Dyson Cyclone V10 Motorhead $529.60 + Post (Free with Prime) @ Amazon US via Amazon AU

1500

I am surprised that nobody posted this yet. This is V10 that is selling at similar price as V8 Absolute.

It is also significantly cheaper by $150 than recent post ex DWI. Perhaps cheapest it has been?

Weren't these things almost a grand when they were recently released?

    •

hence my surprise at the price considering other V7 & V8 are selling at similar prices

US power cord and dock or universal?

      • +6 votes

I think this is the most basic of 3 options which comes with a slightly smaller bin and less accessories. The other two models sell for $900-$1000 (Animal and Absolute+) and come with more heads, accessories and larger bin. I don't even think this basic option is sold here in Aus, or at least I have not seen it.

        •

Absolute has bigger battery. Animal and Motorhead seems to have the same battery size. Animal and Absolute have more heads.

          • +1 vote

@ykwon10: I believe that Absolute has the same battery. Do you have proof? Thanks.

            •

@brightaussie: I think you are right. I misread the description on Absolute saying "Up to 40 minutes of fade-free power with the Soft roller cleaner head (in Suction mode I)" compared to Motorhead saying "Up to 20 minutes of fade-free power (in Suction mode II)" but did not recognize the difference in suction modes.

@ykwon10: The V8 Animal is $370AU from Amazon US BTW

    • +2 votes

The motorhead model has a smaller bin capacity.
      https://www.dyson.com/sticks/dyson-cyclone-v10-motorhead.htm...

We don't seem to have that model as an option is Australia.

    •

The model that is $999 isn't the model the OP has listed. This 'motorhead' that is listed isn't even an option in Australia.

  •

What a steal , picked the animal one up for 750 a few months ago and it has replaced my old vacuum using mainly the lowest setting

  •

WoW that's cheap. Should I? hmmm

  •

Oh I misread; thought it was the absolute. V8 absolute is still the better deal. Both heads are basically needed if u have carpet and hard floors. Motörhead is basically only really effective on carpet.

    •

Wont previous models like DC 59 animal used to have only one head for carpet and hard floors? They were pretty effective.
If motor head is similar, it can do hard floors as well.
      Can anyone comment?

      • +1 vote

The heads on the Absolute models are redesigned and optimized for either carpet or hard floors. They are way more effective than the multipurpose heads of the older/basic models.

  •

    What a steal cheers OP

  •

    That’s cheap

  •

I tried to get more information about Dyson International warranty - doesnt seem to be much. Really want to buy this deal but am worried about warranty? Who to deal with or are we even covered?

    • +4 votes

I spoke to dyson last week after I ordered v7 animal from US. I cancelled the order and ordered v8 animal from dyson as it was on good deal price matching TGG. The person i spoke to mention that it cover warranty wherever you buy it from but will need to get au charger which cost $30. Hope this help.

  •

Will I be charged in local currency or USD conversion when paying … if anyone knows. Don't want to get slapped by credit card conversion fee. Ta

    • +1 vote

I got charged in local currency when I ordered v7.

"Up to 60 minutes' run time when using a non-motorized tool"
Does it mean you switch off motor head which is main reason we buy Dyson cordless?
Also, willing to know if this head will be good for both carpets and floors.

dyson's website does not show it clearly if it can do that.

    •

Would love to know this as well

    • +2 votes

I sell this here in Aus

Yeah so it's exactly that 60 minutes without using any attachments (including the motorhead)

The head is a multi purpose head, it can do hard floors and carpets with a small chance of scratching the hard floors.

If you're really worried about that sort of thing, get the absolute+ soft roller head which is a better for hard floors.

      Hope that helped :)

      •

How much are the soft roller heads?

      •

Can you confirm if this has the same or smaller bin/battery compared to the Absolute?
        Thanks in advance

  •

    Thanks op got one

  •

    Thanks OP. Got one.
    Don’t forget cash rewards

  •

Cheers ordered. I have a Dyson v6, will my power adapter work with this (with the new bracket)

    •

No, I had a Dyson V6 and the plug didn't fit my V10.

      •

Cheers mate, which one did you end up needing to purchase?

        •

I bought an Australian V10 so I didn't need to buy anything extra. The Australian V6 plug won't fit any V10.

  •

    Are these dual voltage?

    • +1 vote

that was my first thought….i wouldn't normally think so on a motor based appliance like this, but this is cordless, so the charger probably is dual voltage

    • +2 votes

When i was looking up Dyson adaptors, it does indeed support 110V and 230V. That said, when i asked the Dyson rep online at Dyson AU, they said that we'd have to buy the adapter at $30. Either way, if the savings incl the adapter is more than buying it locally, I'd suggest jumping on it. Also, yes, the Dyson rep confirmed that warranty is international.

      • +3 votes

They are switch mode dc chargers like your phone. They will be fine with an adaptor.

  •

I only have hard floor, will this motor head suitable for hard floor?

    •

I been using this motor head(Direct Drive Cleaner Head) since the purchase on hard floor so far no problem, I do have Soft Roller Cleaner Head but just cant bother changing it…

    •

      You need the V10 Absolute+

  •

Are attachments from V8 Absolute interchangeable with this model?

  •

    This is crazy cheap

  •

    Hmmm

So this version has a poorer battery life and smaller dirt tray compared to the absolute and animal?

    • +1 vote

Nope, same base unit but as per their "Animal" and "Absolute" names you just get less attachments overall.

      • +1 vote

        And smaller bin.

        •

Ah yep my bad, smaller bin but that's about it

  •

the absolute is $809.77… chuck in some cashrewards and it's a pretty decent deal.

  •

Can ShopBack be used on this deal ?

  • +1 vote

Thx op. I have copped this deal. Plus 8% Cashrewards :)

  •

Thanks OP. Was exactly what I was looking for! Bought!

  •

Would Dyson price match for Aussie stock?

  • +1 vote

$543 now and 12.5% Cash Rewards

    •

      wow! getting cheaper and cheaper…..

I have 2x DC59s at home already and serving me well. I am two minded if I should upgrade despite being the poster of this deal

    • +2 votes

$529.60 now! So about $462 with Cashrewards 12.5%. I bit the bullet after putting it off! haha

      •

        same here

  •

Just bought one, it is also now further down in price to $529.60 !!! plus 12.5% cash rewards until noon AEST.

Now I just need to get a AUS charger and a soft roller head, any ideas on where the best place to get them is

    •

Had a chat to Dyson online, a charger is $35, but they need a serial number to proceed and won't sell without one, forgot to ask about the soft roller head

Cash rewards has tracked at a sale value of $481.45 (GST off??) and the expected cashback is $60.19, so for me it was a sale price of $469.41.

Adding the charger at $35 brings it to $504.41

      •

Yes Cash Rewards also calculated my cash back using the ex GST price of what I paid for the item.

Is this common practise by Cash Rewards? I can't find any documentation on their website that says they remove the GST from prior to making their calculations.

  •

So confused…should I get this or the Cinetic big ball animal pro for 550$, no battery replacement headaches. Thoughts people?

    • +1 vote

We have both the V10 and the Cinetic Big Ball. we now rarely use the Cinetic, but if we are doing a spring clean we'll still get it out as it is more powerful.

Cinetic big ball - 250 Air Watts
V10 - 150 Air Watts in Max Power mode.

    •

likewise. have 2 DC59s at home and almost never use cinetic big ball anymore

  •

Does anyone know if the heads from the v6 model will fit onto the v10 model? Have a feeling they deliberately change them a bit so they don’t fit. Any v6 owners upgraded to a v10 and can confirm at all?

    • +1 vote

I went from a v6 to v10. They are different connectors.

  •

My order is $543 as display? Has the price gone up?

    •

Yes, I bought it at 1:40pm this afternoon with $529

  •

The order that I had placed (this morning) still hasn't been processed. Is this normal as this item is coming from Dyson US?

As a few other items which I purchased at around the same time (but coming from Amazon Australia) have already been shipped out.

    • +1 vote

Mine took a little longer than normal for Amazon… but got my order shipped notification this morning. Ordered 2 nights ago.

FYI this deal is still on so shouldn't be marked as expired. Price slightly changes due to currency fluctuations but it's still similar.

      •

Thanks. Mine finally came through. :)

  •

I missed this deal. Any similar deal?
