  • perfect timing
    thanks

  • Good price on the Unifi LR. Thanks

  • We have some of the AC Lite at work, but they occasionally overheat. Anyone know if the LR has the same problem? Other than that they're a great AP

    • I have the pro at home and they're fine.

    • AC LR here - Ipswich, Qld. Survived last heatwave just fine (unlike us).

      Ours has been super reliable.

    • AC-LR and AC-pro here. No issues with heat

    • I have the AC Lite and it is awesome. Great range, never needs a reboot. Haven’t had any issues with heat but am just using it at home. Not sure how they perform in an office environment.

  • even with postage of $13-15 it's bloody cheap for the AC-LR the cheaper ebay ones tend to not support AC (unless it's a firmware upgrade?)

    • +1

You can tell by the logo, the AC ones have the U logo whereas the non AC have a weird logo that looks like a pile of straws (old ubiquiti logo)

      • +1

cheers. although I wouldn't trust a ebay photo as they tend to steal whatever stock photo they find.

  • Cheers op

  • Can these be used AC-LR be used as a mesh system.

    • Yes. I'd suggest you mix it up with a couple of Pro so you don't have to use up multiple Ethernet Ports to the router.
      LR: 1 x Ethernet Port
      Pro: 2 x Ethernet Ports.

      • So you have to buy the pro separately?

        • The pro allows you to daisy chain the ethernet along between the APs. However we have the AC Lite, and you can connect them purely wirelessly (might need one connected by ethernet I'm not sure) - so I would think the LR can do wireless connection also. It's probably not ideal though unless you're renting and can't run cables.

      • I don't think the pro's second port can pass poe. I was thinking of doing the same thing untill I looked in the manual. Says for bridge mode. Correct me if I'm wrong?

        • +1

The Pro's 2nd Port can't pass POE per se, however, each Pro/LR you purchase comes with a POE injector. You plug the 2nd port into the injector, then from the injector into the Port of the LR.

          Router > injector > Pro's Main Port —- Pro's 2nd Port > injector > LR's single Port.

Let me know if you need further clarification.

    • I have an AC-LR wirelessly bridged.

It sits under my TV. Use it as a ap for my TV, htpc etc via a switch and a wifi 'repeater' for mobile devices.

  • Damn. AC LR was a good price. Spewing I missed that one!

  • Thanks op got one. Shame it didn't let me stack the discount with my membership discount. $108 sounded too good

  • Says deal gone

  • is the mouse no good?

    • maybe it's because it's ugly?

    • Its ok if you are a casual gamer but this one is more focused on looks than ergonomics

  • Too heavy, good package overall for casuals though

  • Any alternatives to this keyboard, the postage kills the deal…

  • +1

I clicked on the link for the mouse and it says "deal ended".
