  • Item description doesn't mention anything about formaldehyde (?), despite the title. If you're living with formaldehyde in the air, that can't be good

    • +4

The company is using it as a scare tactic.

In theory, hepa+activated charcoal should filter any organic poisons, such as formaldahyde.

I highly doubt any independant testing has been done though.

And charcoal filters do not last "3 to6 months" when exposed to humid air.

Look, all you need be concerned with is the; "ultra-clear OLED Digital Display", and that its a Xiaomi.

Can it purify cigarette smoke? Got a smoker in the house. It's annoying.

    • +2

Yuck. Problem is the cig smell permeates everything including the curtains, carpet, couch etc

    • Smoking outside more effective than this….

Although the smoker will still smell…

      Maybe buy them an e-cigarette?

      • +2

It's their house. I don't get to tell them what to do. The best I can do is move out.

    • This will turn your stinking smoker house to fragrant garden of Eden.

  • hi guys/girls, after a feedback from current owner, will this help with nose allergic to to pollen/dust? ie water come out of the nose constantly.

    • +2

I purchased a similar model by Xiaomi through Kogan.
I've noticed the room definitely doesn't get as dusty as quick and both my nose and my partners is less runny. Is it the unit; no idea, too many variables. At the price I thought it was worth a try.

Proper vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning of things like sheets, pillows, curtains and sealing gaps in windows/doors is the first port of call. Removing carpet is the best thing you can do. We have done all that but also have evaporative aircon in an old style of house which is prone to dust.

Thanks for this. I’ve got 2 of the previous models without the OLED screen and they are fantastic. Just bought one of there.

Also worth knowing there are 3 different types of filter and some knockoffs around. Currently Kogan have filters cheapest ($39).

They work well and are very quiet. Highly recommended.

  • Anyone with one, know if this helps with pollen?
Hayfever this year was pretty bad, and I was considering one of these at the time.

    • In one of the expired post, 1 person said didn't help with hayfever.. I don't know… Need more reviews.

      • Yeah i couldn't find much about it's effectiveness either, hence was hoping someone with a unit (and hayfever) could confirm.

  • Is stock actually in Sydney, or will it ship from China ? Been wanting to get one of these for a while.

    • stock in Syd

  • Does the LCD screen turn off or dim?

  • Cmiiw, but this is not HEPA, is it? Therefore it doesn't filter bacteria and viruses?

    • There are 3 types of filters. The one it comes with is probably not HEPA. But you can buy a more expensive one that has it.

The purple one is called Antibacterial, for what it's worth.

      • It says something h11 epa, what is that…

Just a warning about this seller, their stock is currently locked by Australian Customs pending release.
Ordered my item on 2nd of December and still haven't received it.

    Good new price though

    • Stock in warehouse, not with customs.

    • Why was your item sent from overseas? It seems like every item in their ebay store says "AU STOCK"?

      • Please advise your order number and buyer ID , We will check it.

  • where is the cheapest place to buy filters?

Btw, this is cheaper from ebay US.

    • someone said kogan $39
are you sure from ebay US? link please and no gst i supposed?

      • No GST for the purifier. But you have only an hour or two before the code expires.

        15% off vs 10% off.

        • code pickupsale, right?

i tried, click this item, remove the .au, checkout, applied code, but:

This code can't be applied to your order.

ah, im using ebay AU. no wonder

          • @CyberMurning: I just bought one, and can confirm I got 15% off.

            I hope it's good.

I couldn't decide which colour filter to buy. One is Antibacterial (purple), one is Enhanced (green), and one is standard (blue) which the purifier comes with. I bought the green one because it's the most expensive and I assume it's the best.

Had to get them from HK/CN which means 10% GST, but with 15% off, it's like getting 5% off overall (thanks Scott, Malcolm and Gerry).

  • It's an excellent item, purchased one on the 11.11 sale. Odour eliminating is the biggest benefit so far (we have a pet rabbit, and since having it deployed near/in his room, it's really reduced the smell).

    • Which filter do you use?

      • Currently stock, but got the formaldehyde one as well (much thicker than stock filter, not sure how much better it is)
