    • If I choose to ship the GPU separately, do I get it in its original/box package? Also, what happens with the other components if we need to claim manufacturers warranty but I'm assuming we don't get the boxes, etc?

And do you only ship the PC already built and tested or is there an option to just get the individual components and assemble the PC ourselves?

    • Sent you a dm for this deal on the weekend Luke, hopefully you can reply soon :) cheers.

    Inno3D X3 GeForce RTX 5090 32 GB Video Card(au.pcpartpicker.com) $5799.00

Is it just me, or are GPU prices these days getting a bit ridiculous?

  • +1

Any idea which model GPU will be in it?

    • A mixture of our regular bulk suppliers - Palit, Zotac, Giga, MSI, Galax

      • -1

Can I pick the one I want?

        • Wow, this whole time I thought the items listed in the part-picker were exactly what we get if we ordered lol.

          • +6

@ensanguined: Did you ever actually read the content of the ozb postings lol

        • -1

          No.

      • +2

Any chance of reserving a gigabyte/msi/zotac for a little fee? I've got trust issues of Galax/Palit from friends with those brands

  • Hi Luke, am I able to upgrade my previous order to this? Currently not sent yet

    • +4

If not built or shipped it should be fine - please email [email protected] with your details.

      • +1

Thanks! Emailed. Can you please ask them to check it before this deal sells out, thank you!!

        • +1

          Yep for sure

  • +10

Ordered a PC from these guys two weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped. Got a notification Tuesday last week saying it was being tested, then total silence for a week until I emailed them. They responded saying I should get a tracking notification yesterday. Still nothing. Pretty frustrating. It was just a pre-built machine advertised on their site, and nothing about it was particularly high end. Just a 1080p basic gamer for my family. I'm not too stressed about it but they advertise 2-5 day shipping so 14 days with no real progress is disappointing. Next time I'll go with someone else.

    • Sorry to hear that, happy to look into it and escalate for you if you can provide some order details.

      • +6

Feels a bit like I had to make a public post to get this treatment. That doesn't inspire confidence either. How many others are in the same boat as me but aren't getting a special effort?

        • +2

Wasn't aware any of their machines were pre built.

          From their website:

All customisable systems are built to order; none are ready to ship "off the shelf". The estimated time from order to dispatch is listed on each product page (directly under the image gallery on desktop, or a little further down on mobile)

What was the estimated dispatch time for your order? Mine was 10 - 15 business days.

          • @SnakeCasablanca: 'The estimated time from order to dispatch for your order is 2-7 business days. We'll be in touch throughout the process with important info and updates, so stay tuned!'

That was on the 24th of April

            • +1

@Uncle Bert: Fair enough. You have a genuine beef here. Disappointing they didn't meet their time frames. Doesnt make me confident of them meeting the long timeframes set for mine.

              • @SnakeCasablanca: Yeah, it definitely sucks. I'm in no real rush for it but the terrible contact is too much of a red flag.

I'd suggested the same deal to two friends who were waiting for mine to arrive before ordering one each. They're not going through with it now. I'll wait it out but won't be recommending this place to anyone.

                • @Uncle Bert: On the positive side… The last PC I bought from them in 2019 was great and I just sold it still working to buy my most recent purchase. So hopefully its worth the wait!

                  • +1

@SnakeCasablanca: Bought it in 2019 and it arrived in 2023?

                    • +1

@Uncle Bert: Lol. Just got a message that my order has now entered its "10 to 15 business day build period". I ordered it 5 business days ago and it told me 10 to 15 day dispatch.

                      It begins.

                      • +1

@SnakeCasablanca: Yep. Still waiting on the tracking number they promised me on Wednesday. No response to my latest email either. OP has been active on here though.

                        • @Uncle Bert: Did you get the PC yet? Doesn't sound like your experience has been great.

                          • +1

@combatant: I got it. No response or explanation from them though.
Also not that impressed by the loose screw rolling around under the motherboard. Considering it spent a fortnight being tested, you'd think they'd catch that.
I won't be going with these guys again.

          • +1

@SnakeCasablanca: By pre-built I meant that it was them who designed the build. I didn't pick any specific parts. I figured that meant that they would have the parts in stock ready to assemble and send out fairly quickly.

    • +4

      Interesting that you say that.
I ordered a 5070 rig last Tuesday and updates were swift and it’s just been shipped today. So no issues on my end, it must just be something to do with the stock of the PC you bought.

      • +2

The assumption here is items are in stock given he picked a standard offering. right?

        • +1

          Yep. Exactly my thinking.

      • It might be. They haven't contacted me about it though. I'm not picky about the parts, so if they wanted to swap something I'd happily confirm and get on with it.

The last time they contacted me was to tell me that I would receive tracking info the following day. It's been a few days since that email and still no tracking info, update, or explanation.

  • Is it eligible to obtain 3 year manufacturer warranty on parts?

    • +2

Of course… You get whatever manufacturer warranty the manufacturer offers. (Some are also longer than manufactuers offer as per Australian consumer law)

      • Except it may not have a manufacturer warranty, for example AMD only offers OEM warranty on OEM chips (which this could well be). Different warranties apply depending on whether it's retail boxed or OEM parts.

        • +1

Ok yeah, my bad, it'd still have the same warranty as the manufacturer offers/ACL offers, just any OEM parts would need to be RMA'd to Tech Fast rather than the manufacturer.

          • @The One Demon: For example, if this 5090 burns after 2 years, who will be responsible, as TechFast offers 1 year RTB warranty?

            • @Meteor Anarcom: Re read my comment maybe?

              • @The One Demon: I've gone through the ACCC website about the warranty, no mention to the specific warranty period

                • @Meteor Anarcom: It works basically on a value and expected lifetime. A 5k GPU for example would be extected to last 5+ years at minimum. Same goes for a TV that expensive etc.

                  • @The One Demon: Source? There isn't any clause in ACL stated like that. There is no mention about how long warranty period should how much worth items have at all

                    • +3

@Meteor Anarcom: There isn't a hars and fast rule, i should have worded that better, but this is an example from the ACCC warranty and refunds PDF -

Example: A consumer buys a top-of-the-range plasma television for $1800. It stops working two years later. The supplier tells the consumer they have no rights to repairs or another remedy as the television was only under the manufacturer’s warranty for 12 months. The supplier says the consumer should have bought an extended warranty, which would have given five years’ cover. A reasonable consumer would expect to get more than two years’ use from a $1800 television. Under the consumer guarantees, the consumer therefore has a statutory right to a remedy on the basis that the television is not of acceptable quality. The supplier must provide a remedy free of charge.

                      • +1

@The One Demon: Ideally it should be like that. We can't do anything about it if they refuse to provide warranty out of the given period in reality. Also, they have plenty of reasons to reject the repair request even within the warranty period, like it's physically damaged or intentionally broke.

All we can do is to pay some money to the CATs in advance and do a lot of paperwork. Then wait half a year. Even this can't guarantee a satisfactory outcome.

I've done this. It was annoying. We'll need to contact the seller by ourselves. Forgot to mention, we'll even need to pay $20 to ASIC for the company info for letting CATs know who the respondent is.

If we lose contact with them, we are simply done. I'm stuck at this step. VCAT let me send them my claims but there is no way to do that.

  • +6

Unmatched in terms of value, $ per frame, bang for buck - you name it, it does not get cheaper

checks price - +$5k "what the fa"

    • +1

Insane value for prebuilts, but insane price otherwise.

    • +15

It's a 5090 so what do you expect? The entire build is literally cheaper than buying a separated 5090 right now lmao.

      • -7

I don't think we can mix words such as value and $5k pc.
This is an enthusiast only PC, nothing else , not a brain for sure

        • run a llm and it will be a brain, try it

        • +1

Pretty much a must for localised gen AI or high end VR gaming

  • What temps should you exepct while running deamnding games that use the cpu well with the air cooler?

    • +9

If you're associated, surely you can sort that out yourself. Also this deal is for a 7800X3D

      • -5

Thanks!I used the coupon from this link to upgrade to the 9800X3D, making sure all the configurations were the same, but now it’s $800 AUD cheaper than when I bought it just last week!
I’ll try to reach out to TechFast about my order.

        • +6

Techfast are generally quite helpful in regards to order changes and price differences before the build has been completed. Reach out to them ASAP but if its already been built, you might be out of luck.

As unfortunate as it may be, if you were happy with the price when you purchased the build then any future prices shouldn't matter.

Even if theres nothing they can do, im sure you'll still enjoy your build.

Also for future reference, you shouldn't mark yourself as associated unless you work or are associated with the business in the deal.

    • -4

Agree this PC has a 7800x3d, much cheaper cpu.

Don't know why you're worried about losing money after buying an expensive PC.
If you got money to blow why would you care?
You already lost money when you bought a prebuild instead of building one yourself.

      Time to move on.

      • +4

I prefer to build my own PCs (and have done so for my last few) but from what I've seen its the other way around, you lose money trying to build something yourself vs an equivalent sale spec from Techfast. But yeah since he presumably bought a prebuilt from techfast not on OZB sale pricing then the pricing would have swung more in their favour.

        • That's fair enough

    • +3

You've only got yourself to blame. the pricing on 5090's is super inflated right now, and any day they could drop by another $1k. RRP should be $4,000 not $5,799. It's literally the worst time to buy a 5090 if you're even the slightest bit concerned about budget.

This deal is cheaper than the last sure, but the pricing is still outrageous and shouldn't be seriously considered by anyone unless they literally don't care about the price and just want to get their hands on a 5090 right now. And it's not TechFast's fault - they're doing a great job getting the cheapest possible prices for us.

      • +7

IMO RTX 5090 should be $2500-$3000. Nvidia is being too greedy.

    • Were you able to change to this deal?

  • Do you have any cases that are more 'subtle'? I don't want any RGB, flashing lights or windows into the case. Just something that's all black and sleek if possible.

    • Just turn the lights off? Assuming you can

  • Would be good to see an upgrade option to CL36 ram, and more reasonable costs to upgrade the cooler.

    • +1

When you are getting these deals it is worth it just to get the ram you want when it's on sale and resell the ram it came with. It isn't a difficult part to swap out ;)

  • +2

@ Patrick the 9800x3d is $400 more than the 7800x3d

    • -3

I used the coupon from this link to upgrade to the 9800X3D, making sure all the configurations were the same, but now it’s $800 AUD cheaper than when I bought it just last week!:(

  • +2

Fairly happy with a similar system I got from them (the launch deal), the default case however barely fits the GPU and the side panel presses against the cable when you close it, which makes me very nervous given the 5090s reputation.

Of course nvidia runs the Doom promotion after I get my PC through

    • How does it run? And which case would you recommend?

    • Doom? Isnt that an old game?

      • +5

As old as the dark ages.

        • 😂

  • How does the shipping work if someone is not home? Will the package be delivered to the post office for pickup? Can we choose to deliver to a parcel locker to ensure we can pick up from Post Office?

    • AU post no wrys!

      • Can you elaborate?

        • +2

From what I know, they’ll pack everything into one big box, and the person who placed the order will need to go to the post office with valid ID to collect it.

  • -3

The link is 5388 now is it any promotion code or any other link

    • +1

there is a coupon code in the listing

    • 7800X3D-5090-MAY

  • +2

Can you guys dont build it and just ship everything to me

    • +2

I think some of the parts would be OEM, such as the CPUs, so they might not be allowed to sell them separately as it would then compete with boxed retail CPUs at a lower cost price.

      • +1

Agree they maybe get some cheapest cpu that not in the box for retail and sell it with 5090

    • you are legend

  • -1

or it have to be build

  • Is there an option to have the system unbuilt / each component sent in boxes or needs to come prebuilt as a package?

    • Following this. I basically just want two of the components. @luketechfast

      • +3

I guess it doesn't hurt to ask, but as I commented above some of the parts are OEM, meaning purchased in bulk and not in traditional retail boxes. There could plausibly be restrictions on selling these direct to consumers as they would compete with boxed retail at a lower cost price.

        • I'm happy either way but I'm basically asking if I sell off the other components and have an issue with an item I have, do I only send the broken component or the whole system again.

I'll go check the site if there's info on it though.

          • @Joopz89: I see. That does complicate things a bit.

    • +4

We don't offer this sorry. Used to, creates too many complications ultimately so we are sticking with the complete built system model.

      • Does this mean that if the GPU stops working due to melt gate or something, we have to send the entire PC back?

Eg we upgrade the PSU in this machine, the warranty is then void?

      • +1

Can you at least provide the boxes for the processor heatsink and video card due to the weight and likelihood of them being damaged during transit? At $5K+ for the video card alone, I wouldn't want to take any chances.

Edit: I've just noticed this is available for the video card during checkout but at an additional cost of $20+.
