  • Anyone have sucess recently?

    • Wife applied 6 days ago and the card arrived yesterday. She had issues initially as she works for a NFP and salary sacrifices to the max that they declined her she asked them to re-assess instant approval that her income was much higher than originally assessed.

Activated card last night made a $1500 overseas flight purchase now waiting for the email for point details..

In typical ANZ fashion her declined letter arrived todayinterestingly the letter says her declined application was due to her credit file. She has churned 3 cards and closed 3 in 12 months so maybe they are starting to look at number of applications.

Will keep this card as it’s benefits are pretty good especially overseas.

      • do you have mortgage? wife got rejected too asking for more income.

  • So… any thoughts on how long it actually takes to receive points after you receive the email saying points are on the way (and it quotes 2 months)?

  • Yes we have a mortgage. I probably didn’t make myself super clear she was originally declined then asked to be re-assessed and was approved.

    • Thanks, not sure who down voted you. Wife asked for reassessment too and still got declined.

  • Harah on the vote lol. I was just laughing that although ANZ actually approved her and she got the card she still received a decline letter. System working well.

  • Hi All, need help here. I applied through point hack and during the application process , they did not ask me to input my velocity point. I have received the card and nothing in the packet mentioned about velocity point. I went to ANZ today and they said this is outside of their control and I have to contact point hack. Anyone having similar issue? Anyone able to provide me best contact for point hack?

    Thanks in advance.

    • you receive an email asking for your velocity number. came about a week or so after activation.

      • I filled this out about a week after applying. Month or 2 later and after I've met the spend, I still haven't got points. I called them and they seemed to think they haven't got my velocity number on file. So now that's added… they said it will come in next 2-3 months. :/

  • I applied this today and got rejected too and dont know why.

  • Could be anything they eill send you a letter.

My wife met the spend criteria and received an email this week that the 80000 points will be credited to her account within 2 months

  • has anyone cancelled their card within the first few months and received a prorata refund of the annual fee?

  • +1

    FYI
7/2 Approved (got the card, made the min spend very quickly)
12/2 Email received asking for velocity details
    1/3 Points received

  • +1

Really quick all round points credited within 5 days of email receipt that spend criteria met.

    • Dang. It's been almost a month since I received "Your 80,000 bonus Velocity Points will be credited to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account in the next 2 months.", and nothing yet.

  • anyone know when can you claim the 1 x return domestic flight?

can this be flight be claimed within the 1-year of holding the credit card,
or is it only available after the 1-year anniversary of the card ?

    • +1

You can claim your free flight as soon as you have spent $500+ on the card in purchases.

  • can i pay my rates using this card as eligible purchase?

  • From the terms and conditions local government rates would be excluded.

    • i think it may work as it did with my other anz cc. just try a small amount and report back here. i just paid power bill via paypal.

  • Must your application be approved by 14th March (today) to be eligible for the points, or as long as the application is submitted to be eligible?

Applied late last week however still need to provide additional documents as requested by ANZ.

    • +1

I called them up to ask that same thing (because i just applied today)
They asked me a bunch of questions, processed the application and i got the approval.

Suggest you give them a call to try to finalise it .

(But sorry - I still don't know the answer to your original question)

    • It would be based off the application date as it could take days or weeks in some cases to be approved. I want to know if the offer will get extended? ;)

      • it was already extended.

  • Well just signed up now, hopefully still holds for the 80k bonus

  • If you travel interstate regularly every year or go overseas, it's not a bad idea to keep this card.

    • Better than 28 deg?

      • +1

Miles better - no charges for using overseas ATMs, points when spending overseas.

If you have use for the domestic flight (even if you just need to fly Mel-Syd and would normally go with Tiger, the $225 is good value, given it includes two lounge passes which can be sold for $70 or $80), this card is outstanding value.

        • +2

Agree with you. Regarding points though, if going on a long overseas holiday this card won't be as good as perhaps the coles mastercard rewards as with the anz card the points are capped at $2,000 in a statement period, then you get one third the points from then on.

Coles mastercard earns 2 flybuy points per $, and when transferred during one of their regular bonuses it converts to 1 velocity points (or .645 krisflyer). We are going on a 3mth holiday overseas next year so will probably pick up the coles card on a signup bonus or whatever.

I wish the ANZ card wasn't capped in its points earning. Also I don't look forward to using Citi who operate the coles mastercard.. they're not good to deal with.
