Yep, it will play whatever audio the device connected is playing.
And you can connect device with Bluetooth or a headphone jack.
So, out of all the speakers, which one?
Either cheap and functional
Or best IQ (not amped up bass etc) with Spotify connectivity
Well I'd get a Sonos if you've got the readies,but this Sony deal looks damn good value and the reviews are glowing…YMMV

This has LDAC - high res audio codec. Need a phone that uses Snapdragon 820 and above.

The UE BOOM 3 doesn't have an audio jack while the remaining does. The Flip 4 is cheapest and would be very similar to the UE BOOM 3. Have a look on YouTube, JimmyReviewRoom does a really good comparison between the speakers.

Got one about a month ago, great speaker. You can turn the unit on/off from your phone too. Tempted to get another one to sync them together.
They would sound amazing with 2 or 3 units
I'd recommend it! I got two on Black Friday from Amazon. You can set two up so one of the left channel and one is the right. Sounds excellent.
