$50 Gift Card with New Connections @ Telstra (in-Store)

60

Hi Ozbargainers,
1) First deal, hopefully I'm doing it right…
I got pamphlet in my letter box about free $50 gift voucher if you sign up for Any Telstra Sim only mobile plan or Handset plan on contract (New number or number porting only). (Ashfield Store Only & “MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM ABOUT THE DEAL AND MUST MENTION THAT YOU HAVE GOT THE PAMPHLET IN YOUR LETTERBOX AS THEY ARE NOT PROMOTING IN THE STORE”, they asked me if I have pamphlet on me, but I did forget at home, and they honored the deal)
I have been to the Ashfield store and got the deal for me and my partner. They also gave us 2 google home mini with the deal which worth RRP is $79 each.
2) Telstra are now offering Family and Friends deals again,
$69 p/m for 24m, Samsung Galaxy S9 64GB, unltd calls/txts, 30GB data plus Peace of Mind Data included (normally $10 extra p/m).
The closest plan currently on their site is $89 with 20gb data and without peace of mind, so this is good value for Telstra.
3) $54 p/m for 24m ($49 F&F plan + $5 for handset), unltd calls/txts, 15GB data.
Choose from Samsung Galaxy S8, Pixel 2 XL 64GB, Oppo R15 Pro, iPhone 6S 32GB.
So basically, i signed up for 2 Samsung s9’s. which is costing me $69 each plus $10 for the unlimited international calls (they have 15 countries, but I call only 2 😊)
$69+$69= $138 per month for 2 new phones plus they gave me $100 voucher which is like almost one-month bill paid and bonus 2 Google home mini, I am going to keep one and give someone as a Christmas gift.
I was helping few of my friends with this calculation and thought is worth sharing. As Christmas is here and everyone looking for saving money and buying gift.
I don't have any more details, if anyone has anything to add let me know and I'll edit the post.
Cheers,

  • it's all Telstra stores….

but the JB deal (if it is still on) was better for the $45 / 50gig - $200 JB card

    • i have not checked jb deals but this plans included new phones and $50 voucher was only in Ashfield store

  • Wow, Telstra still trying to palm off a iPhone 6s for $499 prepaid !!!

  • I hate to say this because $50 is $50 no flies on the OP for posting this.

But most Telstra plans are many $100's of dollars more expensive than the others over the life of the contract. You are far better trying to force a $10/m discount out of them which over 24m is $240
