This tent is awesome, worst thing about it is packing it up, but once you know what you're doing, you'll have it packed up in under 30 seconds. Took a demonstration to work out how to do it properly. Literally 2 seconds to set up if you don't peg it down.

Hot tip: the pole in the tent can fracture/crack if stored vertically and in the back of your car going over corrugated roads for several months, so store it laying down. When it did happen, it got replaced immediately from where I bought it from as it was still under 1 year warranty.

10/10 for my (basic) tent needs, was used daily for months. Is waterproof with a cover that is connected to tent and can't lose, if it's hot, roll it back and you've got 3 huge windows at the top to look at the sky. Would buy again.

I watched the video and the take down looks complicated af haha. Given a few practices it will probably be easy, but watching the video once at full speed the instructor may as well be a wizard.

      • If you watch the speedy 4 pop up by snowys they go through it a bit slower. It's the exact same pole design so even though it's not the same tent it's easy enough. After watching snowys vid I was able to pull it off first try without any issues. Really is simple.

Title should be 1 man 3 hot chicks tent

Usually the formula is to divide the mentioned number by 2. This tent would be ok for 2 persons.

Give it a go and report back

  • Wish we had a store in WA

  • Great price, the Coleman is $319 on amazon.com.au https://www.amazon.com.au/Unbranded-2000014782-Coleman-4-Per…

Amongst our camping friends quite a number have these larger pop up tents. The most enthusiastic endorsements are for the malamoo Cicero 3.0 versions, but they are $349 https://www.snowys.com.au/malamoo-cicara-30-4p-tent
Which is a bit rich. Side by side the Coleman isn’t as good, but at less than one third the price?
I also have been thinking of getting this Chinese one from amazon prime for $150 https://www.amazon.com.au/AYAMAYA-AU-Automatic-Waterproof-Pr…
which looks like the malamoo mega but a bit smaller, sort of in between the malamoo and the Coleman.

    • Not great reviews for the Malamoo on the above website…

      • Hmmm, yes. Our friends’ all have the older malamoo mega and think it the bee’s knees.
The updated malamoo cicira 3.0, according to the reviews, has a pole snapping issue that resulted in withdrawal from sale, which according to snowys is now fixed.
Regardless, too much money for me, no matter if they have the most room.

    • Decathalon have a few you might like to add to your list, seem to be double layer from what I briefly read last night.

      http://www.decathlon.com.au/p/8347886_2-seconds-easy-camping…

      • Only an inch or so more height than the coleman though. I also think they are all double layer, probably same factory. you choose the size that's best for you.

        • No the Coleman is single skin for sure, it’s got the tiny fly at the top but the rest is single.

That expensive one you linked to is a double too.

          • @Pobman: I think you are right about the Coleman.

            • @entropysbane: Yeah i've discounted it from my list…going to either grab one of those $80 Keumer 1" somebody else linked to, which seems like a good spec. for the price, or a EPE Speedy Blackhole, which is 2.5x the price but a good size.

              • @Pobman: which Keumer? this one:https://www.amazon.com/KEUMER-Anti-Wind-Outdoor-Sunshade-Sunscreens/dp/B078T5RP5F ??

                • @aec: It’s in the post below, though I had the blue one in my watch list

                  https://ebay.us/jc4Mre

There is a single skin version of the same tent.

                  • @Pobman: I see. It looks good. I added it into my watch list. Thanks.

                    • @aec: Got the speedy black hole in the end…

    • We own a couple of these (https://ebay.us/jc4Mre). It fits our Exped Megamat Duo with a little bit of room to spare. Super easy to put up and pack. It rained pretty solidly on one of our trips and had minor leakage where the mat was pushed up against the side. We looked at the Coleman (at the full price) and the quality of the Coleman is about the same but for this price, I'd go the Coleman for the sake of ease of warranty.

  • So if Rays are selling at this price, that means BCF will to right?

    • Should do, and they have done so for this price before.. though it was more in their most recent sale… going to see tomorrow as I have some BCF vouchers.

  • wish Amazon would price match it

hey, have one, pros- huge inside, windows are nice. cons zippers -tiny. also when staked out very difficult to zip as it splays out and the zipper shape arches over. so puts undue duress on those tiny zippers…one of ours is broken. plus its a single skin tent so condensation. worth it for $99! BCF is a sister company so they will easily pricematch.

  • It is a great tent for speed but i gonna say some down sides of it

i would say it fit two people comfortable with some gears but it is super low in heights. so u sit up will almost touch the top.

for fun for kids its cool but i would buy something 200 from ANNACANDA when they on good deals instead just for the extra space and heights.

    hope this help

  • For people who own this, can you open the windows with the fly still on? And do they provide good ventilation? I have a decathlon one that I bought on sale which is great but very hot in Qld, small windows which still need to be shut when it rains or the tent will get wet and most of the door is privacy screen not mesh. Might be worth getting one of these it it means we can actually sleep in there and saving the other one for winter trips.
