Yes pretty piss poor job on their own new devices, just using this as an excuse to clear old stock imo.
Was really keen myself to see the Echo Sub possibly on a decent deal.
I was the same and just spotted this by chance.
It's the old generation, as AdrianW pointed out, but if you don't need a waterproof reader and are happy with 8GB I think the 3G and free cover with a great buy price made up for the missing features compared to the new generation.
The one thing that I was planning to get during black Friday sale was the new Paperwhite thinking that was the obvious product to go on sale on Amazon.
Very disappointed.
Is it better now just get new waterproof Kindle Paperwhite off Amazon for $199 with cash rewards 11% offer instead of waiting for Amazon to include it in sale. Or the older version is still at some officeworks and gguys for about $160.
