Cheers OP - missed out on the medium size compression sleeves before, but got one this time (not that I can see anywhere on my order details or email etc that it's medium, but am sure that's what I choose!).

OP, what is the difference between Knee Brace Patella Strap and Compression Sleeves, Do you know which one give better support for the Knee, i hiked a lot and need something to protect my Knee

Patella strap is pictured. It is a band that sits under the knee cap for support. My joints are quite loose, prone to ‘popping out’, and often ‘clunk’ just from walking. These straps (different brand, same concept) are helpful for me.

    • I am not really knowledgeable about knee braces but here is some info I found

      Patella Strap:

A Knee strap is a great solution if you suffer from knee pain due to runner’s knee or jumper’s knee (patellar tendonitis), Osgood-Schlatter disease, or patella tracking. It can fit under clothes and is easy to put on and take off. Wearing this type of strap helps prevent patella injuries and minimizes knee pain by putting compression on your patellar tendon.

      Compression Sleeves:

They provide knee compression, which helps control swelling and pain. Knee sleeves often work well for mild knee pain, and they help minimize arthritis. Sleeves are comfortable and can fit under clothing.

as the others said. The Patella strap not really for general support, it relieves pain from patella issues. I played basketball for 15 years, I had Chondromalacia and used to wear one. It does work, but does not resolve issues, just pain management.

  • Still no love for xl in sleeves??

  • Osgood-Schlatter disease and Severs (growing pains in the heel area). I have 2 basket balling sons and both have suffered from these issues. If you suffer from these i beg you please do yourself a huge favour and check out Finch Therapy https://www.finchtherapy.com.au/. Brisbane based pain therapy but there are a couple of practitioners in Sydney as well. I thought it was quackery at first but i went in for some neck and shoulder relief and the difference is huge.

Check out the web page it will cost you nothing and after thousands of dollars on other therapies that didn't work i can tell you your hips and hip pockets (nice pun) will be better for it.

PS not associated with Finch therapy in any way.

  • Thanks - just bought the "Sable Knee Brace Support Compression Sleeves"
