Long time lurker, first time poster.

Just in case you have not bought one in recent sales ;)

Been looking for an SSD for my parents PC with around 500Gb storage. Seems to be the best deal at the moment.
$95 without the code, 20% off makes it $76. Delivery for non-eBay Plus members is $9.

  • I believe that these WD Green drives labo(u)r along at slow and ineffective speeds for some reason
    "

  • Nice price for this drive.

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB at a decent price too at the moment…$104.

Aaaaaand right as I checked front page again, lowest ever ($92) for the that drive gets posted haha

  • Does anyone know if these will work in an Xbox 360 4GB Slim? I want to upgrade the internal drive and have read that some WD SSD's will work, but not sure exactly which specific model.

    • +1

      IIRC:

      it's only drives that MS released, eg 120Gb / 160Gb / 320Gb,

it has to be SPECIFIC models of those drives (eg not just any WD 120Gb, it had to be a particular model of their Scorpio drives)

and you had to have a copy of the encrypted partition table or something? I vaguely remember having to copy my partition table using a USB interface cable to the drive, but I think it's all done though Windows now.

I did read about RGH modded machines being able to swap to an SSD but I never did that and information was pretty scarce. It's an old system, but not a "classic", no one really cares about MS consoles (hence they sell for as little as $20 at cashies), so honestly just jump on AliExpress and buy one of their plug and play drives, 320Gb is around $AU35, 500Gb around $AU55, or drop into Cashies and pick up a second had unit with a drive for under $50 and deal with a spinner

      • Much appreciated for the detailed response, a + for you!

  • How do you get to the link via cashrewards?

  • Thanks Op, this was great timing.
