Let’s knock that Sirena tuna from Ozbargain’s favourite canned fish status. Let’s do the opposite.

    Great find, OP.

I remember that episode where Costanza protests and decides to go against the grain. Brilliant! :D

I have tried this salmon a while ago when it was on sale from Foodland and it's actually quite good. I would rather have this over Sirena tuna.

JV has the right to prefer whatever he wants. :)

      • At the risk of sounding rude: but, who cares?

          YogaPants clearly does. ;)

Yeah the ATLANTIC Salmon you get from Tasmania are much better than the Wild Alaskan Salmon you get from Alaska. ;-P

Farmed vs wild? Enjoy your farmed, I'll take the wild caught. Time to stock up for the ZA

    • Feeling blessed by knowing this.

  • Thanks OP. Can you eat it out the can?

    • You need a can opener

      • +1

And a fork unless you like the smell of salmon all over your hands.

      • pretty sure it has a ring pull so no can opener needed.

        • +3

No, only the small cans do. It is quite annoying as I can easily eat a large can for lunch

  • Might sound a silly question but what's the difference between pink and red salmon.

Most commonly it's the colourants within the feed they receive in their miserable "farms." Most salmon flesh is grey in these farms so they are dosed with colourants to make them more attractive / saleable.

Free roaming salmon also get their colors from the food they eat, and these colors are usually ultimately from a plant origin.

In this brand, they indicate different breeds of Salmon.

The red salmon have more omega's, mainly because they are a bigger, fatter breed, not because of their colour

  • Just a heads up you'll need a decent can opener to get these open.

    • That means it's a great product. :D
