  • What chipset is this based on? It says "Windows Vista supported" but does it work with Linux?

  • again I like how the reps are disclosing this to us. thats always worth a positive vote

    • Not to mention that it seems to be a good deal. I am searching for PCI 802.11 on staticICE and $18.95 delivered is pretty good.

      • And not to mention that OPEN Networks are quite reliable too, in terms of customer service and product quality. :)

  • Read the brochure and does not include the WPA/WPA2 security tho it allows 802.11g wireless network, maybe its not a certified WIFI for WPA,WPA2?

    • It would be very hard to believe that a chipset that supports 802.11g that DOES NOT support WPA. But you may be right as all the other 802.11g products on Open Networks product pages stated WPA except this one. Hmmm…

    • The user guide (http://www.opennw.com/_pdf/OPEN304W_UserGuide.pdf) lists WPA and WPA2.

The chipset used (a TNET1130) also appears to be the same as the old Linksys WPC54G v2 cardbus card I have that supports WPA without a problem (pity Linksys drivers suck and I have to use drivers like what OPEN Networks distribute).

  • Can assure you WPA supported. Happy to refund if you find otherwise. I believe the OPEN docos haven't been updated in a long time for this model.

    Cheers.

  • Nice offer.

Agree nice to see merchants disclosing they are merchants and actually offering good buys, unlike some other merchants who will remain nameless…..

  • Nice deal and EXCELLENT shipping costs - I am interested in 3 and shipping only comes to $8.91, less than many places charge for 1 card that costs 4 times as much to begin with. I have just 1 question:

Will it work with Vista x64 ? Many don't apparently.

    • Hi,

      We/Manufacturer don't support Vista 64 Sorry.

You might find something, Chipset listed in a comment above.

  • lol i just ordered the usb wifi, pcmcia, and this pci card. I hope this card works on vista like it says else i'm gonna chuck a fit lol. Overnight express was 12 bucks for 3 items ^^

  • Damn.. if only it supported Vista 64 bit :(

I was going to order three of these cards but now I'll have to change my plans.

    • Yes. Good price but we need X64 support.

      • Woah, way to go mate for reviving an OLD post.
