I’m not sure if the DVD driver on my PC is still working or not as I can’t find any disk to test……

    • +1

Pull out the absolute last resort, graphics card disk.

      It’s a CD though I think

      • +1

Just a reminder that you gotta activate the program before Nov 30 if you'd like to give it a shot in a few weeks or months. This giveaway license will guarantee lifetime use of version 3.9.0. So you're welcome to test when digging out some discs of your DVD collection. Hope you enjoy a nostalgic look back at the 90s.;) https://media.giphy.com/media/EoCPvzEv8Ha0g/giphy.gif

Borrow a dvd from your local library.

      • Some Lib'y discs have protective layers that can make them uncopyable (& sometimes unplayable…)

        • The library has normal dvd's? This software can read protected dvd's

          • +6

@Savas: think they mean the 300+ scratches

            • @muncan: Oh right. That's funny!

              • +2

@Savas: Back in my day, studios put Bruce Willis in movies as another form of copy protection.

        • +7

I have never seen library abbreviated to "Lib'y" before…

      • There's probably also a free rental from VideoEzy kiosks.

  • +1

    thanks

  • +3

Nice idea. But.. DVD? I actually assumed it was bluray too, but nope.

    • Sorry for the inconvenience that all WinX products don't support bluray, though bluray is awesome.

      • "OZBARGAIN12" doesn't work… Where is the Activation Code?

        • +1

Please hit the button "Get Free" and then you'll start to download a zip file including the license code and installation setup. Here is the screenshot FYI: https://i.imgur.com/boFFjKk.png "OZBARGAIN12" is not the activation code for the giveaway, but the coupon for deals of the event page.

          • +1

@Jannie: Since OZBARGAIN12 is unnecessary, I have removed it as a coupon code.

            • @alvian: Understood.

            • @alvian: Understood. Thank you for update. :)

    Thanks OP

does anyone still use DVDs, I can't remember when was the last time I use it DVD player on my PC.

    • With kids they are handy.

      • +1

Agree with you on that, they can use them as makeshift frisbees.

    • there is a DVD section in Coles/WW's. Plus Sanity is still in business in virtually all shopping centres.

      • +3

Sanity - I know but how?

      • +1

        virtually all shopping centres

        Not in Sydney

    • I just bought 10 dvds from amazon. mostly marvel movies at around $5 a pop.

  • +3

Walk in to a JB Hi-Fi or Sanity and there are just as many DVDs on display as there are Blu-rays and significantly more of them than 4K discs. DVDs are alive and kicking (for now).
Software like this is handy for converting your library for storage on HDD. Sorry, HDDs are like SSDs but… oh, just Google it.

  • +3

True fact, I just drove past a video rental place in SA that is still open. A real shop not a kiosk. I did take a dirt road to get here though and nowhere is open on Sundays.

I also removed the DVD player from my laptop to install a HDD shuttle, awesome upgrade.

This offer would appeal to my 60 year old mum who would then ask me to use WinX for her where I would ask her which movies she would like and aquire them a more modern way.

  • OP, can this downsample from DVD9 to DVD5?

    • Unfortunately, it can't shrink and compress DVD9 to DVD5. WinX DVD Copy Pro allows you to copy D9 to D9 (8.5 GB), copy D5 to D5 (4.7 GB), or clone intact DVD video audio data to blank DVD-/+R (DL), DVD-/+RW (DL), DVD RAM. Here are suggestions from our support team if you wanna try WinX in this circumstance: you can compress a DVD-9 movie into one DVD-5 with all the special features, menus and subtitles & languages remaining. Also, you can burn a DVD-9 movie into two DVD-5s without quality loss. All can be played on both home and PC DVD Player.

  • Hey OP, what about a Mac version?
    🥺

    • Thank you for your interest. But We're afraid that this program is only developed for Windows PC. For Mac versions giveaway of Digiarty's other products, please follow the MacX DVD store. Thanks!

    What's a DVD?

  • +2

For those that don't read instructions and try and skip steps like me 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

The license key is located in the text document in the zip file and is named "read me - license key.txt"

  • I downloaded the program put a DVD in but it seems my laptop can't play DVD's anymore even though it used to be able to, is there a way I can get it to play DVD's again so I can use this program?

  • +1

If I format my PC and have to reinstall, will I be able to reactivate this software again on a new install?
I had a bad experience with a free code from EaseUS and they told me to get stuffed when I had to reinstall my OS on a new SSD.

    • Unfortunately, this giveaway code should be activated before Nov 30. So only three days left to reinstall and reactivate the program. Sorry for the inconvenience. https://media.giphy.com/media/8gWrk3QZrjF1C/giphy.gif

      • +2

So it's only really a lifetime licence for the lifetime of your computer, or until you reinstall Windows? That is a shame.

Still, thanks for the free copy regardless :)

        • +1

You could make an iso backup of your current Windows including the activated program

          • @Fobsessive: @Fobsessive Very effective tips! Thanks!

        • We're sorry for the inconvenience. As it's a universal license for participants of our giveaway event only, we have to set a timeframe on the activation process in case of the disclosure and misuse afterward. Our developer team has been improving the database of our registered users to guarantee the benefits of giveaways and purchases. Although this program has not been updated the new registration system, some of our programs like WinX DVD Ripper Platinum now requires an email address when activating with the license. Actually, it will be better off for registered users to redeem the license key in such a circumstance you mentioned. Again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience. We are always looking for ways to better our service, and highly appreciate any feedbacks of you folks here. :)

    I don't even have a DVD drive…… Why not

  • And it seems there is no way to output to MP4 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

    Back to Handbrake for me

    • however, it is currently ripping a backup of a DVD that Handbrake refused because of copyright. That is a win!
