equivalent to QC2.0 (stepped voltage).

To be honest, Anker one would have better build quality overall. But Baseus should be perfectly fine as a spare.

          • @Mostly Melbourne: Cheers, will get one when get home.

          • @Mostly Melbourne: So I grabbed two to use the code, will Cashrewards cash back work for another 11% off excl GST price? That would be awesome.

            • @Bigboomboom: Not 100% sure how much will be tracked by Cashrewards. Since no promo code is required in this case, they shouldn't be able to decline for "Coupon code not listed on their site" reason. But if anything goes south with cashrewards, Tightarse should be able to help out. Request a tax invoice from us if you need one once the order is shipped

  • First QC4.0 charger that I've seen.

    15V and 20V output on USB-C PD, need a 24V input.

    • Correct, I ran some tests with it on a 12V cigarette lighter socket, it was able to output 30W on the 12V PDO level with the ZMI QB820, no overheating issue after 1 hour (thermal image shows peak at 40 degrees at the tip)

  • silly question, can i charge 3 devices on the one cable at the same time?

    • Yes you can, when charging multiple devices, it will max out at 3.5A across 3 outputs, sufficient for charging a phone and a couple accessories (e.g. wireless headphone) at the same time.

  • Note when using both USB-C and USB-A ports at the same time, the maximum output is reduced to 5V5A

Rep, does it mean that if I'm charging two phones they're reduced to 5V 2.4A each? Also it means that I can't charge both a laptop and a phone at the same time?

    • Not exactly 2.4A each, but 5V and by demand of the devices. So correct you can't charge both laptop and a phone at the same time.
