For reference, the 1000 V-Bucks are worth $15.

If you’re already going to buy said currency, $5 for the rest of the DLC is a bargain.

  • For the 3DS charger, you can buy a 3DS to USB cable from Daiso for $2.80.

It saves space and can plug into any existing phone charger. Downside is that the charging times/outputs may be less than ideal.

    • +1

Agreed, the USB Cables are more handy and easier for travels.

But for $5, I would pick up an Official 3DS AC Adapter as backup.

  • 3DS charger is good at $5. Works for DSi, 2DS, 3DS and New 3DS (and XL variants)

  • The 3DS charger is great and the cable is super long on the official product. Makes charging while you play easy.

  • Can you buy it digitally to get it before Christmas?

    • +1

I believe you still receive a physical case, just without cartridge/disc.

So the item will still be delivered after Christmas.

      • So the code for the DLC comes with the case? Or can you get the code beforehand digitally from this deal?

Sorry for the dumb questions 😀

        • +1

Based on this YouTube Video, you'll receive a physical game case, with a scratch code inside.

  • Wish nintendo would just have used micro usb or usb-c. All these proprietary connectors just create ewaste.

    • +1

      The Nintendo Switch uses USB-C.

What? the Fortnite deal is waste as Fortnite uses a plastic case and paper cover for a CODE

      • +2

All these proprietary connectors just create ewaste.

I completely agree. Unlike paper, which is recyclable and most people recycle everyone has a few weird connectors around the house they don't know what is from. Those aren't recycled. They go straight in the bin and into landfill.

Also @ultracheapasianguy, is Fortnite the only thing that uses a physical copy of the code (ie on paper)? I think not.

        • @pennypincher98 fortnite uses a plastic case for a code that doesn't even require a case. do you see Xbox gold cards or PlayStation gift cards or even PlayStation dlc cards (other than fortnite) sold with plastic cases and a paper cover like how a physical game is sold?

          • @ultracheapweeabookun: There's quite a few things that I've seen in plastic cases - a popular one is FUT tokens. Sure it's bad, but the amount of plastic that is wasted there isn't that much considering how much everyone else wastes. Also, most plastics are recyclable.

Getting back to the problem however - how many times has something had a proprietary connector when it doesn't need to? It's ridiculous and creates massive waste.
