I have this bag. Was looking at Crumpler etc but couldn’t justify the cost.

I think it has a really good layout. Quality seems good as well.

Not sure how much of a deal it is though. Luggage Direct has it for $119 which is how much I paid a few months ago.

  • Pretty much same price as https://theluggageprofessionals.com.au/samsonite-viz-air-lap….

I have the non-plus version, https://theluggageprofessionals.com.au/samsonite-viz-air-lap… and the zipper broke 2 years into the 3 year warranty period. Luggage Professionals handled the replacement and said I could keep the faulty bag too (now, anyone know how to fix a zipper?).

Leading on from that, the did offer me the plus variant but looking at the specs it's 400g heavier. So the non-plus variant for a few dollars less might be an option if you're looking for lightness.

I remember paying around the $100 mark 4 years ago for the non-plus version so I think low $100s should be their going prices anyway

    • I bought the non-plus version 2 years ago for $69.

      It was this deal… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/278534

      Sadly, it's expired now!

      • Oh cool, thanks! I'll check those out and see if it's suitable - cant remember what it was, but just remember it being a zipper issue

    • Do you know whats the difference between the plus and non-plus?

      • Only from what is obvious from the specs - colour, weight, and the luggage bag handle thing someone else mentioned. Theres not much info around them I could find, so I just kept the lighter one

  • I have the VizAir Plus. Still going strong 4.5 years later. I paid $150 and don't regret it.

I also have this, quick points of note:

    Positives:
    - Fantastic quality, stitching, zips, everything is made beautifully
    - Lining is super soft and really nice
    - Has a gap so that you can slip it over a handle on another bag like this: http://order-bags-from-the-net.com/images/fourteen3/xenon-sm… - this has been really good on long travels as a 7kg bag (I use mine for all tech) can weigh on you a bit.
    - Shoulder pads and back padding is really thick. Can also be a negative if you're somewhere hot. It does keep the bag off your back a bit but not enough for proper airflow.
    - Big Air bumper cushions in the base for the laptop have been great, really good for travel with the laptop

    Negatives
    - The side pocket for water bottles will stretch and not hold as well after a few uses
    - It doesn't 'sit' on it's base and will fall logo-forward
    - The large centre opening means when it is open if there is something in the top "sunglass" pocket the weight will cause it to fall down into the opening. Kind of annoying.

    Would recommend.

  • Only issue with Samsonite is the shorter warranty period compared to many others.

Long time, first time. Since I was shopping for this bag too, I noticed Peter's of Kensington has the bag listed at $107.

  • use one every day..
it's pretty good, no regrets buying it

  • Hey OP, how did you get Myer to Price Beat the price of Bagworld, as Bagworld has no physical stores and thus Myer's PB policy doesn't apply??

    • I just said that Bagworld was selling it for a lot cheaper and then they just accepted it… Showed them the website and they were like all g.
You can call them up as well, i did it earlier today for a friend and they said it was all good. Holding onto the item for me.

  • I had this bag and it was rubbish. Stitching let go and Samsonite wouldnt cover it under warranty. Could have had 2 or 3 good bags for the price but in saying that I’ve never had even a cheap bag that’s fallen to bits before
