  • Sorry. Epic fail on first post. Have put a pic now.

    • Opps sorry, thanks for sharing, didn't recognise it was first post…

  • 4 AA Batteries in 4 hours
4 AAA Batteries in 5 hours

strange it takes an extra hour to charge AAA's that are3 1/2 the capacity of AA's

    Still not a patch on my Varta….2 x AA's (2400mAh) in under 30mins

  • Pak says 45 mins charging and 4 hours use.

Dumb charger and batteries which will self discharge in no time.

Not a deal when you know of far better alternatives

  • Not LSD batteries. Does this charge single batteries or they need to be charge in pairs?

4 hours for the low capacity 1300mAH AA rechargeable batteries. Higher capacity Eneloop 2000mAH, Eneloop Pro 2500mAH, Ikea LADDA 2450mAH will take much longer to charge. Batteries usually get fairly warm when using a high speed/quick changer.

It does appear to be a smart charger, but not a good one. Full detailed review is here: https://lygte-info.dk/review/Review%20Charger%20Duracell%204…

    Manufacturer spec page here: https://www.duracell.co.uk/product/duracell-hi-speed-value-c…

The "45 minutes" on the packaging is for a partial charge, not a full charge. A full charge of their undersized (1300mAh) AA batteries takes 4+ hours, eneloops will take more than 6 hours.

Batteries MUST be charged in pairs. This is a bad practice, it endangers your batteries.

Lots of problems listed in the review linked above. Here is a summary:
"the charger can only charge two or four batteries at a time."
"The two batteries are filled up and a bit more, the charger is on the slow side to detect when the batteries are full."
"The charger reported error with these cells and did not charge them fully" for AA eneloop pro batteries.
"With AAA cells the current is reduced and the charger reported error during my test run and terminated before the batteries was full" for eneloop AAA batteries.
"The charger is not fast at detecting full cells, it used about 25 minutes" when attempting to charge fully-charged batteries.
"The charge speed on the package is nearly a lie, the 4 hours is only valid for some special low capacity batteries, for more normal batteries it needs 6 to 8 hours."
