  • That’s a great price!

  • Damn! Bought one for RRP two weeks ago! Amazing price!

    • RRP? That's not the ozbargain way

  • FYI it's cheaper on goodguys commercial when I checked a couple weeks ago.

    • anychance you have a current price on them at the commercial site. Just waiting on the 5day turn around for the verification..

      • $2622 and $78.32 delivery(i didn't notice the delivery before). With the cashreward this may actually be a better deal.

edit: no emount lens on the site either.

        • thanks mate. just got a hold of union gave the same price but stated no stock for pickup. So will be an order and wait for delivery i dare say and time frame will be dependant on SONY

          • @pulsarlx07: You're welcome. There wasn't an option for pick up either.

            • @Caped Baldy: Due to lack of stock. Apparently if you go through union they can order it in. Im not sure of time frames tho. And sony kiosk has refused to price match

  • +1

Don't forget Cashreward also which I think is doing 2.5% on Good Guys Tech stuff, which is about $67.98.

    • Can cover the cost of delivery.

Great price. This camera is solid! Been using for the last few months for weddings - image quality and functionality is on par (actually better) than its bigger brother a7r3

Still torn between this and the EOS R. Hard because all I need for the EOS R is the body and EF adapter and I'm done and that's about the same as this at the moment. Meanwhile, with this, I'd need about $4-5k of extra gear to get back to where I'm at. But IBIS and a company that doesn't cripple their cameras are awfully tempting. But then all the lenses are $500-1000 more :\

    • whereabout are you in australia? if you are in VIC, try to go to canon website, book for EOS R introduction workshop for free.. you can see the function and learn more about it before making your decision, but unfortunately black friday deal can't wait :)

i was there yesterday, for about 30 mins introduction at south melbourne experience, parking, pay not more than 1 hour altough it stated 90 mins workshop

    • The AF works quite well on the Sony with the Sigma Mc-11 adaptor and canon lenses. Sony is the better camera is essentially all aspects, including price

      • $2699 for the EOS R at camerahouse now so cheaper than this deal. $169 for the adapter at digidirect. Have a flash for the canon too spare batteries, some ef-s lenses, L lenses, remote etc. Not convinced on the AF based on reviews.

If only it were better in all aspects. I mostly do photos so 4K full frame isn’t a huge deal. The screen on the canon is better and the pixel count. And a few of the extra lenses i’m looking at are $1k more for the Sony version, plus the second hand market is great if buying canon due to the switchers.

Not that the canon doesn’t have issues. No IBIS, continuous AF not there yet. Low light better on the Sony.

Colour is better on the canon too, though close enough I suppose. The RF mount is technically superior and more future proof too, though may be a moot point for me given the price of them so far.

If I didn’t have the canon gear probably go Sony, if my usage justified another $5k spend, might also go the Sony. Think I may just procrastinate another 12 months. 60D is still pretty good for my usage, except in low light…

        • Fair enough, good analysis. I think the EOS R will drop even further quickly so maybe wait a bit. I don't think the sales are as high as they hoped.

          • @qvinto: Yeah, well so many of the sales still exclude the A7III, but bam, first sale after the EOS R has been released and it’s $500 off. Though some of that I guess will be the popularity of the Sony vs the limited supply.

Also wondering if Canon might release a not gimped body too in the next year, not holding my breath though. On timing or price.

            • @[Deactivated]: I would not be expecting canon to not cripple the EOS R line cameras for a while. They still want DSLR sales in stills and cinema line for video. I think what you will see is basically a high MP version of the EOS R at 50-60MP but with the same shooting speed, AF and video compromises

              • @qvinto: Unfortunately for them their competitors won't give them the choice. If they don't cannibalise themselves, someone else will (indeed they already are). The only reason they're not in big trouble is they make amazing glass (still some of them are best in class) and they have a lot of it out there.

I think they'll be more willing to drop the DSLRs sooner rather than later. I only see one more year of DSLR models. The cinema line will take them more pain before they touch I imagine. For Canon they'll no doubt want to push the mirrorless FF line because they can sell a lot of nice RF glass, at similar premiums (or more) to Sony. Their EF lenses probably don't have too many more updates left before they shift focus away.

It's really impressive how much Sony went 'FU' with the A7III and didn't cripple it. For them it makes a lot of sense, what's $500-1500 on a body when they make several times that with every switcher that buys new glass.

  • The product "3074457345619339185" cannot be ordered.

Can't place order, so it's no more available?

    • Looks like it's been taken down T_T

    • Need to share that I went to get a grey import a7III for $2575 from e-finity ebay store ($250 off) but the code expired whilst I was paying for it.
      LE SIGH.

  • Camerapro a7r3 $3145 aftercash

    • That's definitely a good deal. Plus with JB Hi Fi price matching + combined with 5% off gift cards (if this is available to you) that brings it closer to $2900 for the A7Rm3.
