    Does it have auto duplex?

    • +4

No, you'd have to look at a similar samsung model for that feature. This model does do wireless scanning to macs though. The samsung doesn't do that, you'd have to scan to a usb stick, or plug the mac directly to the printer.

This is quite a good printer though. It's cheap to run as well, compared to inkjets.

iampivot is spot on, no duplex and I don't think you can add that function if you want it.

WHen I was buying I wanted duplex but couldnt find a wireless unit with duplex and everything else this has in the sub $500 price range. Prices may have dropped since as this unit is definitely cheaper now.

There are only a couple of wireless MFC with duplex to choose from.

This printer (and I think all Brother lasers) has a separate toner cartridge (1,500 pages) and drum (12,000 pages). Most other lasers have both combined in the toner cartrdige.

Not sure which works out cheaper, but I would guess the others.

The drum unit costs the same as the printer once it's used up time for a new printer

i bought this samsung printer from PCDIY for $220

    https://www.pcdiy.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=308&products…

it's had previous ozbargain posts in the past

it's networked (ableit not wireless - however, i plug it into my airport express via ethernet cable). It's has a cheap cost per page (it has a high capacity cartridge and is around 2c per page)

Not raining on this deal - just letting people know there are other multifunction printers out there that are around the same price (or a little cheaper). My printer was easy to hook up and prints flawlessly from my mac. It did so without the need for loading the samsung drivers from the included CD onto my computer. (However, for scanning, it needed the drivers from the CD).

Not sure if brother is a better company - i think it may be (just stay away from HP)

I own this MFC and this is the cheapest price I have seen. +1 The box is enormous and free shipping is a good deal. DSE were trying to sell this for $349 only a few weeks ago.

GreatWhiteHunter, where do you normally buy your TN2150/TN2130 toner from? Always looking for cheap toner deals.

I havent had the need to buy any as yet. My printing volumes are not large, only about 20 pages per week on average. I use the scanner more.

But my intention would be to checkout staticice and then price match the best deal at Officeworks.

    • Get your toner off ebay dude, heaps cheaper! :)

Second eBay for cheap toner ;-)

Though I noticed that Officeworks have really reduced their prices for the TN-2150:

IIRC, these were priced at around $110+

  • So is this printer worth twice as much as this one- Brother 2270DW

Make up your own mind about that.

This one is wireless and is a multifunction - that's got to be worth something.

Hard to find a cheaper wireless multifunction.
