$0 Payment Solar Panels for ACT Residents - See Site for All Information! - eSOLD

40

Hi - its been a while friends! Good to be back.

In the last month eSOLD has been working very hard to source and find some great bargains, I think for A.C.T. residents anyway this is a pretty good thing. You can register your interest for other states too, so should the offer come to other states (which is what we're hoping!) you can be first in!

So heres the "deal": Residents of A.C.T. have a great opportunity to join a clean green community, we've teamed up with Empower Solar and are basically bringing and installing solar panels for no charge, and the home owner even gets $500 a year due to the power going back to the grid.

There are some basic qualifying steps which are all covered on our website - but the important thing is THERE ARE NO HIDDEN FEES OR CHARGES - THIS IS ZERO COST!

I recommend any interested A.C.T. residents to hit up our website and click through, or hit our solar panel offer direct @ https://www.esold.com.au/empower/

Thanks all, we'll be back on the weekend with some more traditional bargains :)

    Wish it was VIC :/

  • It is mentioned you can buy the system after 5 years. But I can't find the buy price on the empower web site. This would be an important factor in the decision process. eg. I could get a loan and finance the install myself.

    • G'day thepigs! I've asked Empower for more info - as I know it they will assess the panels at that time taking into account depreciation and fair market value for 2nd hand / 5 year old panels. There is no obligation to buy.

Sure in an ideal world you would get top of the range $30k panels, $2000 year payments and get to keep the panels for free :) But it is what it is - imho a good deal with nothing to pay for interested parties… we jumped through a lot of hoops (fiery legal ones!) to get this deal nailed down, had quite a few ACT residents take it up already - its pretty good for nothing!

I won't be able to check here until tonight again - so any Q's etc please contact my capable staffs via the website, as I'm in meetings all afternoon from here. Best regards

      • Don't get me wrong, i commend the entreprenerial effort (and I am interested). But this is ozbargain after all.

  • How can it be a "good deal for nothing" ????

What people don't seem to understand is that they are installing THEIR solar panels on YOUR roof.

You don't benefit from the solar at all… they are simply renting your roof space. Less than $10 per week.

You'd also want to be pretty clear on what happened to the RECs (energy certificates). Almost certainly you are signing all 15 years of them away to the vendor, who is then claiming all 15 years worth of them up front.

This might just be preying on people who are ignorant about the domestic Solar Energy market. Like those people who gave away $1 fluorescent light globes for free, and then claimed the $15 or $20 worth of Savings Certificates from them.

    • at the end of the day if you have a rental property who cares, an extra $500 a year, man thats my land tax bill :D

Yeah, but if you ever want to install your OWN solar panels, you cannot claim the 15 years of RECs (certificates) which works out about $4000 up front for a 1.5kW system.

If you are into "investment" then simply borrow from the bank and install the panels yourself. You get the RECs and all the value from energy generated. The nett return would be about $7000 over 5 years for an $8,500 investment. Effectively that's what… about 15% per annum. And that is around THREE TIMES better investment than you are making on the property itself.

        • Well when you can afford to put your own in surely you can tell these guys to go you can then claim the REC's yea?

        • NO - once the RECs are gone (sold) you can't sell them again. The RECs are sort of like a "future savings" rebate… in other words, you are generally selling 15 years worth of RECs up-front to subsidise the initial install.

      • what about:
if empower goes broke (heaven forbid) someone will want to liquidate the panels on your roof.
if your tenant / handyman negligently damages the panels on your roof who pays?
just check the contract carefully I guess.

  • I think this is a great idea that every ACT resident should look at (I'm from WA so cannot participate =(. The systems are high quality using Norwegian REC panels and essentially they will be paying you $500/year to use your roof space. Unless you are actually using your north roof space for some other purpose, or it is your primary house facade, everyone is a winner from this deal.

In addition, a solar system adds value to your home - and the panels are insured seperately so there is no costs to you, insurance or otherwise.

Despite being in WA I am on the solar train and getting a 1.5KW system installed on Friday that is costing me $1650 in total after rebates. Should pay for itself in roughly 3 years, and instantly adds value to the house.

To Empower - please come to WA, as you can definitely count me as an applicant.

    • I think if your in a position to want solar and can't afford it then this is just another option :)

  • replying to llama post.
for some reason when i click on reply the comment box doesn't appear.

with most installer you'll still end up paying anywhere form $1500 to $3000 for a 1.5k system depending on qulity, on top of signing away RECs.

Caliente, you're expecting to make ~$500/year from your solar system?

  • SO lets get things clear…We are only renting way the roof space for $500 every year upto 15 years. Is that $500 X 15 = $4500. Good deal!

BUT: if only $500 for the whole 15 years and you don't get to use the power generated from the panels either, rip off!

    • Once again, not a rip off if it's a rental ;)

      • rip off/rental call it what you want..oh wait was that a wink..
        ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

        • nooo i mean that if i put it on my rental property, tenants pay the power bill anyway I might as well get $500 a month for it on top of it :P

        • but you will be stuck with it for 15 years!
