  • I don't want to be that guy, but does anyone know if this is a better TV than the Hisense 65P7? Thanks in advance!

    • May be check previous deal.

      • Had a look through, no mention on the comparison. Cheers for the link though. If anyone has any information that'd be great! Cheers.

Not the same size but I got the 55P7 before I returned it for a 55X7500F. Image quality was better on the Hisense but the software was terrible. The Sony's software is much better and less annoying but it's image quality isn't as good. So just depends what you prioritise.

      • Thanks for the info! Can you elaborate on the software vs image quality debate. Is the image quality much worse on the Sony? Is the software unbearable on the Hisense? Thanks!

        • The software isn’t that bad. Image should always trump software since you can get a cheap Xbox to take care of Netflix, etc.

        • Image was sharper and more vibrant, better blacks. The 55 on the Sony is an 8 bit panel vs a 10 bit om the Hisense so it's to be expected. But personally it's not that much worse. I was controlling the tv with Alexa which I think was making the Hisense tv wig out. I don't think their software was coded properly for CEC control.

  • Compared to last hisense deal at HN I reckon this is the better buy

    • Yeah I heard the hisense speaker is not good.

You don’t buy modern TVs for their speakers.

I don't want to turn on receiver just to watch news.

@superforever: Pretty sure all TVs can handle the news just fine.

@cnut: Depends on how crap the speaker is, I am not sure just base on people comments.

          • @superforever: I have my receiver on for all TV, mostly because the TV is smart but the family are less so ;)
Anyhow after having surround sound for so long the news seems hollow without it.

How does the TCL stack up against this model Sony?

    • Did you ever find the answer to this?
I was comparing the TCL c6US in store at JB with this sony
The salesman was plugging the sony (which was cheaper) as having a better panel, contrast and brightness but without any numbers and the TCL wasn't even switched on!

The TCL has a 10bit panel which I assume trumps this sony…

  • Hmmm this or Panasonic TH-65FX600A 65"(165cm) UHD LED LCD Smart TV for $1270.25 with free C&C from Good Guys eBay.

  • Is this a good upgrade over a Pana plasma 55" screen?

  • How does this tv compare to a Samsung?

  • +1

Anyone know the refresh rate hz on this TV? Doesn't even say on the sony product page..

    • Label on the TV at JB suggests 200hz
