    Yamaha YAS-108 would be a much better option for $249 at The Good Guys

        The YAS-108 has better sound quality than the Bose Solo 5 and most reviews recommend it. Whereas the Solo 5 is attributed with lacklustre sound unlike most of Bose’s other products.

        The YAS-108 has built in separate tweeter and woofer speakers. The Bose Solo 5 only has a pair of midranges.

        The YAS-108 also has a HDMI input whereas the Solo 5 does not.

          I can vouch for YAS-108, bought for $195 on 20/11 at Harvey Norman. Bass is decent and 3D surround is good too. I connect my laptop with AUX, PS4 with Digital Audio Port and stream from phone & ipod using Bluetooth. Infront of my 32inch monitor it extends 3 inch on both sides. I like it.

              @bizarredeal: I had no problems mate. Just make sure you selected audio source as Bluetooth using either remote or first (left most) touch button on bar. If devices aren't connected already then Bluetooth indicator starts to blink, then search for Yamaha in your device and connect.

      The Yas 10X series seem to feature regularly for just under $200. I'd wait for it to go down again.

      The only upside of the Bose is the compact size - The Yamaha is a foot longer.

      The Solo 5 fits inside a TV cabinet on top of a DVD player or something.

    I’ve used this for a while , only good for a small room !!! Great price though !
