  • Please note that there have been multiple reports of users being asked and/or being offered incentives from the store in exchange for positive comments or removal/changing of their comments/complaints. See discussion here. Collier Bristow is now banned from OzBargain indefinitely.

In previous deals we had observed (and users had also reported to us) some members making complaints in comments about not receiving their goods, only for them to comment a few hours later that all their complaints had been resolved (despite nothing having changed in their order status); even then offering to personally assist other users or give out special email addresses or phone numbers. We had spoken to users and posters about this, all had denied receiving goods or similar.

However it's come to our attention, that this wasn't the case and multiple users had been offered goods/freebies in return for removing/changing their complaints or writing positive comments in reply to their initial complaints. Such artificial comments can persuade other OzBargainers to purchase from a deal post, which they may have otherwise avoided. It is therefore best to sticky these warnings to the existing deal posts and block any future deals posts from the store, with things as they stand.

A reminder, our sockpuppeting guidelines forbids anyone posting or commenting because they've been asked to or in return for incentives, without declaring affiliation.

If you have been offered goods and/or payment in return for removing comments or positive comments, please use the Talk With A Moderator forum to let us know. The information will remain private.

  • ~$310 AUD, conversion in title please?
Also, anyone know the shipping rates?

    • Just checked, shipping is apparently free for xmas.

      • Awesome, thanks! I saw the title got updated as I clicked post comment, damn haha.

Buyer beware - seen a few commentors that haven't received their purchases.

    • +3

Yep, put my order in the November sale. They were quick to take the order (size wasn't available on site), however have not followed-up with any status update despite multiple requests.

Anyone buying should consider that it does offer a great deal, if in stock appears most people receive rather quickly, but any custom orders are a pain in the rear end.

They used a PayPal purchase for my order, so at least I can get addressed relatively easily which I will be doing if I don't receive clear update and confirmed time to deliver before Christmas.

    • +4

Being one of those commentors, I have not received anything and I have not heard back from Freddie. If you want to have $330 disappear and wait 2 months to get it back after a PayPal dispute, order from this store.

  • +2

Since the previous deal is only one week old, wouldn't that be reactivated instead of creating a new deal with the same discount amount and code?

    • As the previous title was not specific to a Brand, it is not considered a Duplicate.

Sad times when you can buy an Australian product cheaper in the UK.

    • +2

Also odd that back orders will be shipped to the UK and then shipped back here. What is the world coming to?

    • Proof that Australian companies overcharge the locals. It's the same story with that Aussie company that makes bags (forgot what it's called). A tiny backpack or a messenger bag costs an arm and a leg. I'll buy my stuff from wherever it's cheaper.

      • Crumpler?

        • Yup. That's the one. I don't see what the fuss is all about with those bags. They look weird, and they're always pricey, unless you see them on sale.

          • @AussieDaddy: I have one that I bought 9 years ago and have used almost every day, including international trips and camping trips. It's starting to wear a bit now but still looks good enough to be my main daily laptop/office bag. They are built to last and worth the expense.

            • @moph: I had a Swiss backpack that's a lot bigger, had a better protection for a laptop, and a looked a lot better than Crumpler backpacks for a decade, and it costed cheaper than a Crumpler backpack of a smaller size.

          • @AussieDaddy: Yeah, I agree with AussieDaddy and don't understand the hype with Crumpler bags. They look really ugly and are way overpriced.

I have an STM-branded backpack from my high school days that I am now using for my daily cycling commute to work (now with a waterproof reflective Kathmandu cover) and it is still looking brand new after 18 years.

What about koala and kangaroo plushies made in China, shipped to Australia and resold in gift shops back to Chinese tourists for 1000% markup?

    • -1

Yeah, only RM Williams no longer make their boots in Australia…

  • i ordered two pairs and they arrived very quickly. I ordered two other pairs a dark tan and adelaide for the wife as well as a few linen shirts which is getting shipped today.

    • How'd you get dark tan boots? I've been looking for them and the website seems to only have chestnut/black etc.

      • +1

Email Freddie directly on [email protected] he should be able to sort you out or give you more info.

        • +1

Hmm, are you associated with Collier Bristow? I must admit, your relatively new profile and your comment history look a little suspicious…

          • @brotherfranciz: No, I am most certainly not. Just trying to help others, using the avenues I used to get to the company in regards to my order. I am just lurker patiently waiting for my order :)

  • I was a poster who had issues in the other threads.

I’ve put in a total of three orders through this site in the past. Two orders went well and I received the item in a week. Flawless.

One order I received a damaged item… its taken nearly two months to fix the issue (seller was swamped with orders and bit off more then he could chew) but finally as of this week! I’ve received tracking for a replacement pair of boots and was gifted a few more items as a sorry to make the situation right. Those items are set to arrive either the 21st or 23rd through DHL.

The seller obviously is trying to do right ..so the seller is imo good to go. If there’s an issue he may take a while to fix it but you’ll be sorted all the same at the end + then some.

Though doubtfully the delay and issues that’s happend to me and few other won’t happen again as the sellers learned his lesson..and spent a few bucks making amends with all the disgruntled posters/ozbargain revive/save his business name and repuation!

    👍

  • Ive been eyeing these for a long time and the website says they have my size in stock. Just wondering if anybody that has ordered from them in the past has ordered a pair that appeared in stock only to be told it wasnt? I need the boots by february so a back order is no use for me. Cheers

Also, it doesn't offer a choice of width size? From what I understand they comes in e, f, g, h and x sizes. How do I know which ill be getting?

    • All their shoes are width G, which is regular and fits most. If you're actually going to buy a pair I recommend getting sized in a store first, don't go off size charts etc. Chelseas need to fit perfectly.

    • I've been personally told that the only stuff they're listing on their sites are in stock in their warehouse

  • +3

Still no reply to multiple emails asking for an update. Very poor form.

  • Just spoke with Freddie on the phone. He says they're very busy atm hence the slow replies but has assured he's following up on my previous orders. Glad to have gotten in contact.

    • +2

He called me and said the same. Even promised free stuff if I removed my negative comment. Since then, absolutely no communication and he is avoiding my calls.

      • That doesn't sound good… has me a bit worried. How long ago was your call with them?

        • First call was 19th November.

The most recent call was the 27th of Nov, and he promised everything would be shipped "either the next day or the week after".

          Since then, nothing.

I originally wrote a comment of bad feedback, saying:

"I haven't received anything from the very first sale (15th October). I've called their business in the UK, and they keep promising to send it. I opened a PayPal case and after offering a few responses promising to ship it on the next business day, they eventually just stopped replying. PayPal case got escalated, but I'm gonna give this vendor a neg.
From what some people are posting, they've got their boots, but I didn't even get an order confirmation emailed to me when I paid with PayPal.
A couple of days into the PayPal dispute and they haven't even responded."

Since then, he sent me one message, pretty much begging me to delete my comment, offering me goods in exchange. I said I won't be deleting my comment but will add a comment to say that he's promised to increase communication.

Since then, I've only faced further issues and he has not communicated with me at all. He will no longer pick up my phone calls or respond to my emails.

    • smileymiwo try contacting him on the phone

        It's 3am in London isn't it?

        • LOL

      • I've been trying to call him for the last 2 weeks, even when I call 10am, 11am in the UK, nothing.

        • Literally just spoke to him, call him on the number I posted below.

          • +1

@tightm8: He also just called me on the same number. I sent you a message smiley.

    • Update 1: I have been in contact with Freddie over the phone and again have been promised a tracking number by tomorrow afternoon.

  • Ok I just purchased (despite negative comments above), still have not received an email confirmation, rookie error, I did not write down order number… and now cannot see anything… scared

    • I got a call directly from Freddie saying my order confirmation will be sent, top quality service, he mentioned to reach out to him on +44 7414 815 201 for urgent queries, he will endeavour to get back to emails but being flogged. Don't be shy, speak to him!

    • +1

Don't be scared, you won't turn up empty handed

Ordered mine on the 14th, received an email on the 19th saying it had shipped. To my surprise it's with DHL world express so it should get here Friday. I think the people having problems with their orders are in a vocal minority considering the sheer amount of orders they received, although they have admitted to struggling to get everything sent out.

The owners have made a better effort of communicating with people having issues though, so I wouldn't hesitate buying from them considering we haven't seen $300 rms in a long time.

    • +1

Yep agreed on all points. The only issue I've taken with some comments is that they have improved communications, quite obviously this is not the case.

As noted if buying an off the shelf product then majority of buyers are fine. Anything custom (i.e.any special order) seems to be where the issues lie.

I would have been happy to know that things will take longer than originally communicated, basic customer service 101.

I was also a poster in other threads. I ordered a pair of 12H Comfort Craftsmen MTO (Made to Order) Boots on 21st November and I had awesome communication with Freddie and Collier Bristow early on then it faded, this was obviously due to the masses of orders coming in.

Since then Freddie has emailed and called me a number of times direct from the UK to ensure I am updated with my order and to ensure I am a HAPPY customer. His goal is to clearly make his customers happy.

Although my boots have not arrived yet, I have been given a solid ETA based on the MTO boots and look forward to their arrival. Please ensure you understand that all boots that are in stock on their website will be sent ASAP, generally within 24 hours and MTO boots are a wait time of 6-8 weeks (RM Williams standard manufacturing timeframe on special orders- this is out of Collier-Bristow's control).

Have a great day and enjoy your shopping. I am actually thinking of ordering the Comfort Craftsmen Chocolate Suede next!

I wouldn't hesitate in making a purchase (Cheapest RM's in the world), I have seen a number of fellow members receive their boots and are very happy with their purchase.

    • What timeframe did he give?

      • Approx. 22nd January because it is a made to order boot. Immediate delivery if in stock.

  • Again this is by far the cheapest I've ever seen these boots, and there's some other good stuff on their website from the last deal. Given 99% of customers have gotten their orders without any issue I wouldn't let the small percentage of waiting customers stop anyone from purchasing at a price like this. My previous order is turning up tomorrow, I'm actually super excited

  • +2

Better off leaving in money in bank for one month, gaining 77 cents.

  • +2

beware your hard earned cash. dodgy company.

  • +3

Still no update from purchase on 22/11 despite multiple contacts and promises from seller to confirm status. Have lodged PayPal dispute to arrange refund.

  • -1

I have heard that a few people have received their boots in the last couple of weeks. Anyone else receive there boots? Would love to see some pictures to excite me for the arrival of mine.

  • Ordered in November from this mob and after no replies to previous correspondence am now being told February for delivery. Have been reassured they have new stock if I want to place additional orders.

    Avoid.

    • -1

I also ordered in November mate, (I did order MTO boots- at the time of purchase i didn't realise there was a wait period but now I do- it's a RM Williams standard thing) so I am happy to wait it out- if you ordered a standard size I am sure you will get them soon. I have heard a number of other members have received their boots recently. The warehouse did close for approx 2 weeks. I got an email yesterday saying that all warehouse orders have now been processed, so yeah the closure really did set them back a bit but they appear to have caught up with the bulk amount of orders that have been coming through. Once again up to you mate, Freddie is a good guy he will look after you either way.

  • -1

I have just received an email from Freddie (Owner Collier Bristow) saying that all outstanding orders will receive tracking/shipping details anytime between now and the 2nd February (this is only worst case scenario for all made to order/ re stocked boots) a number of orders will start receiving their tracking/shipping info from today 4pm (UK time). Stock on the website is all completely up to date now.

  • +1

Still haven't received any confirmation from the order that I placed in November, last email was before christmas. Not sure if I should wait more or just cancel the order.

    • -3

I would wait, I just got confirmation and shipping details to follow soon. But it is up to you. I also placed my order in November.

  • -1

    Hey OzBargainer's,

Just to give both old and new members and update, I was obviously one of the unhappy customers of Collier Bristow before Christmas.

However, I have since received my boots (Yesterday) and am more then satisfied and will definitely not hesitate in buying from them again. Fair play to them for fulfilling orders and sorting out their problems.

I look forward to taking advantage of their great priced RM boots and the other brands they stock in the future.

    Have a good one :)

  • +2

    Hey OzBargainers,

Just an update, placed my order on 23rd November. waited 2 months no response. 3 months later had to raise a dispute with Paypal and the most shady thing was CollBis didn't respond to Paypal as well.

Paypal has closed the case in my favour, any of you still has any hope for your orders please contact paypal and save your money :)

    Thanks
