Why is the 4060 build $748 in the heading and $688 in the description?

    • +5

      Fixed, $688 is right.

  • Hello with the 4060 how much extra to swap to a 7800xt?

    • Also interested.

    • +2

7800 XT wouldn't fit in this case and isn't available anymore. About to be replaced on the website.

      • -8

How is the 7800xt not available?

        • +2

Maybe because they're not being produced anymore? Are u ok bro?

    • TINY-ITX: assuming there's a TINY-7800xt that fit, can the hardware-listed support it…curious ?

GPUs are pretty much plug and play these days? Only real concerns are your PSU and size of the case you plan to use. The mobo maybe but that isn't a concern for modern systems

Thanks :) Longer than I was hoping for xD

  • Sweeeeet.
RTX5060 looks underwhelming so going to bite the bullet and get the RTX4060 at this price in a small form factor build.

These and all Ozb deal systems are subject to estimated 10-14 business day handling. Also given there is only one working day left this week with the shorter weeks, it wouldn't be achievable this week regardless.

  • Hey Luke, I dropped you a message a few weeks ago regarding this deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/853137) and you said you will look into it. Any updates please? For my use the AMD system is a better option. Thanks.

    • The only motherboard available is really prohibitive on both price and quantity, sorry.

      • No worries, I will see my luck on EOFY promos.

  • +7

    Plenty of units available…

    30 mins later gone

    • Yep as soon as I saw it I was straight onto it but too late… :-(

      • +1

Not good enough. You're meant to refresh every 5 minutes.

  • @luketechfast, do you sell the itx case separately?

  • +2

The prices are now comparable to last year (non-super), so this is good. Still holding on to see what the EoFY sale will bring.

  • +8

How in the hell? A 4060 is like $300-400 alone

  • +1

Do you have any cases that don’t feature tempered glass for the 5070ti build? Im looking for something around the Lian-li Dan A3 size.

  • +1

Get the 5070ti or wait for a RX 9070 XT deal? I read lots of driver problems with Nvidia.

Would this benefit from upgrading to a 78000x3D?

    • +1

Any particular resolution you're going to be gaming at? IMO at 4K it's not the biggest difference, it will help with those 1% lows but not a huge bang for buck. If you're doing 1440p and want high frame rate shooters then the 7800x3d might deliver a lot more.

IMO I'd grab a 9070 XT deal, there's a few around still (or a techfast one or a nebula one that the code still works for). Generally faster shipping times from non-techfast deals.

I use this as my general guideline for GPUs, but always read further into it. It's very game dependent if there's something specific you want to play.

      • Thanks, I think I will do as you suggest and lean toward amd.

I was considering the 7800x3d as the last few desktop deals people raved about that CPU so I suppose it’d be a bit more future proof than other alternatives minus the 9800x3d (but I really have no clue).

I come from a 1070 … so surely it will make a huge difference either way

Edit: with the price being on par between the 5070ti and 9070xt, I might go Nvidia? Errrrr I don’t know!!!

        • +1

I'd go nvidia for DLSS 4 alone if the price is the same, I went from the 1070 > 4070 Ti which was massive so you'll get a huge jump in performance.

    Hi Luke,

I have emailed and yet to receive a response. I am still waiting on on my order from the January 5080 GameRock deal ordered Feb 4th (late Feb - early March drop).

Any ETA on these builds yet?

    • Jeez that’s a month late at least. I’d be requesting a full refund.

  • Ordered ITX one!So lucky!Any idea for me to upgrade the CPU cooler ?

  • +4

Not sure how many penty of units were… keep missing out…

  • another stock taken sale for old components (cpu, ram, motherboard etc).

  • +2

Is it possible to get a link that still works for the $688 build?

Wanting to send it to a friend to look through the pics etc, so I can just jump on the next deal.

  • Anyone remember if pc parts get cheaper or more expensive with US tariffs on China?
Do the hopes of everyone dumping them in Aus a fantasy?

    • +1

Totally fantasy, if China dumping parts they gonna go with SEA market. Why would they waste money for logistic on a low population country like Aus?

      • +4

Because Australians buy waaaay more tech components per capita than any other country - including the US - and when compared to the South East Asian market - Australians buy exponentially more tech gear.

  • Doh those 4060 builds sell out so fast… I've been wanting one, though I'd much prefer a more standard size mATX build (12400F/4060 combo)…. hopefully there might be a sale on those in the near future :)

EDIT - also, will the 9800X3D be available sometime in the future? The "AMD Ryzen 7 7700 | RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC" looks mighty fine, but I'd rather upgrade to the 9800X3D instead of the 7800X3D (or is it waaaay more expensive… the 7800X3D is already a $250 upgrade over the 7700)

  • +2

Sold out very quick! All gone.

  • what ports are available on the Leaper-I ITX case. doesn't look like there is any in the front or on the side

  • is it possible to upgrade the motherboard?

  • +5

The ITX build sells out within minutes like the last deal. Is it just me or does it feel like bait for their more expensive builds. I am keen to buy one…

    • -4

Do you feel like it's a good deal ? then i guess other people think so too lol

      • Yes fantastic deal heaps of people would be keen to buy but seriously they definitely didnt have much stock to be gone that quick.

Definitely a marketing ploy at that price there would be no profit.

    • +2

I reckon the ITX machine stocks lasted about an hour and a half..
There must have been a heap of stock.. to last that long..

      previously about an hour

less than 45 minutes on boxing day

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/886196

      Cost Breakdown

      1 x Processor: Intel Core i5 12400F | 4.4GHz | 6 Core 12 Thread Processor - $149
1 x Processor Cooling: Intel Stock Cooler - included in above.
      1 x Case: TechFast Leaper-I ITX Case
1 x Motherboard: Intel H610M [ITX] Motherboard - $149 - (preivously for sale at centrecom at this price).
1 x Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB Graphics Card - itx size cheapest is $499, cheapest 4060 is $439
      1 x Memory: 16GB [3200MHz] DDR4 RAM (Black Heatsink) - $40
      1 x Operating System SSD: 500GB NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive - $30

its going to cost you around $807 to put this system together without the ITX case and power supply..
The leaper ITX case is of impressive, quality, the PSU is not (but, Flex PSUs are not cheap).. there's probably $100 - $200 worth there to get a SFF PSU and decent ITX case.

To put something similar together is a small ITX case is going to leave you little to no change from a $1000 .. and still you need the time to assemble and troubleshoot..

Hence why they sell out all the time..so quickly..

You still need to add in the m2 wifi.. which requires a almost full dismantle..

Otherwise a few of my preiovus experiences with the Leaper ITX systems and variants are below in the links.

      https://forums.overclockers.com.au/threads/techfast-itx-gami…
      https://forums.overclockers.com.au/threads/techfast-itx-gami…

      • Very good summary. This is the cheapest and I had been eyeing for a while but missed out again. I put together a similar system in matx form factor using Facebook and ozb deals with mostly brand new parts.
        I5 $110,
b750m wifi from radium PC (still available) $140
        64gb RGB ram cl16 3600 $120
Thermaltake fish tank case Amazon $69
        750w 80+ PSU centrecom $74
        Rx7600 new on Facebook. $325
Wd blue nvme 1tb SSD old ozb deal $60
Crucial bx 1tb SATA SSD old ozb deal $55
3x thermalright RGB fans $24 old ozb deal Amazon
Total $930 so for $738 including shipping for techfast is no brainer

    • Certainly feels that way i would have definitely had bought one. Definitely creates interest.

  • +3

Wow, I emailed them earlier this morning about this exact deal and they said “all we can say is keep and eye out on OZbargain” and here I am 7 hours too late to the party.

  • +9

Usually I'm not one to complain but I've recommended 2 friends to purchase computers with TechFast - in particular the 5080 builds. Both of them have had issues with RAM compatibility, and as such TechFast have said to send the RAM back. Then after reading more OzBargain comments, seems like these weren't isolated incidents. To make matters worse, their response times are horribly long for any sort of support.

YMMV but I thought I'd add my 2 cents. Not sure I'll recommend this lot again.

    • +1

Yes, I had a problem with my system and so did my mate who I recommended Techfast too.

Techfast are cheap but at the cost of reliability.

It's a big hassle to return stuff and to get things fixed.

But, given the cost, I'll try my luck again with them.

    Hi Luke,

I requested for OrderNumber but got ignored ?.
I have just sent another email this morning. Please update status on my order. Thanks.

For those experienced at building and wanting to choose their own components..
I dont think either of the Ryzen deals, afford enough savings to justify the compomises that are made..

For example The Ryzen 7500F $1788 plus postage, versus PCPP value of $1922
if you are prepared to grab a Ryzen 7700 from Aliexpress for around $260- $270 during the coupon sales. that saves around $40 for a better processor and choose to grab a 32gb Hynix kits C30/C32 for around $135 dollars or $50 more..

means you could get an equiavlent Ryzen 7700 with 32gb ram for $1932 versus $1788 plus postage for a 7500F with 16gb ram.. You will of course have to put the whole thing togerther yourself, but you get to keep all the boxes etc..

Similarly with the Ryzen 7700 system for $2388 plus postage versus the PCPP value of $2601.54, if you are prepared to grab a Ryzen 7700 from Aliexpress for around $260- $270 during the coupon sales. there's a $200 savings, which brings the PCPP coast at around the $2400, meaning there are no actual dollar savings..

Of course the value of a prebuilt machine, "tested", assembled, labour costs versus DIY yourself and choosing the most appropriate / best value / better parts will need to be considered.

The issues with most prebuilts systems is that any deviation from the standard, usually results in signficant increase in costs.. (more than the apprarent price difference) presumably due to bulk buying of certain components.

For example the gigabyte B650M gaming is not a board, I would ever buy (horrible VRMs).. for a litte bit more money.. you could get the MSI B650M-A, the MSI b650M- gaming plus or the Asus B650m-E TUF Gaming.

similarly Hynix C30/C32 6000mhz, is only around $135- $150… barely $10 - $20.. and is probably worth the minimal additional cost..

And with the SSD, spending a little more would get a TLC versus a QLC drive.

Once again.. placing an order an Techfast is akin to a preorder, where there don't currently have all the parts onhand.. and is subject to all sorts to potential logistics and shortages.. and can take over 2 months to fulfill. its seems 4-5 weeks is the norm for many.

    • Your experience with gaming-PC shine & only known by enthusiasts…I'm a mere-observer, lol.

  • how about some more of the $688's : )

  • What sort of performance can you expect with modern / AAA games on the 4060 system?

  • +1

I'm torn, the 7800X3D upgrade with 5070ti works out only $138 more than the 9070xt +7800x3d build from techfast..
Everything im reading says I should go with the 5070ti if its this close in price, with 5-10% boost in fps + features.
Only hesitant due to reports of 1% lows/stutter are pretty bad on the 5070ti (possibly driver issue that can be fixed)..
I was sure this generation i'd be going with AMD, now i'm leaning to the 5070ti.
Playing on 4k 120 hz lg oled.
Is the 7800X3D worth the upgrade? And would I need to also upgrade the PSU on the system?
    Thoughts?

    • I’m exactly in the same situation about choosing either GPU and CPU. Also playing on lg oled so not looking to put saving onto a new monitor.

My conclusion: wait and see. With Nvidia loss of popularity and AMD getting more stock, I’m hoping for a little price drop and get the closest to $2000 possible for EOFY sales.

      • what did you go with? The included doom game $100~ rrp sweetens the deal somewhat

  • Bro I keep missing out cause i just had surgery and somehow got sick today like what are the chances, surely u like a save one for me next time?
People are just buying the cheap one and reselling surely there's a limit they can buy?!?!

  • Luke anything else in the pipeline for 4060 around $700?
Don't really care about much else, just want to play Oblivion remastered and the OOS build would have been perfect :(

  • Hi Luke, I've noticed your company is located in Adelaide and I was wondering if there's anyway to get the 5070ti deal and arrange pick up instead of paying for the shipping? I understand fully that turnaround times can take awhile which is understandable and I'm okay with but would really like to organise picking up when it's ready instead of shipping if its possible.

    • Absolutely, just let the sales team know via email

      • Awesome thankyou, also I've been having issues with getting the code to work at the checkout. Was working fine the other day but not today. Was looking at getting the 5070ti with upgrading the CPU to the 7800x3d but the code isn't working with or without that upgrade in my cart.

  • Hi Luke, just wondering if you can allow us to pre-order the ITX? I don’t mind the wait time.

  • Do you guys ship to melbourne?

    • We ship Australia Wide

  • @luketechfast Hi Luke, I just saw the 5080 deal you posted, can you give an option to upgrade to Asus TUF Gaming B650M-E WiFi Motherboard please?

    • +1

      Yep replied to your PM

  • @luketechfast Hi Luke, i ordered 5070ti rig on 24th order number is #TF48239250696. would I be eligible for Doom game bundle?

  • Anyone know what the actual model of PSU that would be delivered? I'm interested in the 7800x3d + 5070 Ti, but not sure if I should upgrade from the 750W to 850W Gold PSU, and curious if it's the XPG Core Reactor or similar?

Though I'm also not sure if I should wait another month for any EOF deals…

    • was considering waiting for EOFY deals, but that free doom game looks like it makes up for it.. Hmm

  • Is it possible to just get all the parts for self-assembly? If so, would it be quicker or cheaper?
