    EOY not EOFY

  • What would be a good option for NBN FTTP? Just needs 2x Ethernet plus Wi-Fi in a unit. Also needs to move to Singapore next year for what I assume is also FTTP

    • +1

Look for Gigabit Ethernet, wireless AC with 5Ghz capability and 600Mbps+ wifi speed. Should be less than $150.

    • +1

Yes, this router has a dedicated ethernet port designed for wireless router mode. FTTP runs off this.

  • Plus shipping??

    • Many items are listed as free shipping you can see in image itself.

      • Powerline kit doesn't appear to have free shipping.

        • Yeah.. Just counted total 14 items are having Free shipping.
Anyhow, Powerline deal is still very good with shipping.

Good to see nvidia shield keep dropping

  • So is it better to buy 2 x Portal Mesh or use 1 x TP-Link power line adapter?

    • I would prefer powerline if latency is your main concern, use mesh wireless if bandwidth is your main concern.

      • Powerline it is! 9ms is too good to give up!

  • Thanks. I bought the nvidia shield with controller, cheapest ever

    • +2

If you had any of those 10% eBay GCs from the recent UK deals and eBay Plus the other post is cheaper (it'd be $204 if you used a $200 GC or $202 if you don't mind leaving credit on your account for later).

This is a good deal though without all the hassle but FYI for tryhard professionals :)

What are people buying nvidia shields for? havent looked into them much but people seem to snatch them up every time they're on sale

    • +1

      It’s for:

      • media player
      • media streamer
      • game casting from your PC to TV or another monitor
      • games emulator (SNES, N64, Dreamcast, etc)

It supports HDR, 4K as well. Very capable Android tv for the price.

      • That does seem pretty useful. I have separate devices for each one of those purposes but it would be much better having one device for all applications

Most important for me: Plex Server

        • main reason i want to buy one. what do you use for storage? NAS, portable harddrive?

        • Is it free?

      • can you play games off it directly? i mean i have a nas as plex server
        and a 1080ti for gamestreaming

but are there any decent android games

    • Its the best Android alternative to an Apple TV.

      • +1

I'm an Apple fanboy but its much more than an Apple TV

        • You are right, but I was aiming for a simple explanation.

To be totally accurate it's not a 'cashback' but a Woolworths $40 gift card by redemption.

    • These any good?

      • OK Mine arrived today. Easy to install and get up and running. Throughput speed to an outlet 30 metres from the modem is disappointing - not much better than my old netgear powerline.

And the units are very large to the point where they encroach into the second outlet on a side by side plug (7cm wide x 14cm long)
and extend about 5cm out of the plug.

  • Any point getting the controller if I have PS4 controllers lying around? Prefer to not spend the extra 40 bucks for the sake of it.

    • It's a nice controller apparently, but you can use the PS4

      • Thanks. Was looking at getting 2 so the extra savings add up.

      • Can you use the controller for as a steam controller?

  • +1

    Bugger no Arlo 2.

  • Last year GG did RBK50 for under $300!
How long this code working for?

  • Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but tried to grab the msi GT63 titan but after adding the code it comes to $2974.15 + shipping. Know how I can get it for $2719.15?

    • Not thunderbolt 3 so stay away!
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3P0JvBQvnx0

    • +1

Its coming as $2719.15 after appyling code.
      Could be some issue before

      • Yep, it has changed now. Previously it was still marked at $3499 but its down to $3199 (pre-code). Thanks!

Also, realistically is it that big of a deal not having thunderbolt 3 or will DP be sufficient? I wonder if it's likely that laptops will commonly have TB3 soon because I can wait, but at this price I can't imagine finding anything with comparable specs. Hmmm decisions decisions..

  • Recently purchased an item with them and they use Toll for delivery. Toll has been absolutely horrible. Be aware that to be at home to pick up the delivery. Toll is really bad with communication for Depot pickup

  • Wonder if it includes their huawei w1 watch. Would bring it down to about $2100

Thanks OP, bought the powerline adaptor.

  • don't forget 3% shopback cash back

  • How good would the AV3000 be for PS4 remote play ?

    • I used remote play over an AV600 setup which is more than sufficient for remote play. There is still a minor input lag due to the transcoding of the video albeit quite a stable good quality stream over powerline. I think its great for single player games but if you are into competitive FPS or fighters like SFV, avoid using this.

    Awesome OP!

Got the Powerline Adapter. Anyone knows if this can be used to extend wifi too?

    • +1

      Pretty sure you can’t…

I’m thinking of getting one but I don’t know people’s experiences with it.

      • I have two sets of these. Bought my first pair beginning of the year and second later in Octoberish off Gumtree. Greatest thing ever!
Main reason for getting the powerline was because we stream from our Plex server in the study to the lounge or bedroom. Quality range from 720P to 3D and 4K with Atmos so looking at pretty decent datarates and they all work flawlessly even when streaming at the same time (when the server can keep up)

My setup is a two story apartment and use these to extend from my DSL modem to the lounge and my bedroom at the same time (three in use, one spare). In the lounge I have the Powerline connected to a gigabit switch with things like my TV, my consoles (Xbox, PS etc)and a wireless access point (can connect to my modem, something company I work for sells) all connected and I play online games fine and wireless is awesome upstairs.
In the bedroom I have TV and PS4 connect and that works a treat too because this model has 2 ports (awesome!).

Only thing that's annoying is if I turn on encryption, I seem to need to reset the devices every 2 weeks or less (encryption is established between pairs you choose, for example, I have a and b, a and c, thus only need to reset between particular pairs not all three). Without encryption I haven't had an issue yet (4 weeks now)

Forgot to say, this price is a steal. I'd buy another set if I didn't still have the 4th unit spare. 6 may be a bit excessive…

    • this kit does not have wifi. But you can plug in an old wireless router to be used as a wifi extender. Alternatively, you can buy this now and add on another powerline in future like the TL-WPA4220 (AV600) to extend your wifi. But do note that the whole network will run at the speed of the slowest device, i.e. AV600. Ideally, you will want to pair up adaptors of the same speed to get the best value.
