  • I can get FRENZY15 and ENGINEERS5OFF together but I am not able to apply AUAFFILIATESALIENXPS with them. Is it possible to only use two of them (it is not 100% clear from the description)?

    • both codes worked for me, price came down to $2706 at check out.

      $292.40 Total Savings
      Subtotal $2,460.54
      GST Australia (10%) $246.05
      Total $2,706.59

      • Isnt GST included in the subtotal? Why were you charged an additional 246 dollars?

        • You can't use AUAFFILIATES code with FRENZY15.

I'm guessing he used the two codes he provided and it overwrote FRENZY15.

If you use FRENZY15 and ENGINEERS you get $2421.

          • @lostn: Yeah thats what confused me, hopefully he realised and didnt pay 300 extra

@aceofspadesfg: My mistake, it is now updated!

I am still think about to buy this or Lenovo X1 Extreme which is tempting as well.

              • @kurdoxan: Are there any equivalent deals on the X1 extreme? Best deals i've seen are second hand ones.

                • @[Deactivated]: The best price for X1 extreme with above Dell similar specs was $2600 with small businesses discount. It is now $2770.

    Don't forget 7% cashback!

    • Will use of the additional coupon void the 7% cashback from CashReward? This is what is said on their website:

You may not be eligible for Cashback:

If a gift card is purchased or used as payment.
**If a coupon code is used that is not listed on CASHREWARDS.**
If your order is not fully completed online or is later changed.

I’m getting $2,502.43 with FRENZY15 and ENGINEERS5OFF FOR the $3,099 model with 4K touch screen. Tempting..

It's on for $2,599 on the Microsoft store AND its the 4k screen version… has been for a while now. This isn't a deal.

The 4K screen is $100 extra over the FHD. But it comes with a reduced battery life.

Worth getting if you want better colour accuracy and sharper screen. IMO, the FHD should be more than $100 cheaper than UHD.

If you buy from a 3rd party and not direct from Dell, you don't get the 14 day money back satisfaction guarantee, which I think is always worth getting in case you get dead pixels or coil whine. The other thing you miss out on is the 5% Dell advantage coupon towards a future purchase. That amounts to ~$120 towards your next purchase.

If you wait for 20% off Dell ebay (it's on more often than not), it will be slightly cheaper.

  • i9 in a XPS15 is a terrible terrible idea, there are lots of stories about XPS15 thermal throttling. Both current and previous gen suffered from 4 core CPU & GPU throttling.

Investing in a hex core would be a total waste of money.

  • been watching this model for awhile, not convinced this is a deal at all.

    • Curious. What's the lowest price you've seen an equivalent model for?

  • FRENZY15 is dead. Close please

    • Hey Hubert, random question but in case you see this.. I saw in another thread you mentioned the Dell D6000 dock is no good for gaming. I have a Surface Book 2 with a dGPU I am thinking of using it with, it sounds like it won't use the dedicated GPU and instead use the integrated graphics? Sounds like you may have had some experience with this so would be great if you can advise :)

        Hey mate,

Yes you are correct in what you've stated.

The D6000 leverages the Dell DisplayLink driver, which is identified as a GPU essentially.

I recommend other third-party docks or the Dell TB16 - this works for gaming.

        • Thanks a bunch! Did some reading too and looks like it's because it relies on DisplayLink.
