Costco are running a Family and Friends promotion where you can shop without a membership.
Simply head to the membership counter, mention the VIP Shopping Event and they should give you a form to write your name on.
This means you can browse, try free samples, and buy items using the paper as a membership card for today only.

Membership is normally $60.
I'm sure you can find some bargains depending on what you're after.
Most products are in bulk, average prices are around $15, some interesting imported products.

Just finished at Docklands, not very busy.

The guy who gave me flyer at membership desk also said parking gates are up all day.

  • Thanks, Op!
Bought some cottage cheese that I love and only Costco sells that kind of cottage cheese in Brisbane, also their peanut butter is nice and bagels too-love those!
Lady at the register mentioned they do those promos quite often, I wish there is a way to track those regularly too, I only need to go these once in 2-3 months to buy certain items.

  • Thanks OP, just spent 175$ when went to see Costco at Mardsen Park with the thought of I am saving 60$ of membership price. Staff was aware of the offer and easy transaction.

Guy at mine said to a person ahead in the queue you really needed to know someone working at Costco who would've given you the paper. He said people were just trying to show the Ozbargain linked graphic on their phones (Seriously folks at least screenshot it so it's not linked to OzB!). He said others may not allow it.

Anyway he eventually gave them the paper as he said the barcode on the back needed to be scanned and details written on it (True, it did).

    • If you went to the Ringwood store that was probably me, Lady behind the counter said someone had leaked that to Ozb and that she would only let me in if I knew someone who worked there, after a few seconds they let me in and gave me that paper and said It was only valid for today.
