  • They’re still not selling.

    $199-$249 & they’ll start moving. Maybe..

    • they're not even selling in the USA at $150 each.. mainly because the things are so flimsy and have a high rate of faulty returns.

      • The small size is one thing. Build quality another.
But Buttons sticking/ joysticks breaking. Technical faults. All combined they didn’t get anything right.

        • what were people expecting with an arcade machine that cost 1/5th of a full sized one?

          • +1

            @ubcool: There’s too much competition between $200-$500.

This just ends up being dead floor space & landfill.

Retro/ nostalgia either has to be super cheap or high quality.

            This is neither.

I think a lot of people thought they could have done a lot better for the price point.

            But they missed the mark.

Plenty were ready to hand over their money too.

            • @stickymoo: no i totally understand why these wont sell well , not many people are into old arcade machines and it would take a brave dad to buy one of these for their kids over an xbox ect , no matter how good value they are. But seriously how do you think anyone could of done better for the price point? what other arcade machines are you comparing them too? because similar ones i have looked at are $1500+? a lot of people are buying these and putting a raspberry pie inside just because of how good value the cabinet is.

  • +1

Still for this price it is worth checking gumtree, ebay, arcade forums etc. for a cheap original cabinet and putting a pc or xx in 1 jamma board inside.

people got them on there selling for double i think they thought they be popular and sell out before xmas lol

      • someguy is trying to sell them for $800 lol

  • Can you still do invisible throws with Guile?

Its the 3/4 size that puts me off.

    • +4

      That's what she said.

You just wish those companies who hold the licences to these games would get their act together and release something with 50 or 100 all time classics, put it in a nice cabinet, sell it for $500 and they would fly out the door.

Sure, you could raspberry pi an arcade system for less but for those who’d like a cabinet ready to go, it’d be a no brainer.

    • +1

yeah but people wouldnt collect them then. some people on youtube have 3-4 of them.

Love those sit down glass table top arcade games. Especially when it's your turn and the monitor image would flip to face you.

    • +1

Yeah I was just the other day thinking about building one of those. Cocktail arcade cabinet.

    • Which store is this?

      • Engadine NSW

        • just went there apparently it was a pricing mistake and they have increased them all back up to $399 now which was a bit of a bummer…

          • @ubcool: Regionally they would have been reduced to $399. Store discretion to $299.

I’d say there’s an employee that checks these forums & they told the store (their AM) to put it back up to the regional reduction of $399.

It has only just been reduced. Individual stores shouldn’t be reducing it further straight away.

    • hi mate what store was that ?

  • +1

think people getting to realise, just keep an eye on what your interested in and wait till they discount the product.
Ive gotten $150 items for $25.. and they do shift stock around stores,
at my local I heard the staff say 'wish they would stop jamming in other stores stock' - and it was all coming in at 50% off original.
but its a game of when to jump..

    • Where's your local?

      • Canberra. Nothing good at moment. Picked up the roof cage, and a roof bag, yesterday they had the SUP for 199, also another had the 150 soccer rebound kit for 50.

    • I picked up Catalyst Tall Boy a few weeks ago. original listed for $149. scored it for $40

  • Has anyone in Melbourne seen these discounted at their local Aldi? If so which one? I'm looking for the rampage cabinet. Thanks in advance.

    • Just saw 10 at Burwood before close. Marked at $299. 4x Rampage and 6x Street Fighter. Hope it's close enough for you to get one.

  • Awesome, thanks. Deciding on whether to jump on this for $399. I'll use it as a base for Retro Pie I think so just need the cabinet and screen.

  • Towable float upto 2 riders was 99 now 49 canberra Weston Cooleman court

  • Hey guys just picked up the rampage model for $299 at my local ALDI (Somerville vic).
