especially if you got the $199 minecraft xbox one s the two times amazon had it on sale and two dirt cheap games.

Mate, what did u do to make others angry…. I see nothing wrong with what u said yet others negging u hard o.o

          Thats Ozb for you.
People will have something against what you say but won't even be adult enough to explain why/what.
          Doesn't bother me.

          • @[Deactivated]: I just think u might of angered them from another time. Only makes sense what u said to be a good deal…lol

why is this a good deal to trade in for this though?

        If you paid 199 + 299 = $498

There were better deals during the black friday sale with more games or cheaper consoles prices

Good question. If you bought the $199 S console and didn’t touch it much or even at all for just trading it now for an X by paying $299 more, then it’s definitely not a deal. However, if you’ve already had a good time with the S since then, now $299 for a new X would be a decent offer, given that you have no need to keeping the S console. That way, you’d be able to play two consoles for $498.

Oh boy. More of the old "it's not the best deal ever so its not a good deal" logic.

1 If you have the S sitting around and were looking at getting an X this is a great deal.

2 The S was $199 during the Prime Week sales months and months ago.

People like you blow my mind. This IS a good deal, for people who wanted to upgrade and have an S lying around.

@[Deactivated]: Pretty much my situation. I picked up the S for $239 during last year's Black Friday sale. I had a 1080p TV at the time (have since upgraded to 4k) so had no need for an X. For $547 I've been able to run an S for a year and upgrade to an X (with a few games thrown in along the way).

Could sell the S privately, not worth the hassle.

  • What game do you get?

    • Looks to be Gears of War 4

Damn, I really need to read full sentences before getting so excited. For a split second I thought Xbox One X was selling for $299.

Can I buy a used one and two cheap games?

    • +1

Yeah you can, just have to make sure the cheap games are on the trade list.

The game they included has such low value. It's nowhere near as good as those XBOX ONE X deals on Black Friday but might sucker some people into this.

Moreover, they probably require the two games to have a minimum of trade in of $10 each.

If you could trade in a xbox non S original 1tb, might be worth it.

    • I think the blokes at EB need a one S - doesn’t specify 500 or 1TB though

  • Does Xbox have better experience playing games like pubg? Or PC is better? I want to smooth game with good controls

    • PC for that but $$. Mouse control suits aim better

    • +2

PUBG runs like dogtrash, but it's by far worse on Xbox.

      • Someone finally said it. Not sure if the map's too big or the optimisation is garbage. Found it really hard to play.

      • I was never a gamer but I started playing it mobile phone and surprisingly it was great. Now I hear from lot of people that you should play it on proper console or PC. So I digging into it to see it's worth the time and money

  • What if I trade a 2TB S?

    • A month ago I talked to EB about trading my 2TB S in just for credit, and in their system it was like $18 more credit over a 1TB at the time (iirc about $150 total? I'm not sure) so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't want to budge on a deal like this.

How is this a good deal?

Eb trade ins are a complete rort.

Example. Trade in your ps4 tomb raider definitive edition for $12 in minti condition. Get the same game on XBox One for $28 on sale…or trade 3 games in you JUST BOUGHT in a console bundle (still sealed brand new) and watch their value drop so significantly that Eb only give you the value of about 1 new game.

Gumtree is the way to go… Or trading with friends. At least you'll see some of the actual value the product still Holds!

    • They have sum excellent trade deals from time to time if u wait and know how to work it.
If u pay the lazy tax and just rock up at convenience like a bust mum u r likely to get poor deals.
Gumtree etc can b a hassle

  • +1

If they just dropped the give+receive games out of this entirely it would be so much more enticing. It's a waste of time and effort for almost zero value (net position being one cheap arse game their way).

  • For anyone curious, I got this today and they said that the two games needed don't have a minimum $10 trade restriction, and can even be ps4 or switch games too. I did also need power and hdmi cables, and a controller as well (I used an old pre-bluetooth one I had spare and kept my S's nicer one). The Gears of War 4 code is printed on the receipt and can't be traded back.

They also have an identical deal for a 500GB or more PS4 slim -> 1TB Pro, with no expiry date at this time, but the guy said all their nearby stores were still waiting for new Pro stock after selling out over black friday. He said there's no $10 minimum trade fit the two games either, but they did have to be PS4 games

  • I spoke with EB Games Sydney city, and the guy there told me there was a minimum trade-in game value, as I was phoning up to check for some $4 games. So I guess it depends on where you go. Anyway, I'm not going there so fingers crossed my local EB Games will have some $4 games I can buy and then use to trade. Heading in tomorrow, fingers crossed!
