Was looking around for a comparable 65" TV to the EB Games deal posted earlier.

Came across this one which appears to be cheaper and better. Below is a list of difference between this model and the x7000F as people seem to be confused. Both are 2018 models

Pros
- Android TV
- 802.11a/b/g/n/ac compared to 802.11b/g/n
- More USB Playback Codecs (Supports more Filetypes like FLAC etc)
- Bluetooth 4.1
- 4 HDMI Ports compared to 3

Cons
- Less one Audio Out Output
- No USB HDD Recording
- Arguably less attractive stand/base

  • KD43X7500F 43" is also available for $727.44 Delivered

Would this be better than Hisense 43P6?

    • +4

Not sure whether it's any better but keep in mind that Sony 43" is Manufacturer Refurbished and not New.

  • Still waiting to see 4k, HDR, 65" under $1500.
More eager to see 75" under $2000 but that might be a while, with HDR.

    • +2

Sony website says HDR10 on this model. And under $1500 as per the OP.

      • Was about to say the same thing

    • -4

dosnt the tv have to be back lit and 1000nits to qualify for HDR? i suspect no TV dose this?

  • +1

Why was other deal so popular? This tv is better and cheaper.?

    • I think people are really confused about the model numbers.

      • Even im confused with sonys model numbers…

    • +1

Agree with fuzor. I spent about 2 hours researching the difference in the model numbers compared to the other deal to make sure this was a better deal. It's hard with these newer models given they don't have many reviews or historical pricing.

This one also has an extra HDMI Port.

  • Wish I waited for this one, my TCL sucks big time

    • Whirlpool shows people having endless issues with their android tv… Glad i skipped.

      • Removed. (Incorrect reply thread)

    • What model? Why bad?

  • +1

I read this is an edge lit IPS, anyone noticed blooming or a lack of contrast?

    • +1

I have a smaller version of this TV and it doesn't have any issues with blooming or lack of contrast :)

  • +2

Added my comparison notes in the description between this and the X7000F.

  • +1

I bought the KD65X7000E couple months back when it was going for $1499. It has 4K but no Android, no Bluetooth. Not sure how that compares. I would prefer the 4K quality over android as the built in apps pretty much does the job for me.

    • How well is the picture quality? Does it look good? Also how is the HDR on it?

      • Correct me if I am wrong but I dont think this has full HDR support. It can play HDR but it scales it down to SDR

      • +1

Picture quality is awesome for the 4K videos and especially the 4K/UHD content from Netflix. And Sony has this feature called "4K Up Scaling", maybe that has something to do with enhancing the quality a bit, too.

    • +2

I recently purchased the 70” model without Android TV.
Better that way, I can hook up whichever hardware I please. (Apple TV)
The YouTube and Netflix apps built into the non-android are updated live to the latest updates anyway.
Also supports Plex, SBS, ABC iView & more.

HDR is excellent, but keep in mind you do need to go into the input settings for HDMI 2 & 3 and change it to ENHANCED to benefit from HDR. It’s off by default I have no idea why. So it won’t support HDR before turning this on. & HDMI 1 doesn’t support it.

  • A lot has mentioned that when transporting this TV it shouldn't be lied flat, is it really a huge issue to do so? Will only fit in the car if lie flat.

    • Ive transported 3, 65"s over the past year and never had an issue as LCD screens are flexi panels whereas Plasma you wouldn't lie down flat as they can crack.

      • +1

        Thanks snake. ~

  • Where's 20x flybuys points and 3% cashrewards when i want them? =((

So is this a good buy guys? Or i should say good bye and wait for another deal?

    • I think OP deserves a lot more likes for this deal

  • +1

    Pros
    - 1 Bottom RS-232C Input

Why is this listed as a pro? Aren't serial ports just for diagnostic purposes when they get sent back to the manufacturer? Or is there a purpose for the consumer?

    • -1

I think you can setup some Logitech Harmony remotes to use the port

    • I only listed the differences where a pro was inclusion over the other, no clue what that input is but will remove it just for you :)

    • +3

Yes, in more sophisticated setup (studio/bar), the RS232 controller is integrated to control the TV (replacing the IR remote)

For example, the on/off button on the remote is a 'toggle' button press 1 time it is on, press one more time it is off, etc

With RS232 control, it provide feedback about the status of the TV. In above example, if you want to turn on the TV but the TV already on, the TV will not be turn off. And many other nitty gritty

But these days the IP (as in TCP/IP) is preferred as it is wireless.

  • I believe that this is an IPS panel. This is a dealbreaker for me and maybe others as these screens tend to have poor contrast.

  • How come this has a cheaper RRP than the 7000 from the other deal?

  • +1

Damn, only if it wasnt an IPS. Probably has bad contrast.

    • I'm hoping it isn't 4K. 8K is out already. And 4K will soon be bad resolution. Too blurry compared to 8K

      • -1

Theoretically your eyes shouldnt be able to tell the difference for anything over FHD resolution. Anything over that is a marketing gimmick

        • Haha thats marketing talk in itself. I remember when Apple's Retina resolution got overtaken. Nobody now would go back to this low of resolution again even though Retina was supposedly hitting the ceiling in physical capabilities of the human eye and brain processing power.

  • +2

    Which is a better TV?
    This Sony one or https://ebay.com.au/itm/55UK6540PTD-LG-55-inch-LG-Smart-4K-U…

Trying to find a nice but cheap 4k HDR tv. Do the pictures on the TVs look good?

  • does anyone know which is the equivalent model on RTINGS for comparison?

google search only brings up x750d? https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x750d

  • Just bought one, thanks OP!

  • +1

and compared to this Panasonic https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/323286785960?ssPageName=STRK:MES… which one is better?

  • Bring on the 75" Android TV's

  • +1

I Can tell you the Sony 7500D (2 years earlier) is an excellent unit. I don't mind IPS screens (usually preferred for computer monitors over VA)
Great viewing angles not like VA where you need to park in front, great for sports. Main downside for IPS is the blacks but unless you are looking for it specifically most people wouldn't know. IPS is good for everyday family stuff.

OLED has the best blacks that's why the demos in store have space videos etc constantly playing.
For VA vs IPS maybe ask yourself will you be watching space videos or the like at home that much.

  • What is the box dimension of this does anyone know? Got to make sure it fits into the car.

    • 65 inch wont fit in a sedan. Will probably fit in hatchback.

  • +2

Disappointing .. they've just jacked up the price :(

    • Jack is everywhere.

      Jack is omnipresent.

      • +1

Unless its Headphone Jack. Hes nowhere to be seen

  • Haha didnt Ebay state that vendors aren't allowed to alter pricing after promos start. They were supposed to set pricing 7 days before promo start. I guess its more Ebay shenanigans and lies

    • Code should be DEADPIXEL

  • I am planning to order sony KD65X7500F. Would you recommend this TV or Series 7 NU7100 4K Samsung TV (UA65NU7100WXXY)
