  • Good deal if you can predict almost a year in advance when you want to travel.

  • another thing to add is that it is notoriously hard to purchase tix online from the jetstar website. last time they had a big sale i wasted 2 hours trying to buy tix!

  • Yeah, agreed. The site will definitely go down (as it did on the last couple of sales) but I think once people realise how far into the future these ticket dates are, the site will come back, maybe around 10.

    Prove me wrong Jetstar.

  • May as well give it a shot, haven't had much luck in their past sales thou

At $7 a ticket (on credit card), even if you can't end up making the flight it's not a huge loss.

  • Hope I get some cheap tix!!

  • I think someone has forgotten to push a button, it's gone 8, and still says:
Jetstar's 24,000 Seats For Only $4 Sale will commence tonight, Tuesday 29 April 2008, at 8:00pm (AEST).
We hope to see you back here later!

    (nevermind working now @ 8:08)

  • Woo Hoo, 8:07PM and the site is down.

    • haha, that's a great start =P

  • Brisbane Cairns $4

    Brisbane Newcastle $4

    Brisbane Rockhampton $4

    Melbourne (Avalon) Adelaide $4

    Melbourne (Avalon) Sydney $4

    Melbourne (Tullamarine) Hobart $4

    Melbourne (Tullamarine) Launceston $4

    Melbourne (Tullamarine) Newcastle $4

    Sydney Gold Coast $4

  • Flights are in either direction

  • damn…. cant get through! has anyone yet?

    • just tried. as predicted… didnt work!

  • Usual deal - servers go down before the sale even starts. I don't even bother anymore. NEGATIVE!

    • Bit harsh with the vote - rate the deal not Jetstar's incompetency.

  • Had no luck and its been 20 minutes since the fares came up. Damn site always crashes!

  • I don't think it's gonna happen =[

  • Is anyone even getting to see the available flights on the selected days? I can't even get that far.

  • Sings "I HATE JETSTAR"

Yet again they show how pathetic and inadequate their internet booking system is - i'm giving up - not worth the time or effort

    • Again, bit harsh with the vote - rate the deal not Jetstar's incompetency.

  • You would think after all these sales, they'd get it right. I'd like to know in the first 40 mins how many ppl have actually booked.

    • We'll never know that, but I don't like the chances of 24,000 Flights being booked ;)

  • Last time people were able to call up their reservation line for a few dollars more and book the cheap flights. Worth a try.

  • Getting thru to reservations is another challenge in itself!!

  • anyone get anything?

This is like myer advertising 95% off and keepign all the doors locked.

  • I GOT THROUGH ON THE PHONE!!! THEY CHARGE $22 EACH WAY, (inc credit card fee, so its like 22, instead of 7)

Booked 5 flights Gold Coast + Sydney Return!!

  • Its all over now. I got thru to the flight selection, then it stuffed up again.
Congrats about gettin the flights over the phone… shame they don't honour the $4 internet promo.

  • It's extremly difficult trying to get on JetStar website, tried it for 1 and half hours still couldn't get in!!! Just had to give up!!!
Didn't know there was special for Phone Orders too. Thought it's only on sale for Internet :(

  • I reckon there are few people can really buy these cheap tickets.
Jetstar can actually offer $4 ticket on sale every night, 10pm or something like that
Not many serious travelers book ticket at that time and noone is able to buy any sale ticket (because server is crashed) :D

  • I do not know what is wrong with you lot! you complain, but yet you still persist in trying to get the advantage. PATIENCE MY PETS,PATIENCE.

    • Yeah. ALL you guys please be patient. Move your finger away from that F5 key and the refresh button for a minute… So I can get my request in :)

Patience doesn't work that well in Jetstar deals. Actually Nothing works well in Jetstar deals except maybe luck.

  • Can't get into site.

  • To all posting here…

What deal?? If people cant access it, then its NOT a deal.

    Its like Domino's and maybe there's a pun here….

Why we keep posting these deals and voting for them when

    1. They can't be accessed
    2. They have another a week later
    3. You can get on Jetstar's mailing list and find out the "deal" for yourself
    4. It just clutters up this site….

is beyond me, but thats just one opinion - Smile

maybe a listing on how to get onto these companies mailing lists would be more appropriate - ie Tiger, Virgin, Jetstar and then leave the airline promo's to the ones who do it occasionally like AirNZ, Qantas - I dont know exactly - but there has to be a better way especially as this site gets more popular.

    • Well it's worth a shot… The interstate sales I wasn't successful however the overseas (next day) sale seemed was less congested and I booked tickets. A lot of posts ie; borders, OO.com.au and I'm sure there's more come from a mailing list, it doesn't seem that cluttered yet.. but as more sites catch onto promoting their sales it may be an issue. Maybe then a filter can be made for you.

    • I wish I can implement a filter saying "Just show me the deals that I want". Maybe machine learning from the previous deals that you have voted and match up with new deals with tags — so only those that you might like will be shown?

      • Lol and maybe create a safeway petrol docket pool where people can upload safeway petrol dockets for people unsatisfied with the offer..

I know it's getting a bit complex but there will need to be a button 'I HATE THIS OFFER' which presents them with a petrol discount voucher.

  • Or maybe we can have another Tab - ongoing deals - that being deals that have not expired like these. Where we can list the "mailinglist' or the "tips" like how to get more toppings on your dominos Pizza.

Another example is Ausspecs where there is a 10% offer and a good deal, but is now "lost". Likewise moneybackco deals like sportingbet with $90 money back. These are all good deals which we can't repost as they are the same.

I guess my point with my "bitch" is that these weekly promo's that dont work for most are hiding the ongoing good deals that do.

I'll start a discussion in the forums

    • Yes I do realise that not all deals are time-limited, and some genuine offers actually last quite a long time but soon buried when the new entries pop up. I will find out how to resolve this.

  • +1

I'm having trouble going back in time.
