Talking to my homie that sells these. Be EXTREMELY careful as a high number are coming in with a high amount of blue hue, and some green.

So for a similar price, why would one get a Hisense 65inch over an LG/Panasonic 65 inch oled when it’s on sale like we’ve seen recently?

    • +5

Hisense stopped being a "generic" bargain brand years ago and they come with a 3 year warranty over LG and Panasonic's 1 year.

      • +5

1 year for the rest but you still have up to 2-7 years as part of ACL so that doesnt really matter then..

    • +6

      Not sure.

The processing in the Sony/Panasonic is very likely to be superior.

    • Which other current model 65" have been at or near this price lately?

  • Wasn't the 65inch 5k only 2 weeks ago? Also, aren't they "new to market"?

What are people's thoughts? Do I go LG just for the overall quality and pay the extra $$?

    • +4

      Yes

  • Need proper technical reviews! Why would you buy at same price as LG/Panasonic sale prices?

I think these will be super cheap when they discount though.

  • +4

The Panasonic is cheaper most of the time. So I'm not sure how this is a deal. But I'm interested to see where the prices go in the next 6 months.

    • +1

Agreed I would be worried as its Hisense first OLED panel out on the market.

    • +2

Great, do you have a link to the cheaper Panasonic?

      • +7

        Yep here you go https://www.jbhifi.com.au/panasonic/panasonic-th-55fz950u-55…

Panasonic 55-inch OLED $1996 same price as the Hisense. You would be insane to go with the Hisense over the Panasonic which by the way has won awards across the board for their picture quality.

        • +1

The Panasonic definitely looks better in store when doing a side by side comparison.

I'm just happy that there are more and more brands making oled tvs

I’ve read the hisense OLED’s are using Gen1 LG panels, vs the Gen2 panels LG are using themselves now.

    I'm happy with my $599 Aldi 60", can't imagine spending $2000-3000 on a TV. I'm sure they're amazing tho.

    • cool….

    • +3

Price pays for quality. It's good you are happy for that, but some might not be.
Personally, I can't imagine spending any money on an Aldi TV. I'm sure they're decent tho.

    • Thanks for your uneducated opinion.

  • Hisense OLED Vs LG OLED vs Samsung QLED? or any UHD? What're your thoughts? Price and quality?

    • +1

If you are spending OLED money buy LG or Pana. Hisense unproven yet and prices are very similar. QLED is a wank and Samsung will sooner or later fold and come to the OLED party.

      • -1

and how do you compare UHD to OLED for a normal user who watches here and there (2-3 hours per week)? I know OLED is almost double the price of UHDs.

        • Oled is uhd. Uhd means ultra high definition. Oled means organic light emitting diode. Oled has much much better blacks and contrast levels than led.
