Thrush? I think I’ve already got that.

    • +3

Maybe apply some Steredenn to clear it up ?

    • Fixed. Blame autocorrect.

      • It's OK if you have thrush, we won't judge you.

  • +1

Yeah is that au thrush or what

    • +2

Is Thrush different in other countries? :?

      • +2

Generally it's more prevalent in moist climates.

      • +1

        Theirs is ɥsnɹɥ┴.

  • +1

Why did I buy Onrush from Amazon for $20 just recently? :/

    • +2

Haha. Between thrush and your comment, I don’t even know if I’ve left WP yet :p

      • You can only leave Whirlpool by being banned.

        • Didn't stop me :P

    • Same. My OzB license revoked. :(

      • Sell it and claim back some honour?

    • I almost did the same…. Feeling lucky I missed out now 😀

  • Are these only playable during the shown period or are they kept forever?

    • +5

As long as you are subscribed

      • So the games accumulate while you're subscribed, and then when/if you cancel all of the accumulated ones disappear?

        • +11

As long as you have a current PSN subscription the games will remain playable. If your subscription ends you will not be able to play the games added for free as monthly games but as soon as you activate PSN again your previously added games will be playable again. You must add each of the monthly games to your games library. They don't automatically add. Hope that helps :)

          • @Damannation: Aha that makes sense, thanks much!

            • +8

@skrot: Just don't forget to Add to Library for each game, each month..
I wish they'd just automagically be added to my library.

              • @Rimzi: Good tip, thanks.

              • @Rimzi: I’ve been downloading all games for the last 14 months…. I’ve played 2 of them at most.

Such a shame that Steins Gate is wasted on PS3 considering most people don't have or use it any longer. That said I'll break out my Vita for Papers Please.

    • +1

I still have my PS3 kicking around since there's loads of PS1/PS2 titles on the PSN that are still only compatible with it instead of the PS4 =(

I'm not into anime/Visual novel things but I've heard nothing but good things about Steins Gate over the years. Maybe I'll check this one out.

    • +1

Agree Cake. Loved Steins;gate on the vita.

    • +2

Yeah, still have mine. Half my library can't play on PS4, so it's going nowhere.

    • +2

I will never get rid of my PS3. My library is not playable on anything else. And that includes PS1 and PS2 BC.

I regret not buying a spare PS3 to keep around in case my primary one dies.

      • I understand but you guys are very much the minority. I have a massive PS3 library but I just decided it wasn't going to get used, I don't consider the PS3 a classic and a good chunk of the top games for it (the ones I consider top at least) are on PS4 in a far better resolution.

        • Mines it the second lounge as a bluray/Netflix/foxtel now box, but I did fire it up to finish off red dead redemption recently.

Is very hard to go back to gaming on it.
Even the controllers feel like they'll float away in comparison the the ps4.

        • +1

You're right that I'm probably a minority. But if my console dies, the 300 or so games I have on it may as well be thrown out.

I have a lot of niche games from Japan that don't get remasters generally.

Some of my games are still unopened.

It's also my only bluray player that supports 3d unless the ps4 does it now.

      • Hopefully PS5 is backwards compatible since Microsoft seem to be successfully pushing backwards compatibility at the moment.

        • I expect it to be backwards compatible with ps4 but not ps1,2,3.

Those things will likely require hardware support which will add to the cost, and not enough people use it to make it worth the hit.

Microsoft went hard on BC because they were losing hard to sony. It's more for optics, not a system seller. Stats show that only 1% of Xbox gets actually use the BC feature.

Sony didn't bother with BC because most people don't care about it.

  • Soma is apparently decent

    • +1

      It is very decent.

  • Onrush and soma on PS4… Paper please on Vita…. Thats a few pretty decent "free" Xmas presents I can give the kids for Christmas 😀

  • -6

OnRush is half okay, but I've already got a bit into it through GamePass and ain't gonna be restarting.

Bring on March when my subscription finally ends and I can stop hoping each month will actually be better than the last.

    • -3

If you're subscribing to the PSN for the free games then you're doing it wrong

      • +2

Lol, and I thought I was the one here saying something silly to rile people up.

    • +3

Bring on march, when we can finally stop hearing you whinge like clockwork about the monthly games.

      • you wish.

I'll stop the second they're halfway decent.

        • You're comments will have even less realivance if it no longer affects you.

          • -1

            @2023: Not really.

A jaded person who's stuck paying because they want online (not me though, I just want the games) complaining doesn't mean much.

A jaded person who's said (profanity) no to giving them money for their shit complaining holds a little bit more weight as they actually put their money where their mouth is.

            • @TheDukeOfNukem: You've already withdrawn your money so what difference will it make? They're not going to change their offerings just to get you back.

  • Oooh new Warframe freebies. Does that happen every month?

    • No but they replace the bundle every now and again

  • I already have SOMA, so this is a pretty disappointing month.

If you haven't played it though, I highly recommend it.

    • +1

it looks like a horror game, is it scary?

      • Yeah it can be. It's sort of a cross between a stealth horror game and a philosophical horror walking simulator. There are sequences where you need to sneak past/avoid things that will try to kill you interspersed between more of a walking simulator, thought-provoking kind of game.

      • Honestly, Frictional games' (the Dev team) previous titles have been better "Horror" Games, I loved Penumbra and Amnesia in terms of gameplay so much better than Soma.

From a writing and story standpoint however Soma is a masterpiece.
The game would stand on its own without the enemies and horror element even being present (And indeed, there's mods out there that do just that)

        • There was talk of them actually releasing a threatless 'story' version of SOMA in a patch. Not sure if it's out yet.

  • +5

OnRush is a great spin on a car combat / racer.
Having it free on PS+ isn't going to bring it to Rocket League levels, but its in a similar vein.

    • -3

I thought it was boring and nothing like Rocket league.

      • +5

Not saying it is similar to Rocket League in gameplay, saying that giving it away for 'free' on PS+ could really propel it's user base, which is how Rocket League got so popular in the first place.

        • Rocket League is a fun game though, OnRush is an idea that doesn't work IMO.

  • Not the strongest of months, especially with the holiday season coming up I would’ve thought there’d be a decent AAA title to help sway people to sign up. SOMA is quite decent for those who haven’t played it.

  • +3

    No AAA PS4 games.
    Merry Xmas Sony…

  • +1

Awesome, was going to buy Onrush!! Thanks PS Plus!!

  • -2

Are you sure these are next months games?
I thought they were additions to the IKEA catalogue

  • thats disappointing

  • I was thinking of signing up. Glad I didn't.

    • +2

PS+ is definitely hit and miss but as much as we lament the misses, when it hits, it hits hard.

      Uh… that sounded violent.

What I meant was, when it hits, it's a complete knockout.

  • -1

    what a terrible December roster

    • +1

Onush is my favourite game this year so far… One of the best months for PS+ this year as a result imo

    • Those are objectively great games.

  • pretty keen on Soma

  • +2

    My Vita lives on!

    • +1

      Vita is life!

      • +1

Especially when you have 4 of them.

      • Aha! I see what you did there.

  • From $99 RRP to free within 6 months

  • +2

    Oh boy Steins;Gate.

Definitely a story worth knowing if you LOVE time travel.

    El Psy Congroo.

    • Visual novels can eat my butthole I'm a lazy mosquito that likes to watch brain dead tv shows

      • Watch the anime gives the same experience, so I'll recommend that for you

        • Already watched it and a couple episodes into SG 0

  • +1

Onrush is great fun espically if you enjoyed destruction derby or the first 2 flatout titles. I hit it hard for about the first 3 months, got bored with the limited tracks but they have since added a heap of new ones for free.

  • I didn't think PS3 owners were receiving free games anymore via PS+ subscription?

    • +2

They announced it's stopping for PS3 in March 2019. Fun times continue until then
