34c discount is about what you'd need at most Shells to be competitive with the alternatives. I'm amazed the occasional cars still go there. 1 of them closes at night time when Metro drops 10c.
2 in my area recently stayed at at 160's and high 140's whilst a Metro was 116.9 (average difference, 34c) and the Caltex's were around 126.9
7-Eleven price lock (or a decent independent) is going to be almost always be better unless you only have Shell in your town, in which case… Good luck.
There's a shell on coronation Dve in Brisbane that rarely ever goes below $1.50/L. When everyone else was selling fuel at $1.16/L it had it at $1.40 iirc. It's the last to lower their prices and the very first to raise it.
Theres only 1 other station nearby (BP on Milton Rd) so I think they jack it up so they can profit off the 'cbf shopping around' commuter crowd.
At least 90% of the population is in that crowd
Lots of people lease cars and drive work vehicles and probably use the shell fuel card

I agree with you. Stopped going to Coles since fuelwatch app was launched. Find APW to be cheaper consistently, however is 9 km and only go there when shopping for ethnic groceries.

I signed up for Shell Express emails some time ago and receive (only) occasional 6c/litre bar codes (in emails) from them that I stack with the Coles 4c/litre for 10c/litre.
(Perhaps it was a Flybuys promotion or similar; 30L petrol minimum, or a promotion on a receipt). The bar codes are for once only, for a week at a time. Always use these additional bar codes. I find it unusual, but useful, that they do send reminders before they send the emails bar codes.
I dont have any Westpac accounts.
Google "Shell V-Power Club member" for info. on how to receive same 6c/litre bar codes. I don't recall how I connected with this, so cannot advise.

P.s. for those in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs where fuel is ridiculously expensive compared to the south and west (averaging 145c at the moment), a new BP opened this week on Carrington Rd Clovelly and is charging 119.9 for E10 (though Metro Randwick, which is normally one of the cheapest, has reduced theirs to 123.9, so not too far off).
Normally using Fuelcheck in these parts it's still not worth the fuel in traffic or travel time to go fuel hunting.

10c off for me too. On the tap on the menu and then on 'Rewards & Offers'. Ts&Cs says it is stackable with other offers. Coles Express on Bell street Coburg is the only one I go when I have these offers. Otherwise Metro.
