Car hire excess cover can make it well worthwhile.

          • @mattythecapybara: Absolutely. Cost for zero excess from car rental for a week will cost more than what I'm paying for the travel insurance. Not that I'm keen to make any claim though.

    • Covers the gap in MV rental

  • Got a quote without using the code, then a quote for the same thing trip with the code.

The quote with the code was higher than the one without…

    • Strange indeed. Not for my case and I've also tested worldwide and Asia, quote with promo code is still lower than without code.

my parents were looking for insurance for a trip to japan next march.

i found www.tickinsurance.com.au to be the cheapest, with slightly better claim limits than InsureandGo

    • I checked out tick travel insurance too and InsureandGo quote is lower with the promo code for my case. Also found the claim limits are lower for domestic compared to InsureandGo. Anyway, both are underwritten by Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company.

    • Code Avenue took a further 10% off tick insurance quote, very cheap quote… will look in to them for next trip.

      • Tick quote (with 10% off) is still higher than InsureandGo (with 20% off). InsureandGo has higher limits e.g. rental car excess for tick is $4,000 versus $5,000 from InsureandGo.

        • Tick 20% less for family trip to Asia in our case, thats after doubling the excess on insure and go to equal the default of tick… going to give them a go.

  • Got a better deal with world2cover with current deal on here.

World2cover was the other one I was seriously considering. After 25% discount via entertainment book, their quote was slightly higher than Insureand Go. However, if you are travelling as a family and have children between 18 to 25, then World2cover likely to be cheaper since they cover them free while InsureandGo only gives free cover for children up to 17.

I decided to go with InsureandGo (my son is above 17 and needs separate cover for InsureandGo) even though it costs more than World2cover because InsureandGo seems to have better claim reviews and World2cover has below exclusions clauses:
1.6 Cancellation, delays or rescheduling caused by Your Transport Provider.
1.7 Mechanical breakdown of any means of transport.
I was told by World2cover that additional flight expenses incurred due to missing of connecting flight under clause 1.6 may not be covered.

Otherwise, I would have gone with World2cover as their limits are higher.

  • I have found Fastcover as better option.

  • would the ShopBack cashback work as GROUPON20 is not an advertised code on their site?

    • Cashback is not qualified for:
Promo codes or voucher codes not approved by ShopBack
coupon code that is not listed on this site

  • awesome deal. love the $5000 car rental excessive coverage. just bought it to cover me for my domestic car high for 16 days. <$2 a day.

peace of mind, plus, as the car rental companies excess reduction insurance is $18 a day…..
