Much difference between these and the cheap target options?

    • I'd like to know too. The online market is flooded with cheap random brands. Is paying extra worth it?

      • +2

The Philips Airfryer would be heaps better than any generic branded cheap Airfryer. The reason being it has a better quality and more powerful electric motor.

I see. I might just find a deep fryer and use my oven for healthier options.

i had one a cheap one from kogan and the plastic/non stick? on the bottom inside the fryer started peeling so i got rid of it for a philips one otherwise not much difference.

      • same issue happening to our cheapo one (not form Kogan) from catch
whats on the inside of the philips?

we've started using foil now but that now means the food cooks slower, only slightly faster than a conventional fan forced oven

        • non stick coating as well on the outer but a thin steel mesh.

    • I got the one from kmart. Was pretty fancy with the touch screen and display.

However the fries and nuggets always left a metallic taste even after the 3rd try.

      Returned the item.

Such a good price, especially for the XXL!

  • what difference between this one and the oven?

    • +6

So instead of waiting 15mins to warm up the oven, the food will be cooked in 15mins in the airfryer.

    • +2

      Oven costs more.

You would have to own this product for a long time before you'll get paid back the money you paid for it though.

This is basically buying a smaller oven for cooking smaller things to save electricity, but you'll need a bigger oven for bigger things.

    • i find it much cripsier and dont really need to flip things, but it could just be my oven is shitty

      • Is your oven fan forced?

        • nope

          • @mrmc: There's your problem.

A fan forced oven will cook things nice and crispy and you won't have to flip things, especially if you use appropriate baking dishes.

Costco has the turbo for $260.

    It retails for $399

Very good price. Just order one XXL.
    Thanks

  • The cashback link seems to just go through a login loop once you have registered your product. Can't get it working :(

  • Wonder if XXL analogue is better than digital?
I found the old version analogue is more reliable than digital version.

Note, myer does not sell analogue version (HD9630)

Below seller is selling for $314:

    HN: https://www.harveynorman.com.au/philips-viva-collection-xxl-…

    Amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/Philips-Airfryer-Analogue-HD9630-2…

    Eligible for cashback $50.

Just bought the HD9651-91 last week from Appliances Online on eBay for $355.60 with 10% coupon.

I need someone to teach me how to OzBargain a little better.

FYI, the fryer is great. A bit of a pain to clean, but flipping it upside down makes it a lot easier.

  • I just bought one also from myer ebay few days ago at 237$ (after CB). Should I return and get the one at 205$(after CB)? Is it easy to return stuff from Myer?

  • I tried using the code PMYERGIFT for HD9643 but it says that "This code can't be applied to your order" when trying to apply to the Ebay price of $319.20.

Anyone experiencing the same thing? I've emailed Ebay to confirm.

    • I just tried and it worked for me.

    • I just tested the code and it worked.

It may be worth trying a different browser.
(Also, the code can only be used 3 times max … I assume you haven't used it 3 times already)

did you change you ebay region to US for previous sales. if so, change it back to australia region

      • Ahhh thanks, eBay confirmed that was the issue.

Myer has bumped the eBay prices up to $339 and $449, respectively, so not as hot as it was.

    • They sent me an email earlier that due to limited stock, my delivery will be delayed. Hoping I'll still receive it before Xmas.

    • Thanks warthog618.
      I have expired the deal.
