    Leatherette

    Vinyl.

  • Anyone have this chair? Are they comfy/durable?

    • +2

      Vinyl, won't last long.

      • That's why I ended up going for the Nitro Concepts chair - one of the only ones made with Fabric. Vinyl always starts peeling after a year or two.

    • quality is meh, all the straps for the pillows have broken, and the padding on the seat itself has lost all structural integrity, it is flat and not very comfortable and often results in lower back aches.

there are a lot better chairs out there, you just have to do some research. Unfortunately, there were not many reviews of this line when I bought, all short term stuff is positive, but after the my ownership of 4 months or so the not-so-great quality becomes apparent

    • I got the TGC 15 or 30 (cant remember which) for a year now. I have to say the leather gets way too hot in the summer if no air con is on…
Its generally comfortable but it is noisy and one of the arm rests are very squeaky and keeps coming loose at the bolt underneath. Making it wiggle a few centimetres whenever you put any kind of weight or force on it.

I have this weird feeling too like the hydraulic lift has actually lost about 3 inches of max hieght but im not certain about that.

The pillows shape does morph if you spend too much time leaning into it per day (i'd say more than 4 hours sessions). It does slowly morph back it its original shape after some time but the lower back pillow is getting flatter and flatter after 1 year. Its not terribly malformed yet.

I do not recommend this chair, possibly one of the worst purchases I have ever made. The material is of very cheap quality, the white details went yellow after a couple of months, the seat cushion has already compressed and shrunk down making it very uncomfortable (it's like sitting on a flat solid surface), the extra back and neck support are not plush at all, making your posture worse. the top of the chair curves in, making it impossible to sit up straight without hunching. At least it looks cool, right?

    • Do you get more headshots?

      • But…….it will increase my draw distance right ? Great! Sold!

    Will this boost my frames

  • Looking for something like this and willing to pay more for something of goods quality. Recommendations?

Personally I plan to hunt around the wreckers to find a good recaro or similar seat (mx5, mr2, m3, etc) with proper lumbar support etc and turn that into my 'gaming' chair.

Generally a real car seat from the wreckers costs about $50, are simple to remove (just need to be careful of side airbags in newer cars), and you can use the base from an existing office chair (frequently available for free on suburban nature strips if you don't have one spare yourself). Apparently you can even hook up the heaters and other electrics if they have them, but personally I'm going to try to avoid that as they usually cost more plus I want to keep the weight down - unless you score a racing seat, car seats can be quite heavy so risk being unbalanced. None of that matters of course if you plan to put it into a frame for car racing….

    • Nice. I suppose you could do that with a plush/padded model too.

      • Absolutely - the only issue to contend with is weight making it unbalanced.

    • Yeah I've always wanted to do this too. But how easy/hard is it to attach to a office chair base?

Always thought it wouldn't be balanced or too heavy.

    • Attaching the base won't be easy.

      • Yep - Normal method appears to be to make a frame that the seat bolts onto that in turn the bottom leg assembly bolts to. I used to have a welding kit, but I'd probably just cut some lengths of steel, drill holes and use bolts. That way it also should be a little easier to adjust/balance it if required.

  • While I've enjoyed this chair for 18 months. Some material has started to come loose and the warranty is only 12 months so I've got to watch it get worse or fix it myself.

  • I set mine up this morning. Few guys saying it's not good in the comments, but my 5 hour impression so far; it's great.

It seems very premium. Trampoline bottom with dense foam, neck and back pillows are the perfect firmness, armrests are a very heavy duty foamy type as opposed to hard plastic.

I'm not sore like I am with my old eBay generic 'massage' chair. Posture is much better.

Only bad thing I could say, is if I was any wider; the bucket seat would cut into my thighs, as it's hard; not foam. Big guys beware.

Stoked I took the gamble so far.
