SodaStream Power - White (Electric Model) $151 Delivered @ Myer eBay

90
PMYERGIFT

Not to be confused with the similarly looking Play or Elements model, the Power model top of the line stainless steel push-button electric model that allows for more precise and consistent carbonation. $249 at JB's and on Amazon. $199 @ HN and DJ's.

I've had mine for 6 months after having several manual models. The ease of use and the premium look is well worth the extra coin IMHO.

Oh goodie. I can use this to toast my successor Scotty moving our embassy to Jerusalem. :D

    • you seem to have a bubbly personality. How long have you been using this SodaStream product?

      • Ever since my favourite actress Scarlett Johannsen left those awful commie Oxfam people.

  • Wasnt this at Aldi's just last week ?

    • That was the SodaStream Spirit Machine $69.99. Not too sure what the full differences though.

    • YEs. as mentioned that was the Spirit (w 1x 1L bottle). This is the Power which is the AC wall plug version of the Source (uses 1x CR123 battery). i opted for the Source from costco for $100 that comes with 3x 1L bottles. 2x 1L bottles were going for ~$8-9 at Aldi (most sellers on ebay had 2x 1L bottles for ~$15), thus making the SodaStream Source w/ 3 Bottles about 22$ more expensive. based on some reviews, the Source is the best model w/ only the Power being a model up having the only added feature of having plug-in power. all three of these models come with 1x CO2 canister. I think costco was also selling spare canister, 2xCO2 canisters for ~$60.

being a bargain site, i'd like to mention that the economics of having the machine is tough given you can get 1L bottles from the supermarket for ~$0.75. you'd need to drink a lot of carbonated water/drinks. much easier if you have parties or guest over often. can also save a bit of by diy connecting larger CO2 tank rather than using the standard sodastream CO2 canisters.

also note that there is also the SodaKing brand (~$40 if i recall correctly) that retails for a lot cheaper and is similar to the SodaStream Spirit.

having said that, i bought it more out of convenience — being able to diy carbonate drinks w/o having to run to the store

OP, I think you need to update the title to SodaStream POWER and remove the word Source. The Myer listing is not correct as I believe there is a model called SodaStream Power and SodaStream Source. Looking at the pictures on the link, the picture of the SodaStream packaging says SodaStream Power only.

FYI, the Power > Source apparently but both models have been since discontinued internationally. Not sure about Australia though.

  • I like the concept of preset carbonation levels (auto) but ideally don't want another plug in kitchen product. All other models are hand pump activated. Need to ponder! 🤔

    • Yeah. Assuming both models use the same bottles and accessories then I’d go with the non powered option.

  • Been looking to get a new Sodastream and this looks tempting but what's the real benefit in a powered one or precise carbonation?

I used to just manually press it 4 or 5 times depending on how I felt at the time. Am I missing something here?

    • It's just a preference….both will do exactly the same job! I just like the convenience of pressing a single button and getting exactly the same level of carbonation each time. Because it's heavier (metal) its just a more sturdy unit to use…. again subjective benefits!

  • Just bought one. Did a quick check with Aldi for VIC stock for the SS Spirit and none in stock except for Cranbourne and even then I could not guarantee it would be that cheaper price without going there. Wife got the White SS Power for me for XMass so all good.

    • Dammit.
