Great effort put in OP. Nicely done. =]

  • Which case is better??

    • RGB version but for a price. Its bigger than the other one and i remember from previous posts that RGB version has better build quality as others have said.

      • The rgb lighting is pretty awesome too, has about 10+ different lighting patterns / streams / streaks; real nice. And it is a nice and solidly built case. The side is glass and easily openable with hand or Phillips head screws (other side too), top has a black removable mesh on top of the metal meshed casing side, bottom has nicely padded feet stands.

Mind that, rather regrettably doesn't have an option to turn it off. Can be annoying if you needa update something.

*Watch as I'm stupid and you can update stuff while in sleep mode.

Damn chuck a HDD in the first one and you got a sweet Gaming PC on a budget.

  • single stick of memory may bottleneck the system to some extent but still a ripping price

  • Has anyone tried to take these apart and put into another case?

    Edit: Do these come unassembled?

    • Yes you can get them unassembled but need to talk with techfast and let them know you want it unassembled

  • +1

Its tempting to buy the computer with the 2080, stick in my Vega 56, sell it and end up with a reasonably priced 2080.

    • Biostar 2080 here we come

      • galax

  • Wow !
Been looking for a new RX570 for < $200 for awhile
I have all the Ryzen bits ready to build a new PC.

I could just buy this, take the card out for my good PC, and have another new PC that runs on integrated graphics for extra $280 !

  • If the i7 deal came earlier, would have gotten it instead of the i5-8400 one. Oh well.. Still happy with my config..

    • You can cancel the order by messaging them on eBay.

      Returns Policy:
If you require a cancellation of your item before the item has been dispatched, a full refund will be given.

      • Nah.. it's in the mail.. should arrive tomorrow according to Startrack. I wanna build it over the holidays anyway so its ok

  • Anyone found any good deals for GPU's? It feels like prices were jacked before Ebay20%

  • Dam that first PC is cheap

  • +3

Purchased the i7 deal and have requested it to come un-assembled. Once it arrives ill provide details of what I got for others.

Anyone know if they will be getting more of the Ryzen 2600 + RTX 2080 in stock?

    • +1

Any reason why you don't want the 2700 build? Is it the price difference? I got the 2600 build but in retrospect, given the better CPU and PSU in the 2700 build I think it's better value. Yes the 2700 build was like ~200 more expensive but you save on having to upgrade the PSU and you get a better performing CPU that will have noticeable improvement in gaming performance and may be better matched to the RTX 2080's future capabilities as drivers get better.

My impression was the 2600 is fit for purpose now but the 2700 may be better longer term.

  • Can someone more tech savvy than me tell me which one is the best "bang for buck" or "performance per dollar" for gaming?

    • -2

Purely in terms of bang for buck is definitely not any build with a 2000 series GPU, the 1060 is pretty good.

I think the more important question other than just bang for buck is what do you want out of your PC? What games do you play or are interested in? Do you want to max out settings on the latest games? Do you want to just have a smooth experience on a PC that will be relevant for 3-4 years?

A 1060 gets you perfectly fine performance and should be relevant for quite some time. You won't be running games at max settings but you'll be able to have fun and push many "competitive" games like CSGO/LoL/Dota/Rocket league up to high enough frames per second that it's not holding you back (maybe sacrificing some graphical settings for rocket league).

For reference I bought a 2080 build and for that price plus the upgrades I'll be sticking into it (~1700) you could buy the 1060 build advertised here, then buy the future equivalent 3 years to upgrade then buy another one again lol.

      • If it's raw bang for buck, you're looking at 8gb RAM, r5 2600 and RX 580/570.

But yeah, the use case and expectations need to be taken into account as well. You wouldn't use the above for a 4K gaming machine as an example, despite the fact it's (likely) the best bang for your buck.

      • I expected the “it depends” answer haha.
Ok so my budget covers every one of those. I’d want something that is relatively future proof, but not spending excessive amounts for little gain.

    • I'd say Ryzen 5 + rx580 or GTX1060

  • +1

This would perfectly suit the needs of anyone not looking for optimal performance on the included gpu/cpu. Perfect for the target niche.

  • Probably a tricky question to answer, but does anyone have some rough advice as to what the i7 deal above would be worth on the 2nd hand market if it had a decent 1070ti + an i5-8400 in it instead? I'm mulling over whether to buy it to upgrade my current rig and then on-sell a complete PC to recoup some of the costs.

  • Pretty good deal, but I'm guessing the power supply is a cheap piece of crap, I'd rather get my own. Are these guys reliable on delivery time?

    • Based on Linus's video and talk on here, it's average.

That is to say about 3 weeks (20ish days)

  • Just curious to know if anyone knows where I'd mount a 2.5" SSD and/or extras I'd need for that, stuff like extra cords. (not sure what actually comes with SSDs).

Was looking at m.2 drives but they're to expensive (or out of stock for 500gb) on eBay (no chance I'm paying $15 shipping…)

    • +1

There is one at the top close to the rear where you mount the fan and one at the bottom in front of the power supply. The holes seem to match but never actually tried to screw the SSD in.

  • Can anyone tell me if the last one is a really great deal or if I'm miss reading:

    $1,599.20 Intel i7 8700 RTX 2080 8GB 120GB SSD 16GB RAM 550W

According to finder.com.au the RTX 2080 8GB goes for minimum $1053
The CPU goes for around $400-500

So basically the cost of the entire system is the same as going out and buying the CPU and GPU separately?

    • +1

Nope, you are absolutely correct. I bought $1800 of eBay gift card at 10% so it comes down to $1439.28 for me. Must resist…

      • Do you know if there has been any cheaper deals for a similar product recently?
Also, it says the operating system not included, does that mean the PC wouldn't work when it arrives?

        • +1

Deals on high end desktop pc are pretty rare. When there is one, cheapest is probably from techfast and this is the cheapest so far since I was on ozbargain. This is also the first time techfast is doing 20% off, so you probably won't see at this price for a while.

OS is included but not activated. You can still use it no problem but with annoying watermark on the corner of the screen. You can buy cheap key at ebay for like $7.

  • The listings have finished for all these, not sure if they've been put up again?
