New Years resolution should be to actually complete one of these courses.

New years resolution should be stop wasting time clicking to get free crap you'll never use.

I stopped with all courses (this is the first one in ages that is relevant to me. But googling is faster when it comes to excel) and nearly all books/audiobooks. I still find myself obtaining free games and music though (except the really junk indie games and chiptunes).

    • +1 on the New Years Resolution - Have 17 courses and haven't started any of them xd

    • I thought that's what we were meant to do bank all these courses up until we retire haha

If you know how to do vlookups and pivot tables you're set.

    • Index/match is the litmus test for being reasonable at Excel.

    • I'm really surprised that there are people who struggle with this. Even heard it's somewhat of a sought after skill amongst employers.

I'd never really used excel much before but we got taught both those concepts at uni within 2 weeks of class (maybe 4 hours total at most).

Maybe their real life applications are complex but honestly just some googling and a bit of playing around is sufficient to learn them even on your own.

      • Think of it like someone who knows 5+5=10 and that's it.
        Lots of people know/learn that

compared to someone who knows why 5+5=10… who can tell you also 4+6=10 etc

    • It's a new years resolution of mine, can you recommend any courses/guides/videos?

I've actually found Excel very useful when doing tables for Ozbargain. Use the concatenate formula to put strings together and then paste here.
