YMMV. I went on Royal Brunei to Borneo and loved it, couldnt fault it at all and would rather have been on that then the air france flight we had from singapore to europe.
It was 7 years or so ago now so maybe the airline has gone down hill….
Used Royal Brunie before and was happy enough. The airport is not great, but you can get a transit visa to foray into the city. For the price, I wouldn't mind doing it again.
The food was good on my recent trip, and the service was pleasant. The airport isn't very exciting, but it was at least air conditioned and our stopover wasn't too long.
We flew them in September and could not fault them (although a whisky on board would have been nice!). we travelled with an infant and a toddler and it was probably the best experience we've ever had travelling with kids (20+ flights with kids). They went above and beyond to help and the planes were pretty comfy.
However, i do agree with Merlict-the stopover was a nightmare. There was absolutely nothing to do.
But, for $900, i would do it again!
RAB has pros and cons. I like the space on the 787s, obviously the price point is pretty good and they have gotten rid of the stop over in Dubai.
And you can drink alcohol on board however you have to bring it with you from duty free and you have to dispose of it before you exit the plane in Brunei. Brunei citizens cannot consume alcohol on the flight, but everyone else is fine.
I took scotch and they were happy to bring me mixers.
The airport is horrific.
Agree the Airport in Brunei is average,but the new timetable has the layover at 90 mins both ways. So i will put up with that for the price of the flight. Going in March paid $905
Not too impressed with Royal Brunei. Terrible food and the stopover airport is a hole.
Cheap though.
