  • Are they on steam?

    • +4

My wolfenstein 2 was steam. A plastic case with a piece of paper with the steam code inside lol.

      • Haha I recently bought bfV from JB and it was the exact same. Nothing in the case except a piece of paper with an origin code.

        • +1

That's pretty ridiculous, really. They should just send the code via email like most online stores.

          • +10

@tommy-darko: Always odd, physical media being cheaper than a pure digital purchase.

I miss the days when boxes sometimes contained maps, illustrated manuals, and other goodies.

It looks like Bethesda is abandoning Steam though, so these might be the last Steam renewable titles from this publisher.

$5 AU is a great price is reasonably new A list games, but I cannot upvote this because Harvey Norman supported a 10% Australia tax on all imports into this country.

    • I'm a newbie to Steam - do you just log on and play the games you've purchased, or do you need a paid subscription?

      • +1

Yes you do. Once you log in to your account the games should be there in your library ready to download. You can install/uninstall them as you please and they will remain in your account unless you manually remove them from your account which I don't see why anyone would do that.
Also you should know that steam offers pretty much guaranteed refunds on games that are bought on the steam store itself (so these wouldn't be applicable) that have less than two hours played and were purchased less than two weeks ago. They don't say it's guaranteed, but it kinda is since they don't bother to check the reasons or validate anything. (Typical valve being lazy)
Also you can add non-steam games to steam client. This is basically like placing a shortcut on your desktop but instead it's in the steam client. So whenever you buy games that are on other clients like Origin, Battle.net, GOG etc you can all link them to steam which is what I try and do. It's so much easier to have all your games on one client.

        • Awesome, thanks! I like the idea of adding games from other clients too!

Yeah.. Amazon are matching these prices on couple of games.

    • +2

What kind of magic makes this visible in search on Amazon? I tried to search amazon.com.au for "Evil Within 2" and no results game back for $5 version.. Best result was $22.95

      • I think you have to have prime to see the listing for $5, but I'm not sure since it worked for me in incognito chrome.

      • I too would like to know this.
It appears backorder prices are hidden unless clicking on the product and checking it, how does anyone find them?

      • +2

Amazon shows the best "in stock" price, but quietly lists that there are other options (often at a cheaper price). As these $5 specials are backordered, they're being hidden behind the "in stock" alternatives (or hidden completely of you don't tick "Include Out of Stock").

  • +1

Fallout 4 $5 delivered nice price!

    • Thanks .. didn't notice while posting.
      updated :)

  • Very good prices. They would all have steam codes associated.

    I rank them:
    Doom
    Wolfenstein 2
    Fallout 4
    Evil Within
    Dishonoured 2

Haven't played Morrowind Online, but if it's anything like the Original it'd be awesome.

    • +2

      I'd rank them :
      Doom
      Dishonored 2
      Fallout 4
      Evil Within
      Wolfenstein 2
Anyways if you haven't played DOOM then for $5 you should instantly buy it without hesitation. It's very repetitive but still fun.

      • +1

And on PC at 144fps it's the best way to play.

        • I'm happy with anything over 60fps (my ultrawide is 100hz max), but 144 is pure silk.

        • What monitor / card combination do you have?

Is it able to keep up at 1440p resolution?

I have a watercooled 1080 Ti but my monitor is 4K 60Hz. I can run just about anything at 4K (2160p), but I’m wondering if a silky high frame rate would be preferable to high resolution.

I wouldn’t want to drop down too low, however, as I sit with my nose about a foot from the screen!

          • @Crocfreefree: I just have a 1070.
I was playing at 1080p and it was holding 120+ frames no issues.

            I'd imagine a 1080ti should be fine for 2k.

          • @Crocfreefree: This video will help greatly with you're decision. Personally, I run an Asus rog strix 1080 on a qhd 144hz display and to me, 60fps now looks almost like a slide show in fast pace games. You won't notice a huge difference from qhd to 4k in resolution, but you will notice the difference when you're displaying more than double the fps of 60hz. Watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehvz3iN8pp4&t=468s
and this for a look at how much smoother it is with higher fps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1cmhZs1P54

    • It's a pretty typical MMO so if you don't like MMOs it won't change your mind. I think its pretty good. Morrowind was the first major expansion for Elder Scrolls Online.

    • I'd rank them:

      Doom
      Dishonoured 2
      Evil Within 2
      Fallout 4
      Wolfenstein 2

    • +1

      I rank them:
      Doom
      Evil within 2
      Dishonoured 2
      Wolftenstein 2
      Fallout 4

    • Looks like everyone loves Doom

  • +3

I hate giving Gerry money, but in this case I would imagine these titles are below cost. Too bad I've already bought them elsewhere. 🙄

  • +2

Only Fallout 4 has free delivery.

The rest have a $5.95 delivery fee roughly with around a $21.85 total for all other 5 games delivered.

So yeah for those wanting the items delivered this may kill the deal unless you can click and collect in store pick up.

    • Not true for VIC, it's about $8 flat rate

      https://i.imgur.com/oCLgw1f.jpg

      • Damn nice that is much more worth it at roughly $2 per game for delivery.

2780 Katoomba NSW is not forgiving.

    • In Brisbane I paid $8 delivery for 3 games. $8 shipping for 1 game is harsh, but split among 3 I can justify it.

      • Nice it might be because I am a bit more further away from civilization but still within the metro area I believe definitely not classified as remote.

If I buy morrowind do I get the base game too? I'm confused on steam it says it's an expansion pack but it sells seperately here? idk anything about mmorpgs.

    • I believe that it includes ESO. To make things more confusing: if you already own ESO, you already own Morrowind.

      • At least to my knowledge you will still have to purchase the Warden class separately.

    • I'm pretty sure you do… I bought ESO through Steam after a free-play weekend marketing the Morrowind expansion and for the single purchase I got base and this one.
Do be aware there are like seven other expansions though.

  • Fallout 4 $5 delivered, why not?

  • +2

Thanks BA. Already owned DOOM and Fallout 4, so ordered Wolfenstein 2 and Evil Within 2 with click and collect.

  • Sick! Got most of them already, but $5 for Dishonoured 2 is sweet.

  • It better not be on a disc…I like the key code on the piece of paper idea lol, what a waste of plastic case

  • Guess I'll take a break from the big dogs like Amazon and eBay and give these small-time chumps a go.

Seems to be called Hardly… Normal?

    • +1

Good prices but being HN's, Out of principal, I wouldn't take it even if they paid me.

      • Same here. Have avoided shopping there for over two years already. (profanity) Gerry.

  • Morrowind online is an expansion of ESO for anyone wondering.

*ive read it comes with the base game unless stated morrowind upgrade… but im not sure how reliable that is.

  • +4

    from JB HI-FI's description:

New Players: New players can jump into The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind and start a new character without having to complete any previous ESO content. And, since the original ESO game is included with The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind, new players will have instant access to hundreds of hours of additional adventures throughout Tamriel.

Do any of these Bethesda games come with a canvas bag

    • +3

Nah just a crappy nylon one

      • +1

You have to submit a support ticket to get your canvas bag.

        https://twitter.com/BethesdaSupport/status/10697138908068495…

      • +1

        and 500 atoms

        • hahaha that isnt even enough to buy a VIRTUAL canvas bag in their own game. Postman outfit costs 700 atoms. Priceless. I reckon this is just a write off effort to exclude people from the inevitable class action lawsuit.

  • +2

    Cheers OP, got Fallout 4

  • +1

Thanks OP. Grabbed Doom and Fallout 4 for the missus!

    • Where can I find a missus like yours who enjoys ultra-violent FPS games? lol

      • On the internet!

        • Website and bargains please.
          Was it womenbargain? ;-)

  • +2

Thanks, was thinking of buying fallout 4 key for ~$10 the other day, glad I didn't.

  • Hope Amazon price matches the rest.

  • evil within 2 looks too scary for me :( but I still want it because it's a bargain (A$89.95 on steam)

    • Nice.

  • $5 evil within 2, 5 left in stock at Amazon
    https://www.amazon.com.au/The-Evil-Within-2-PC/dp/B0773QBPYT…

    • Note 5 Left in Stock is from The Gamesmen. Amazon AU is currently on Back-Order.

      • my bad, what ^^ said xD

        • No longer selling it? Can't find it under the list of sellers.

  • Thanks guys, I was waiting on a bunch of these to hit rock bottom prices!

  • i called harvery norman fallout 4 is only cd sadly

    • CD? Bruh, it ain’t 1995.

      • +1

i literally just called harvery norman auburn they said its cd only

        • Hahaha brilliant! Got Barbara working in games department.

      • you must be from Philly ;)

    • Thanks almost bought it but then thought to call up Caringbah and yeah looks like its disk only

    • +1

Are you sure it's not in DVD? If CD, does it come in 10 or 20 CDs?

    • that means I need to buy an external cd player, ugh more monies gone

      • Thanks, I won't be getting this one - no DVD/CD player haha!

    • +2

Wrong. All the games are Steamworks except for Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind

      Here's Fallout 4 - https://i.imgur.com/EVRMNI7.jpg

  • +1

    Ordered Fallout 4. Thanks :)

  • +1

Yep, Fallout 4 free delivery is gold!

  • Cheers mate. Snagged Dishonored 2 for $5 pickup.

I believe it can be activated as a Steam game, so that's handy.

    • Bought Dishonored 2 from EB a while back and it was a steam code, so should be the same

  • Awesome - I nabbed Dishonored 2, Doom, and Wolfenstein 2.

    Cheers!

  • $7.95 delivery charges on Fallout 4 for me?

    • looks like free delivery is removed/updated by HN

  • Thanks for this, grabbed some titles I'd had on my wishlist. Surprisingly they all included disks (Bethesda games), mind you it's only a single disk that covers the first 4gb~.

    • Most of the time you don't get a disk, just the code. Or if there is a disk it's literally just the install exe for Steam

  • Went to JBhf to pricematch DH2 and Wolfenstein

They refused citing low cost and clearance price not being matched

    • +1

wtf is that their price matching policy

      • +1

Most places exclude clearance or liquidation prices.

      • Been refused a myer price match on a Miele vacuum because it was too low 😒

  • HN website not working for me. Anyone else?

  • +1

Thanks ended up getting Doom, Dishonored 2 and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus.
I wonder if Ill even play them. I always buy shit and never touch it.

  • +1

Cheers for that! Picked up Wolfenstein, Fallout & Doom for $15 local pick up.

    • Hey mate does Doom come with a digital code?

  • +1

Does Shipster still work for this?

    • it has worked for me.

    • Yep five games delivered for $25 with Shipster, bless those free trials we been given left and right.

      • Does $25 qualify for free shipping? Shipster page states "When you spend over $25 and shipping costs are less than $20".
