  • For those looking to buy this tv. It is listed again as available from Videopro eBay page. Just bought one. Saved an extra $100 from the ebay giftcard i got from ebay uk when they had a 10% off sale.

  • Great tv and great price

  • I think that is cheaper than the HN Whirlpool receipt deal that was going around a couple of weeks ago (except on that deal you didn't pay shipping). Nice.

  • Another one to look at. Have a few brands in the queue.

    • The only thing that holds me back from this TV is the lack of Dolby Vision. Everything else about it is pretty great.

      • I wouldn't worry to much not much seems to be supporting Dolby vision and this tv does hdr10+ which will do dynamic metadata in future titles

Tempted to drive out to Harvey Norman tomorrow and attempt a price match with 2x AMEX cards.

    • +1

I don't think anyone price matches voucher code deals.

      • Yeah but a man can dream.

          Not according to my wife

Matched one of the whirlpool receipts for $1722. Managed to get another 2 amex cards from a mate as well, so $1522!

    • I reckon you'd get close to this price.

  • Yes it’s sad there is no Dolby Vision.

    • +4

no TVs are 12bit and HDR10+ will match dolby vision for most cases

      • +1

Doesn't HDR 10 require 10,000 nits as well or something?

(No TV is close to 10K nits AFAIK).

This company really must have had bad experiences since we at WA are excluded.

  • Stupid question probably but how do i choose free QLD pickup?

    • I am also interested to know this. I had a look but couldn't see any pickup option (even at checkout). Delivery only perhaps?

Update: I messaged them on eBay to ask and this is the response I got -

Sorry we are not doing local collection at the moment and eBay will not allow us to hold orders.

        Kind regards,

        Leith

So it would seem paying for delivery is the only option.

  • Whoa I paid too much…

  • Bugger. Just pulled the trigger on the LG when I saw this was sold out…

    • What's the point of this kind of post?

That's that thing. I thought about this also. however at the end of the day i am saving a fair bit more getting the panasonic and the PQ on the panasonic has won quite a few awards by many reviewers.

if i wanted an android tv interface on my tv i have a vodafone tv for that.

though i would have liked for panasonic to have dolby vision also i guess I can't have everything.

as for dolby vision vs hdr10+. some reviewers are undecided which one will win over the other. or we could end up with both. my reasoning for going with panasonic i guess was that there was more backers for hdr10+ than dolby vision but what would i know picking a horse in this race.

but hey if your top priority for picking an oled tv is it must have dolby vision. sure pick the sony or lg.

my priority was to get a 55" oled tv with as much features for as cheap as i can and still not sacrifice on PQ.

    Good guys matched price $1760

    • Which store did you go? And is $1760 include delivery?

      • +1

Erina good guys. I picked it up, basically said id rather give the local the coin for same delivered amount. He sounded a little too happy so there must be room for movement. Jbhifi didnt want to play ball. (Benefit is if something goes wrong I have a local shop to work with)

Tv looks great. Still figuring out how to connect shared folder from computer in network to tv im sure ill figure it out shortly. It casts easy from pc to tv.

The lg version with the remote pointer would of been good but everyone was raving about this one so jumped on band wagon.

  • Pulled the trigger on this one but the delivery is dated between the 22nd - 24th of January.

    That's a long time :(

Maybe I should have gone with the LG B8 55"

    • Worried this tv could get cheaper? Or just impatient?

      • Haha both. One month is a long time and the price would probably drop even lower.

        • I ended up paying $1671 delivered for mine after all discounts. So if one could get this tv for $1500 by end of jan. Then hats off to them.

          • @xoom: Care to share how you got it for $1671? That's a nice savings of $100 from this deal delivered.

            • @jenovax1: When ebay uk had 10% off i bought 1k worth of ebay gift cards. Thats $100 off $1k.

  • $1522 from Harvey Norman with 4x AMEX cards. Took a bit of effort, but I’m happy.
