  • Hmm.

Do laptops count as Computers or Electronics? How about video game consoles?

    • That all depends on how the seller categorises them.

    • -4

No they count as womens apparel.

    • +1

Laptops are categorized under computers by default unless the seller changes it. Video games and consoles are a separate category to both.

Does this work with an Aus account? If not, can I change my address or will I need a new account?

    • US account only

    • Better off making a new account in case they cancel your main. Do it in advance.

      • Anyone got an idiot's guide to properly creating an eBay US account as an Australian user?

        • +3

Sign up as you would normally, use a secondary email if you have one. Use a random US address or one from a freight forwarding company (Shopmate, MyUS etc) as your primary address.

Make your shipping address your actual AU address

Using your AU paypal is fine

Doesn't the 10% basically just cover GST?

    • +2

Not if you buy from an Aussie seller.

    • +3

Australians voted for a GST when then the Liberal Party ran advertisements claiming they would be paying less tax because of it.

Australians voted for the Liberal Party to lower electricity costs.

      Aren't the voters clever.

      • -1

Australian's do not decide who comes into power, that bald headed media lunatic who resides in the U.S. does.

  • forgive my ignorance I haven't been keeping up on this topic of US eBay deals, but don't most item shipping costs come up quite prohibitive?.. Or is it still better than local purchase factoring it in?

    • +2

You could order items on listed on ebay Australia website and have it shipped to your Australian address, but all from the ebay US website where the discount code works.

  • Any way to get a cheap Xiaomi Robot through this deal?

    • Yes.

      • How cheap? Best I can find still comes to like $380 for the first gen.

  • Excludes Paper Money? Aww.. I was really looking forward to buying some Magic cards…

  • In 4 days? Leaving it a bit close to Christmas? Excludes gift cards? I'm assuming purchasing? We can still use them to actually purchase correct?

Thanks again chibot for all the eBay deal posts!

    • +2

You can't use Australian (EBAY AU) gift cards on Ebay USA.

    • A new/unused gift card is only tied to purchases of origin (eBay AU gift card, only works with eBay AU) but if you use a portion of the gift card as part of a payment, the remaining gift card balance is then tied to your eBay account, and in the past on multiple occasions, I've successfully been able to checkout, with my eBay AU account on any eBay site(US,UK etc)

  • Mobiles?

    • 10% off.

  • Presents galore indeed, they will all arrive on the same day on the 27th of Jan after everyone is back from leave

  • Last time they ran 10% off in the US didn't they follow up a day or so later with the same her (with a diff min spend)? Is that normal do you think?

  • Please check the coupon code. It does not match what is written in the description or on eBay. PresentsGalore or PickupSale?

    • +1

Thanks, it's PICKUPSALE. I've tested it on some items including a Nintendo console and it works.

  • Confirmed this works. Purchased a couple candles. Thank you!

  • being charged delivery on AU seller! arghhh … what went wrong

~~ edit … nevermind. Ebay plus in AU site gets free shipping, elsewhere no. oh well…

    • Most likely done by American stores only. Doesn't affect aussie sellers.

    • Google Chromecast Audio —$13.50 ($1.50 off)

Lol we are getting ripped off by Google in Aus!

  • Will the code work on Auctions? If i can get 10% off instead of 5% (PERCENT5) I could bid on an item that closes today using US account

  • Just after I bought something last night. Thanks Santa!

This deal was posted 4 days ago! Shoulda been paying attention 😂

      • My eyes are shit. Thanks santa!

    • Hello hath no fury like an OzBargainer 'jumped the gun.

  • What's the quick way to find AuS seller on US eBay?

    • +2

The quicker way would be to find what you want on eBay OZ and then change the eBay.com.au to eBay.com.

    • +2

goto ebay.com.au, find the stuff you want. Note the item numbers, E.g.

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Grey-Goose-Vodka-700ml/182877991…

      item number is 182877991037

      then on ebay.com/itm/<item number>

      ebay.com/itm/182877991037

    • delete the .au in the URL

  • Tried to buy an AU item from category: Video Games & Consoles > Video Game Consoles and I got This code can't be applied to your order.

Not very descriptive. I don't see what's wrong with it.

  • Even with 15% off some stuff is more expensive than from Aliexpress. This USB DAC is $67.99. It's $60.72 on Aliexpress.

    • 5% with cashrewards too

  • Grabbed myself a Xiaomi robo vac from Gearbite and a few random bits and pieces 😬

  • cheers, just saved $28.50 on 20 items.. (AU coupons usually limit it to 10 items).
